Thank you so much! That was exactly the info I needed to resolve!!!In case anyone needs it in the future, here's the JS:if (this.rawValue == null){ var msNow = (new Date()).getTime(); var d1 = new Date(msNow); this.rawValue = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", d1);}else { this.rawValue = rawValue; }

I'm having the same problem as described above but I am using JavaScript to reflect the current date: var msNow = (new Date()).getTime(); var d1 = new Date(msNow); this.rawValue = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", d1);The user can override the current date and save the form, BUT when the form is reopened it will run again and insert the current date over the user entered date.(I've tried several variations of "if (this.isNull)" to the above code which results in "01/00/0000" when opening the saved form ...

Did you ever find resolution to this?I am having same issue with images out of proportion even though the "scale image proportionately" sizing option is checked.

Did you ever find out if there is a way to recalculate everything in one table/subform and not the entire form?I am having the same issue using xfa.form.recalculate(1); and trying to find a way to have automatic row/subform numbering without losing previously calculated data.

One way you could do this would be to hide the page that you do not want to print by using the following code in the prePrint event:form1.Page1.presence = "hidden"; Then in the postPrint event, make the page visible again:form1.Page1.presence = "visible";Hope that helps.

Try placing this in the change event of the checkbox:if (this.rawValue == 1){TextField1.presence = "visible";}else if (this.rawValue == 0) { TextField1.presence = "invisible"; }Good luck!!

I have a form with a drop down list. When a particular item is selected from the drop down list, a corresponding text box becomes visible. (This presence property script is in the drop down change event.) This feature works perfectly.Now I also need to allow for custom text entry on this same drop down list, but when I check Allow Custom Text Entry only one character can be typed into the drop down list on the form. Is there a way to use both of these features in the same drop down list???(If I ...

I've had no response to this question and found a similar post from Dec 2005 http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bbdc19d/1 that also did not have a solution. Does anyone know if/how I can have the filebrowser open in a specified folder?

Is there a way to set the default folder in JavaScript so that when the user clicks on an image field they will be browsing in the correct folder to select their image file?I have a form that will be used in-house and would like the user to be able to browse an image folder we have on our local network when the image field is clicked.I have tried using the following code in the click event with no luck:xfa.resolveNode("form1.Page1.sfBody.txtImage").href = "O:\Pictures\"; Does anyone know if ther...

You can do this by changing the subform content (containing your textfield) to flowed. Check this forum for discussions on this subject.

Set the default binding (in the Object palette, binding tab) of the text field where the user enters data to Global. Then create other text fields with that same name and place anywhere you want that user entered data to appear. Once the user types in data it will also appear in corresponding locations.Hope this helps!

Can someone help with parsing return WSDL data? My return WSDL data is a concatenated string of alias names (firstname middlename lastname generation) delininated with an "@":7433|ALIAS|John|W|Smith| @7432|ALIAS|Johnny| |Smith| @7430|ALIAS|JJ| |Smithers| @7431|ALIAS|JJ| |Smith| @7400|ALIAS|Jon| |Smith| @7416|ALIAS|John|Wilber|Smith|JRI must have these names appear on my forms in a "lastname, firstname middlename generation" format. After changing two javascript "else if" statements to "if" in an Adobe LiveCycle v8 form, I received errors upon saving. Now the file seems to be corrupt because when I attempt to open it I get an error stating "File does not begin with '". Does anyone know what could be causing this AND MORE IMPORTANTLY if there is a way to salvage my form? Please help!

Thank you for the response:-) I'm using Adobe LiveCycle v8. I removed the two "else if" and replaced with "if", but now it always executes the last line of code, "Cathy" (even though condition is false). I tested each variable again and only Carol returns true on the Client Last Name I am using. Does anyone know what else is wrong in my script?var FLU1 = /(^[A-G])/ var FLU2 = /(^[H-O]|P[a-e])/ var FLU3 = /(^P[f-z]|[Q-Z])/ if (FLU1.test(xfa.resolveNode("form1.dbObjects.clientLastName").rawValue)=...

I have a form where the Client Last Name is bound to a data source. I need to provide a copy of the form to a particular person depending upon which letter of the alphabet the Client Last Name begins with (e.g., Carol gets a copy of forms where the client last name begins with A-G, Karen gets a copy of forms where the client last name begins with H-Pe, etc.). I want the correct persons name to appear in the copy notation of the form. I've tested my regular expressions and they are working correc...

I have successfully used:this.rawValue = parent.index +1;in the calculate event (of the first instance)to show the numbering, and used:xfa.form.recalculate(true);in the click event following the removeInstance AND addInstance codeto readjust the numbering once a row or subform is added or removed.Hope that helps 🙂

I've attached the actual code that is working in my form (in case you see something else in it that might help you). Since I have only been using LiveCycle Designer v8 for a very short time I'm unable to provide further assistance with your error. Sorry, I know how frustrating it can be. Hopefully someone else can offer assistance.----- form1.Page1.sfColumn2.cboTimeOffense::change: - (JavaScript, client) -------------------------if (xfa.event.newText == "Other"){form1.Page1.sfColumn2.txtSpecifyT...

I have successfully used the following code on one of my forms (but I am using version 8). It is simple (no assigning of values) but it may give you a starting point anyway. For clarification, "Other" is the actual text of my list item choice.Just add this to the change event of your drop down list replacing "Other" with the actual text of your "Value B" list item:if (xfa.event.newText == "Other"){form1.#subform[0].BillingID.presence = "visible";}else{form1.#subform[0].BillingID.presence = "invi...

Kelly,Besides checking the box for Allow Multiple Lines, you will also need to check the box for Limit Length to Visible Area (to get rid of the plus sign). If you do this, once you exit the text box all of the data will show.If the data will be rather lengthy, you may need to look into using a flowed subform to contain the text box so the data can flow onto additional pages.

Does anyone know how to change the format of a text string to Title Case?On my form the text comes in (binding) as all Upper Case and I need it to appear in Title Case.I have successfully used this.rawValue = this.rawValue.toUpperCase(); and this.rawValue = this.rawValue.toLowerCase(); to convert text to Upper or Lower Case but I have been unsuccessful at converting to Title Case. Does anyone know how to do this?

I'm struggling to solve a problem I've run into with repeating subforms and didn't see a previous posting.I have a repeating subform that the user adds multiple line text to, then adds other instances of the subform as needed and adds text to them. The problem is when the third instance of the subform is added, the data in the second instance is lost. (The three subforms remain but the only data left is in the initial instance.)Does anyone know where I've gone wrong?

Thank you. This function works great but I'm having trouble getting it to work when adding an instance of a repeating subform. The field in my original subform does not contain the extra space so the function is working, but when the user adds additional instances of the subform the field contained within the subform contains the extra space. Any ideas on a fix for this?
