Loading data into datasets on load. - Adobe LiveCycle 27-07-2011
I need to pre-fill a dynamic PDF's fields so my users can edit it and submit back.I have a third party application (ColdFusion 9.0) that can load xml data for form frield into a given PDF and produce a new PDF. ColdFusin (cfpdfform tag) opens the form and loads the data but unfutunatly it removes all the datasets that were originally in the PDF. So in the result PDF some drop down lists that were binded to datasets (such as a list of Languages) do not work, they dont show any value.Since I have ...

Re: XDP <pdf href="..."> doesn't load data if PDF is online - Adobe LiveCycle 24-07-2011
Above error is as I have described in my first post pops up by opening a XDP in browser when it is sent from a server. But if I save the same XDP (in FireFox file > save as...) to the Desktop then drag and drop it into a new tab, it opens beautifully.this seems to be a Adobe Plugin bug. The temproary file was created by the plugin it self !Im using Adobe Reader 10.1 and FireFox 5

I changed the content type to "application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml" and that solved the problem.

Re: XDP <pdf href="..."> doesn't load data if PDF is online - Adobe LiveCycle 23-07-2011
I made some progress I'd like to share. Instead of referencing the PDF I used Base64 encoding to include the PDF in the XDP file. It works when I open the file in Acrobat. But when I feed it to the web browser I get the following pop-up error from Acrobat Plugin (inside FireFox):The XDP file returned by the server is trying to open local file:file:///C|DOCUME~1/ADMINI~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/A9RBD8D.tmp.dir/A9RBD8C.pdfbut access to local file system is denied.>OK

XDP <pdf href="..."> doesn't load data if PDF is online - Adobe LiveCycle 23-07-2011
In Acrobat I can import/Export data off my LiveCycle form.XDP file exported by Acrobat has the following lines: If load this file by Acrobat, is works perfectly (Opens the form and populates it). However, I need to have my PDF file on a server, so I edited the file: Now when I open it in Acrobat Pro X, it opens my web browser and loads the PDF but does not populate it.Do you know what am I doing wrong? or is this another restricted feature?

Re: debuging Javascript code in LC is not smooth. Is there a better way? - Adobe LiveCycle 20-07-2011
I cant believe Adobe releases such a large project like LiveCycle with no "officially supported" debuger.from the horse's mouth:http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2010/03/using_the_acrobat_javascript_d.html"...there are some serious limits:Using the debugger with XFA forms is not officially supportedWe cannot debug script objectsStoring break points doesn’t seem to work. This makes it hard to debug an initialization script (unless you force your form to do an xfa.form.remerge()) ""When will XFA hav...

debuging Javascript code in LC is not smooth. Is there a better way? - Adobe LiveCycle 20-07-2011
I'm new to LC and I am finding the debugging process very cumbersome. I save my form, open it in Acrobat and enable debugging window there. I know there is a way to the have debugging window in PDF preview but that would not make much of difference. I actually prefer to have it in Acrobat because when it crashes I wouldn't loose my LC.Is this the best way of debuging Javascript? It would be nice to have access to variable dump. I am creating temproary text fields and pop up messages.

Re: How to make a submit button that skips validation? - Adobe LiveCycle 19-07-2011
I discovered it (in a hardway). I ended up using try { ...}catch(e){} Now I can disable nulltest for most fields. I say most fields because there could be multiple instances of some fields (in dynamicly generated fields) so I may have 3 previousJobTitle fields. User can add more as needed. Our function does not seem to capture those repatable fields.looking into the reference I am trying to do something like the following the function reaches a subform:currentSubformFieldsNodes = currentElement....

Re: How to make a submit button that skips validation? - Adobe LiveCycle 19-07-2011
The function is very helpful, thx.I just have an issue accessing validate object under the field elements. I can lock all fields using you LockAllFields() I added the following into the loop script:allChildElements.item(j).validate.nullTest = "disabled";In Acrobat's debuger I get an error saying "allChildElements.item(j).validate is undefined". Evey Node must have a validate object as far as I know. Aren't allChildElements.item(j) nodes?
