Licensing concerns for end users of Interactive PDFs - Adobe LiveCycle 22-07-2011
The following is hypothetical...My Company has bought and has licensed some Adobe Creative Suite software in order to use LiveCycle Designer to produce Interactive PDFs for use by any type of Customer - internal to the Company or external to the Company.Once an Interactive PDF has been produced and then distributed out to the Customer, does the Customer need to have a license in place to use the PDF? Does the Company have to ensure the Customer has a License in place? Is the Company going agains...

Interactive PDF vs. Web Site - Adobe LiveCycle 15-06-2011
Maybe I should have asked this question before going down the Interactive PDF route but I was just wondering what people's thoughts were on why you would produce an Interactive PDF rather than a website?Obviously it will depend on the circumstances but what are people's thoughts around the benefits that a PDF brings over a web site? When asked through work I always mention that hosting costs of a web site are removed when using a PDF but what else is there?Thanks.PS. if this question is in the w...

Re: Product Advice - What do I need? - Adobe LiveCycle 25-05-2011
Thanks Paul.I think option 2 that you've provided would definitely be the preferred way to go, especially as it's likely I'll be producing forms for external customers.I'm based in the UK. I've emailed Adobe twice and my Company Procurement Team have tried to contact them too with regards pricing but never got a reply. The last action was to speak to a re-seller who quoted £8k for the Reader Extension Server plus £1.5k for 12 months support/maintenance.Thanks again,

Product Advice - What do I need? - Adobe LiveCycle 25-05-2011
For some reason I can't post this in the actual Product Advice section, so I'm putting it here!I'm currently using the LiveCycle Designer software that comes with Adobe Creative Suite 4. So far this has been satisfactory, however...I'm realising the limitations this version brings so my question is what product/s would be most appropriate in order to do the following within interactive PDFs:1) the ability to get data from and put data into any type of database;2) the ability to save partially co...

Automate page opening within PDF - Adobe LiveCycle 13-05-2011
What do I mean?Well, what I want to know is is there a way of setting a timer to (as an example) a 10 seconds delay after which the next page within the PDF is opened? For example, someone opens up the PDF and the first page is displayed. 10 seconds after opening the PDF, the second page is displayed replacing the first page and so on.Any thoughts? Thanks, as always.

Re: Send encrypted XML, not 'real' XML - Adobe LiveCycle 15-04-2011
If I did something likevar encryptDataFile = encryptData.doEncryptData(xfa.data.saveXML());where I'm calling my encrypt function, then attach 'encryptDataFile' using your add attachments script would that work?I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the limitations of my current LiveCycle set up (CS4) - I know I can do things like connect to databases, send using web services, save data, etc. but can't just yet! The sooner I get ES 2.5 the better! Thanks,

Send encrypted XML, not 'real' XML - Adobe LiveCycle 15-04-2011
I originally put this in a previous post - that was answered, so this bit may have been missed!I can grab the XML of the completed form using xfa.data.saveXML() and then encrypt it, but how do I then attach the encrypted data to the outgoing email INSTEAD of the original un-encrypted XML?Thanks,

PGP Encryption of data - Adobe LiveCycle 15-04-2011
I've seen radzmar's blogs regarding RC4 encryption of form data but was wondering if anyone had ever looked into using PGP or PKI encryption? I've had a brief chat with my Company's Security peeps and it seems a suitable method for transmitting sensitive form data via email, but I've no idea where to start.Has anyone seen it in action? Is anyone using it currently within forms they've developed?Any pointers or info would be useful. Thanks,

Re: Error in the search function in support forums - Adobe LiveCycle 13-04-2011
Kirstine,I was finding issues like that too where I was putting in the word 'encrypt' but it didn't find anything. What I did was click the 'More Options' link and then set the When option to 'All' - this seemed to bring back the search results I needed.Message was edited by: iamthewalrus@adobe
