The email submit button was put in as a convenience to allow for people to simply drop and use a button for email. It was not intended to be adjusted or controlled programatically. In your case you can use a plain button and program it to use the Acrobat javascrip Maildoc api or youo can drop a button on the form, make it of type submit and use the mailto protocol to control the mail message. Make sense?Paul

You wil not be able to create a file outside of the PDF space unless a function has been provided for you .....for example you coudl save the data from the form because a function has been provided for you.... but you cannot create a file through javascript ...this woudl be a security hole.paul

It woudl depend on how the form is defined ...if it is a dynamic form then you can simply use the subforms addInstance method to add a new copy of it....if it is not designed that way ...i would recommend that you make a copy in Designer and use the presence properties for those pages to hide and show it.paul

I think you are doing it the easiest way now ....my only other idea involves creating a 2nd copy and setting the presence to print only (having the text aleady set on that one).Paul

I think there was a bug in version 8.1 that stopped the cancel print …if you up the target version to 9 it works. You can do that in File/Form Properties/Defaults and make the target version 9.0 and it will work.Paul

I tried it on a form here and it worked fine ....are you expecting it to work after I enter th epassword? Rememeber that th euser has to invoke a print before one can be cancelled. I woudl remove the else portion .....there is no need to print again ..the user already hit print to start this process in the first place. I included my sample .....the code is on the prePrint of the password field but you can put it on any prePrint event.paul

You are loading richtext into the field so it is not as easy as setting the rawvalue like you have above. You will have to create an xHTML equivalent of what you want to load and then load it into the field when you are ready. The easiest way I have found to do this is to create what I want in a field then to get what the xHTML that represents that do a console.println(fieldname.value.exData.saveXML(); This will copy the xHTML to the javascript console. Then you can see what it looks like and ad...

I do not know about the BPMN 1.2 but I can tell you the different ways that a flow can be started"1. Watched Folder - process monitors a folder on the server and when a new file is created that file is associated with the input of the process and it is started.2. Email - same as above but email is used with an attachment3. Java api - programatic interace for java programs 4. Soap Service - programatic interface for any program5. Data Services end point - used from a flex application6. Rest call ...

OK now I understand ...there woudl be options in the generation of the pdf on the server that woudl relate to that option. So in the option spec of the Render Form call on the server you woudl be able to indicate that you want tagging turned on. There is a checkbox on the PDF Options in the renderForm service.Paul

Sounds like it might have been a bug in version 8 that has since been fixed .....what if you used a textfield with no borders or background that was set to be locked so that it was not a tab stop for the user ..in this way you are turning it into a text object .Paul

That is what is supposed to happen ....the Import/Export bindings are not the same as the Data Bindings. The Data Bindings are used to bing the field to the Data Dom which is used when a submit operation occurs. That data dom is written to the submitting process. The Import/Export bindings are used when invoking a web service. The web services are generally used to augment the form (supply additional information - like populating a ddlist from an external source). Are you trying to fully populat...

It sounds like a permissions or OS level thing. I can tell what is supposed to happen and perhaps you can look at your security settings and see if thy are interfering. When you hit Preview, Designer will call another program that will take your template definition (XDP file template) and make a PDF out of it. That PDF file is written to a temp location. The the temp PDF file is called and the associtaion that is established between PDF extensions and Acrobat in the OS is used to launch the Activ...
