Thanks everyone. I managed to get the form to save the dynamic sections. I forgot to tick the box to repeat sub forms and I also unticked the server side scripting box from the properties panel.

Hi thereFollowing on from my previous question, I began to think about the problem. Can anyone tell me if a reader enabled form will preserve any dynamic elements once saved by the user? Thanks

To say I have deselected 'form requires server side data binding and / or scripting' from the properties panel. This is now saving the data however the repeating subform is not showing after I have saved it. When I click the button to repeat it opens up again with the data showing. I would like it to always be showing if possible.

Hi I have created a form with a dynamic subform to capture repeated information. I have saved it and enabled reader rights in Acrobat. When I go to save the form with the subform repeated it does not save the repeated subform, just the original subform.Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

What you could probably do is create a dynamic form that could shift the content around as needed though. You would need to create subforms for the content for each of the pages that would need to be displayed. There is lots of information about how to create dynamic forms on web. If you are struggling post details of the form and I will have a look for you.

Yes that is what I mean. I don’t think it is ever possible to remove page 1, hence the workaround. Make sense?

Hi I am not sure that you can 'hide' page 1. I have replicated your problem and cannot find a solution. What you could do as a work around is to set the form to open in full screen mode, set a black rectangle filler to cover the first page when you go to the next page and set focus to it as well if necessary. Remove black rectangle when user wishes to go back to Page 1.

sounds like you might be better with a simple Access database. You can store all your details and query data quickly.

HiI reader enabled a form in Acrobat to allow a user to save data. I tested it in Reader 9 and all worked fine. I then placed the form in a portfolio created in Acrobat. When I then tested the form in the portfolio in Reader 9 it would not allow me to save the form and data.Is this correct? If so why would putting the form in a Portfolio cause problems.ThanksDarren

HiI cant understand why you would need two text boxes? Maybe you could explain in more detail. As Niall says just set the form to dynamic and enable text fields to expand which it will do over multiple pages. Livecycle Designer is a form creation tool. The only way to implement your solution exactly is to use Adobe Indesign. You would import your XML data from your Livecycle created form into Indesign ensuring that the mapping is correct in the first place. Once the data has been transferred into...

How do you want to validate that box then - when they click a button / sendemail/when they click in the drop down? The easy thing you could do is to automatically set the default to either amale or female.

HiMy guess is that you want the box to display 'select' in order for users to know to select from the box. Therefore in the preOpen event enter something likeif (this.rawValue == null) {this.rawValue = "Select";}Remove the 'select' drop down that you originally entered to avoid confusion. Make sure that the default in the Value tab is also set to 'none'.Hope this helps.

Please be aware of licensing restrictions when enabling form from Acrobat, my understanding is thatyou can only send a reader enabled form to 500 unique users to respond to that form as many times as they wishor post out to an infinite number of users and you are only allowed to receive 500 responses. See the Acrobat Pro EULA.thanksdarren

Hi therePresuming you have set up a dynamic form to do this correctly, the thing that you may not be aware of is that when you type more than the box can hold initially it will add the scroll bar but will not expand. Only once you have clicked elsewhere on your form will the box grow to accommodate the additional text.Hoep this helps as I was stuck with this for a while.Thanksdarren

Hi JoeI got this to work by putting the following in the change eventif (xfa.event.change.length==1)xfa.event.change = "";I then added a note in the enter event to advise users to click on the arrow to do thisxfa.host.messageBox("Please click the arrow to your left to select date","Assistance",3)I am not sure that the code is that great but works for me. Bear in mind that some users cannot use a mouse which would be the disadvantage of doing this force.Let me know if it works. ThanksDarren

HiIn the click event of the button add some javascript likePage1.TextField1.presence = "visible";Make sure the object's intial presence is set to hidden or invisible.Re the party multiple entry you cannot clear the previous information as you will lose your data. What you have to do is repeat the objects again when the user clicks a button. Information on how to do this is widely available. Just google 'livecycle designer scipting basics' and read the PDF. Chapter 13 contains the info you need.I...

HiIf you wanted to repeat the subform that contains your text entry fields again within each step you will need to add buttons to do this. If this is not needed then dont do this. Point 2 you said you wanted it to expand when you add more rows so why i Made that suggestion so maybe I didnt understand correctly. If you just want a single text box to expand when something is written then you have to ensure the form is dynamic and set the object to expand from the object options. Note that the obje...

Hi If your only worry is the user not retaining the feel of being within thesame step. Here is what I would do:1. Create a master page as needed with whatever objects needed throughoutform.2. On first page create a parent subform to hold all steps. Createbutton(s) within this subform to go to previous or next step. Make sure inthe hierarchy these come at the end and that they hide and make visible yourstep subforms in (3) below. You will need to code this button something likethis:If (page1.step...

Hi thereIt might be better to create a dynamic form and wrap your text field in a subform. When you click the button the form expands and the subform is repeated. This is more useful if you do not know the number of entries a user might need. If you need any help with this then let mem know
