I went and removed most of my scripts and it has sped the tabbing up dramatically. Why would it slow down so much just trying to combine a first name field and a last name field into a full name field, is beyond me. Or when you try to combine a address1, address2, city, state, zip into a full address field. This isn’t very workable. We might as well of just written it in VB or Java.Gary D. There are no loops in the scripts that I have written. The only fields that are slow are the ones with scripts in them.Gary D. CooperIDOA - IT Applications Manager1 Natural Resources Way, Suite 100Springfield, IL. 62702(217) 558-0139

No page numbers. The script takes a last name field and adds it to the first name field to make a full name that is an invisible field that I can use latter in the document.ClientName.rawValue = ClientFirstName.rawValue + " " + this.rawValueThat’s all it does and then there’s like a 3 to 9 second delay between the last name field and the first name field.Gary D. I've designed a 78 page dynamic document that takes in a lot of data. The major problem is that when someone enters data moving from one field to the next is really slow. There are about 10 lines of script with these fields. I have followed all the helpful hints to streamlining my code and documents, but the tabbing is still very slow. Any ideas as to getting the tabbing to respond quicker?

What is text{99999} in the validation pattern good for if it still allows alpha characters to be entered? Shouldn't Adobe address this issue with a fix? And shouldn't you go back to the field with the error before moving to the next field? Livecycle just says correct the issue, but moves to the next field.

But what about if it's a zip code or phone number? with the "-" and the "("? Adobe should have allowed for these issues before giving out the datetime object and the numeric objects with validation formats.

In a text field you can not use num{999999999} you have to use text{999999999} otherwise you will get an incompatable type error. And how did you get rid of the commas? I still get commas eventhough I use num{999999999} in a numeric field.

If you use text, then they can put alpha characters in that field where he probably only wants numeric input.

I've created a date field with validation parameters, but when a user enters "1234567891011" it'll give a validation error message, but it will still allow the user to continue onto the next field. How do I wipe out the bad date and set the focus back to the date field forcing them to enter a proper date?

Okay, what I did was grabed a "Get Adobe Reader" image from here, placed a hidden button (ie, changed the background to none and removed the caption) over the top of it, and added app.launchURL(http://get.adobe.com/reader/); to the click event of the button.

What would cause an event not to trigger on a form? I have a couple text boxes that, in my full document, won't work, but when I remove all the other pages the events trigger fine. I have several text boxes that when clicked on, will cause circles to appear around the boxes.

Document wasn't coming up. We settled on individual print dialog boxes for each set of pages/documents the want to print.

Paul, It is a field thing. Once I removed all my radio buttons/radio button groups, the page prints fine and using the 11X8.5 layout. Somehow when I upgraded from Livecycle 8 to Livecycle Es2 it messed with a few of my radio buttons and pushed them, alibiet invisably, out of the bounds of the printer margins.

I saw this one posting from a guy who said that because he changed a field, somehow, to a different value type created the problem. I too just changed from livecycle 8 to es2. Why is Adobe LiveCycle so quirky like that? This will mean that I will have to examine every single field in the entire original document 72 pages for the problem.

I now changed the vertical size to 8.5” and then moved the content to the very edge of the vertical limits and it prints. It has something to do with the horizontal limits.

I reduced it, but this is way too small and LiveCycle shouldn’t be requiring the content to be that size on a 11X8.5 page. You can see the size on the document below.https://acrobat.com/#d=S76UB--7kofvgKazWWJk0w

All of them. I tried reducing the size of the content (fields and text) to see if it would print, and it does I will test varying sizes to see if that works. Does Adobe have a snap to content area option to just snap it to the right size?

The pink box is less than the size of the page. The pink box is 10.5X8.0 and the page itself is 11X8.5.

I reduced the size to 10.5 and 8.0. I centered it with a Y location of .25 and a X location of .25. I centered everything on both pages and there is nothing outside the margins, but it still doesn't print on a Lexmark T644. It'll get to those two pages and then it changes the formating as you can see in the image above. I can't believe Adobe has never encountered this issue before.

Yes. It does print on our better Xerox printer. It’s just not printing on the cheaper Lexmark printer .
