I have a large number (88) of watched folders that process PDF files to extract barcodes. ALC ES4 on Windows Server 2008R2.Recently the system got bogged down so I disabled many of the folders to allow others to catch up. One folder now reports status disabled when viewing endpoint management (Services > Applications and Services > Endpoint Management). When I check the box for this folder and click Enable I getALC-DSC-003-000: com.adobe.idp.dsc.DSCInvocationException: Invocation error.Interesti...

Hi,I have a process that extracts barcode data and takes an action depending on whether the barcode value matches a regular expression. The regex functionality is provided by the eTech Utilities FindValue 1.0 service (component is Id com.adobe.etech.utils.findDocumentText version 1.1 according to the Component General Properties display). This worked great under ES2, but now we are moving to ES4 and the matching functionality does not work the same. Is there an update for this component for LC E...

Hi Axel,We are doing something similar so I may have a partial answer. I was able to export my process from or LC2 server to an LCA using LiveCycle Workbench 9.5 and then import it into our new LC4 server via the admin UI (Services->Applications and Services->Application Management and then click Import). So far so good. But I also have a large number of watched folders for which I exported configuration information from my LC2 system sometime last year (but don't remember how). I'd like to impo...

This issue was resolved by associating a schema with the form which allowed the form to save state.

I have a form that allows users to add and delete rows om a table. This works fine while the user is viewing and editing the form, but when the form is saved and then reopened, previously deleted rows reappear. How can I make sure my deleted rows stay deleted? The script for click for the delete button reads:this.parent.instanceManager.removeInstance(this.parent.index);Thank you for any insight into what is causing the deleted rows to reappear when the document is reopened.Noam

Hi Diego,Thank you for your reply.I see now that I didn't really supply enough information in my request.I'd like to configure a field (decimal or numeric) to display a currency value with 2 decimal places. A display pattern like the one you suggested works fine. The problem seems to be putting together the correct set of edit patterns.Users should be able to enter values with or without a leading dollar sign, with or without commas and with or without decimal digits, e,g. "999999.44", "999,999....

I have a number of fields that are for the entry of dollar amounts. I'd like to be able to limit the number of digits, and permit users to enter the value with our without the dollar sign, and with or without commas. I've tried a number of different edit and display pattern combinations but have yet to find one that permits what I imagine is a commonly desired behavior. What am I missing? Thanks!

I teased out a set of binding settings that seem to work for me:For the table check Repeat Table for Each Data Item and Initial Count and set the count to 1.Select the table rows and in the binding tab set as described for the table.Seems both of these are required, but I'm ready to believe there are other approaches that work. Thanks again Srini!

Thank you for the suggesting Srini. I'm trying to implement but struggling with the scripting for the buttons and the binding settings.I've tried the following for the click action for the delete buttons in each row: this.parent.instanceManager.removeInstance(this.parent.index);and this for the click action for the add button under the table: rate_table._Row1.addInstance(true);When I click on delete the javascript debugger pops up and tells me: GeneralError: Operation failed. I have a repeating subform in my form that should start with several initialized rows.I can create several empty rows by setting the binding to "repeat subform for each data item" and setting the "min count", but I'd like to have values in one of the columns so this doesn't get me there.I can create multiple instances of my named subform and initialize the value for the column in question, but then if I have the "repeat subform for each data item" checked I get additional dups of all but the fir...

For what it's worth, and if I recall, this was resolved by stopping JBoss, and clearing out the Adobe_LiveCycle_Temp area, and the old cruft left by processes that died under LiveCycleStorage (assorted folders with names beginning "docm"), removing the svc*, tmp and work folders under opt/jboss_node/server/lc_sqlserver_cl/, and then restarting the JBoss node. Your mileage may vary.

Thank you for the quick reply. I tried something similar - I added a subform called "Footer" in the PageArea1 Master Page and included the fields in the subform. I thought ContentArea1 was for non-header/footer content. Currently the textfields in the Footer subform don't reflect values across pages. Is that the magic of the "ContentArea"?

We have a form that requires a footer with a number of fillable fields. I'd like to configure the form so that changes to the values on any page are reflected throughout the document. I read about something called "duplicate fields" in Acrobat, but can't seem to find the equivalent functionality in LiveCycle Designer ES2. Can you please point me in the right direction?Thank you!

We have a system configured as a vertical cluster (2 jboss instances on a single server using gemfire). In late December node 1 stopped processing files and seemed to interfere with node 2 processing: if node 2 was processing files and node 1 was started, the processing on node 2 would stop, and then when node 1 was stopped the processing on node 2 would resume. No node 2 is dead as well. Just emits messages in the log like:2013-01-25 14:41:42,582 info [com.adobe.idp.dsc.workmanager.workload.sta...

Thomas,Recording was the big issue. I did see some other instances where it seemed that concurrency might have contributed, but the big issue once I got past the recording was a problem with LiveCycle barcode extraction going into an (apparently) infinite loop with certain documents (and ignoring any timeout settings). A fix for that issue is promised soon.

Thank you for the pointer to the quickstart. Do you have a good reference for handling exceptions from LiveCycle Workbench? Also in response to your other note, I have only Code 128 checked.Rahul K at adobe support has suggested we use the ConvertPDFService "toimage" operation to transform the PDF to TIFF prior to scanning for barcodes and this has helped in some instances, but led to other issues. Apparently "toimage" doesn't like non-flattened documents so we will need to also use the OutputSer...

Thanks Lee. Unfortunately it seems to take forever for LC to throw this exception, and the system gets terribly bogged down if we hit a few of these at the same time.Regarding your suggestion to create a route, do you mean to create an exception event for this type of exception? Can you provide a pointer to documentation for this process?Regarding the suggestion to wrap the decode service in my own code, again, could you point me to documentation or examples? Do you mean writing a java component...

It appears that our LiveCycle ES server (9.5) doesn't remember files that were "in process" when it is restarted. I have watched folder endpoints and I notice folders under "stage" that persist (and contain PDF files that did not produce either a result or a "failure" folder) when we need to restart the LC ES server. Is there anything special we need to do to restart processing of files that are in the "stage" area? If not, where should I start looking to troubleshoot this behavior?Thank you,Noa...

I would like to record a datetime stamp in log message I write at various points in my workflow. When I build my log message using "concat(current-dateTime(), blah blah blah)" the time is formatted in what we used to call zulu time which appears to correspond to GMT, e.g.:2011-02-11T15:35:02Z: Begin processing file 0101-376547-377-109-0.pdfIs there a way to get control of how this data and time are formatted other than retrieving each component individually and concatinating the pieces manually?...
