Re: Why would Hit Depth be less than Visit Depth ? mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Thank you that explains it. Visit depth is (re) calculated and aggregated as visit level and thus not possible to break down. ie if Visit depth was 4 it would not be possible to check values for dimension/metric for the second Page View in the visit as you could if you were looking at Hit Level. Verified by creating segment containers at Hit and Visit level.Suspect IF Then segment may provide me what I need, but would be helpful to have a third dimension .. HIT Depth, VISIT (hit) Depth and VISIT...

Re: Why would Hit Depth be less than Visit Depth ? mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Thank you for your reply, however ...surely if Visit depth does not increase for custom links .. then for a Visit Depth of 2 ie (should have at least taken 2 Page View hits and Pagename different) the Hit depth should be greater than 1 and NOT 1 as in data provided.

Why would Hit Depth be less than Visit Depth ? mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
IF Hit depth is incremented on every during a Visit and Visit depth only incremented for a Page View hit AND Pagename is not the same as previous, shouldn't the Hit Depth always be either equal or greater than Visit Depth ? Take the following example with Segment applied .. Surely if Visit depth was 2 it should have taken at least 2 hits to register so why would Hit depth be at 1 for a (large) percentage of Visit depth = 2 ?

Re: Bot Traffic - GoogleBot mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
This does not address my issue. The bot is being filtered, however at the expense of ~17% of our allocated server call usage, again I appreciate this is because the hit is still being processed. What I'm querying/suggesting is an option to let the customer decide if they wish to have hits from their bots list not processed or in a way to not incur additional cost. Whilst to an extent customers could put blocks in place for certain bots to avoid incurring Adobe processing costs, this would not be...

Bot Traffic - GoogleBot mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
GoogleBot accounts for ~17% of all our server requests (over 12 months) which is a sizable cost. I appreciate Adobe still has to process bot activity requests and make this data available for reporting, but is it really needed for GoogleBot ie could Adobe not drop any google requests or allow the option to be able to do so via Processing Rules ?

Custom Code to define data elements mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Experience Platform Launch
New to launch and struggling to find any documentation/clarification with the following ..I suspect it's using custom code but no info on how to set the value.Looking to define custom data elements to then use to populate prop/evars eg. How would I define pagename element which simply takes the first element from the path and appends with another string value or similarly checks for hostname and modifies

Re: Workspace Schedule : Recipients : Publishing Lists mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Brandon ... probably stating the obvious but being able to lock the report suite on certain panels would be a decent feature when working within Workspace too, maybe that's been raised separately ?

Re: Workspace Schedule : Recipients : Publishing Lists mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Brandon thanks for prompt response .. I did try the search but couldn't find similar requestWith regards multiple report suites in Workspace .. did think of that and maybe I should have included. The way I would see this working is exactly how the current reports work in that against the individual panels in Workspace where the report suite has been specified having either a lock report suite or overide checkbox. This would certainly work for our business case ie have a per site dashboard but ha...

Workspace Schedule : Recipients : Publishing Lists mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Surprised Workspace scheduling does not allow for the reports to be sent to publishing lists. Being able to schedule report to be sent to publishing lists and having reporting suite overide is a huge benefit within an organisation that has 200+ websites each with multiple reports and specific recipients.Without this we cant migrate over to using Worskpace for scheduled reports.Request ..1. Allow for publishing lists to be added 2. Allow for publishing suite override to work3 Have option to Prefi...

Re: Year over Year or Month over Month alerts mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
There may be a simpler solution requiring setting up of fewer segments .. but in the interim the following should give you what you need. There are Day of Week, Day of Month, and Month of Year dimensions you could use. eg. the following would Give you the first Fridays in each month, which would give you the month on month alert or alternatively include the Month of Year to give you a year on year.

Visited x no. of days in y Timeframe mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
As per title, anyone worked out a genius way of creating a segment which would show no. of visitors (or another metric) that have visited x no. of days in y timeframeeg. 10 days in past 30 days, 3 days in past 7 days etc.

Re: Marketo Bots - workaround? mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
some of options ..1. With Bot rules you can also filter by User Agent string (in addition for IPs) .. so, if you're able to identify a consistency in the UA string of the bots (that differs from normal) you can block this way.2. Sounds like you already have a segment in place to identify spikes, if not create one and set up an alert, so you get notified if it goes beyond a certain threshold.3. You may also have this in place too, but create a virtual report suite which you use as your main suite...

Re: Adobe Analytics and ITP mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Hi @frankg15568879We may be talking about two separate but related issues ...1. Issue caused by ITP where s_vi third party cookies being accepted, but deleted mid session, inflating the visitors and visits metrics. Granted we've only implemented on a single domain, however the issue does appear to have been resolved by implementing Marketing Cloud ID service.2. Cross domain tracking, I'll be able to verify once we roll out Marketing Cloud Service Id across all our domains, however based on what...

Re: Adobe Analytics and ITP mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Frank,So ...1. Whilst Marketing Cloud ID Service uses first party cookies it also uses the demdex third party cookie to identify 'visitors' across multiple domains, that of course if the demdex cookie is accepted. ie. if cookie exists it'll use that to identify the visitor and then use this for the first party cookie. So whilst individual first party cookies will be created across the different domains, where the demdex cookie exists or accepted (for your Marketing Cloud ID) the visitor(s) will ...

Re: Adobe Analytics and ITP mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Rickysee below ..Late Friday evening I moved over one of our sites to using Experience Cloud ID Service. For those that aren't aware this whilst dropping a first party cookie also drops a third party demdex cookie and thus allows for cross site de-duplication of visitors (if browser accepts a third party cookie). Based on 2 days worth of data, the results are very encouraging with various metrics showing improvements (and hopefully corrections) in line with issue of cookies being deleted mid vis...

Re: Adobe Analytics and ITP mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Update : Please note Adobe has recently changed it's advice and updated the original articleAdobe Analytics and ITPITP is inconsistent with Adobe's 3rd-party cookies. Occasionally, cookies are accepted but are frequently removed, even mid-visit.There's no timelines on a work around solution and therefore my suggestion would be for Adobe customers to move over to 1st party cookies

Re: Distinct Dimension count with metric => x mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Marion .. One of the calculated metrics below, this sums up the page views for articles that had 100+ PVs in the specified time frame. There is a similar which does a distinct count of the rows too With regards being able to trend I'm not sure I know what you mean. As you'll note from the calculated metric it sums up the rows (or count of distinct rows in the other metric) .. therefore I have to have a separate table for each month/duration and thus can't trend. ps. I'm able to trend (bar chart)...

Re: Exclude data via IP Address - Historical Data mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Also worth considering is creating exclude segment(s) ... if your IP's exhibit a specific behavior ie. correspond to a domain not applicable to other IPs (you do not want to filter). this would be historical.

Re: Adobe Analytics and ITP mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Ricky,Visits are breaking mid session and thus inflating Visitors and Visits metric. As this is happening mid session and the cookies being seen as new .. you should see the inflation if you trend visitors/vists over time and apply the filter apple devices, no referrer and visit no = 1eg.We were running on older H.code and therefore recommendation was to move over to Appmeasurement library and/or moving to first party cookies. Moving to first party cookies is currently not a viable option theref...

Re: Distinct Dimension count with metric => x mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
eg ...The highlighted metrics was produced relying on row count with calculated metric on a table for specified time frame. ie to produce this metric for different timeframes (for trended) would require separate tables ... and you can only trend data in a single table rather than across multiple tables. So in order to produce a trended visualization I need to be able to create the required metric which can work on date dimension in a single table

Re: Segment for Visits with 2+ Distinct Page Views mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
I'd suggest another possible solution ..Use getPreviousValue .. and then trigger an event 'distinct x count' if value is different to the current page so .. assuming your pagenames are distinct (or you have article id or similar)1st PV : getPreviousValue cookie would be empty so you'd set it to current page (distinct value) .. and would trigger distinct count2nd PV : assuming they refresh the page it you wou;dn't trigger the event as previousValue would be same as current3.rd PV : view another p...

Across site/networkTake the following as an example ..We've deemed individual articles being viewed 100+ times as being a 'quality' content measurement, So the above highlights 76% of are articles met this requirement/KPI and generating the significant proportion of the overall page views. The above has been produced using row count and a calculated metric which is reliant on row count. The above is a workaround and does not do/allow ..1. Have this trended (each month would require separate table)...

Re: Distinct Dimension count with metric => x mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
Arun,Thanks for the suggestion, let me clarify further..I'd like to report on articles that have been viewed more than x no. of times in a specified time frame and not by visitor/visit container. so I could then report on ..1. No of articles published (distinct count)2. No of articles published with 10 or more page views.. to then produce KPI % of articles published with more/less than 10 page views.as your segment is visit based it wouldn't do what's required.

Distinct Dimension count with metric => x mubarakd5726232 - Adobe Analytics
I've noted the function 'Approximate Count Distinct' which could be used for a count of the distinct values for a dimension however I'd like to extend this further and only count the distinct count where the value has had => specified metric value.eg.Distinct Headline count that have had 10 or more Page Views.I'm able to achieve this if the table breakdown (rows) is headline but not without.
