Re: addInstance with hidden form Luigi_247_365 - Adobe LiveCycle
By design: instanceManager.addInstance(1); adds the original state of that component!Therefore:The reason is that the new instance is also hidden - Make it visible!

Re: Transparent Rectangle/ Fade everythin back Luigi_247_365 - Adobe LiveCycle
kind of like the Flex effect....Um.. i havn't too date come across anything "built in" that does that.You would definatly have to make a custom component/layer!IDEA 1: Have you played with a transparent image, put on a new subformIDEA 2: you could make everything invisible, with a nice grey'd out textured background effect.

Re: How to drawback the submitted data from server? Luigi_247_365 - Adobe LiveCycle
If its an "offline" form:1) Create a webservice on your server that will return xml data based on an input parameter2) Create a dataconnection in your form that connects to the webservice and gets the data

Re: How to troubleshoot a web service query Luigi_247_365 - Adobe LiveCycle
Webservice must return: 'document literal' xml!If it is a .NET webservice.. you probably returning a .NET custom "object" - this is not compatible in the style you want to use it (you would have to fiddle to make it display results)Ensure pure, bare, vanilla xml is being returned by the webservice.

Brian... try direct referencing (its long and extended, but works)here is one example:xfa.form.LeaveApplication.sfLeaveForm.sfFlowedSection.sfLeaveDetails.specialLeaveType.caption.font.fill.color.value = "255, 100, 50";

Re: Tree view Luigi_247_365 - Adobe LiveCycle
For neatness: You could use a Table component that has buttons, etc in its rows.The table can then dynamically grow and shrink according to the button events or other eventsIt just involves a bit of scripting.Looks at the Adobe resources online & google for ways to dynamically make a table grow and shrink.That could help with the user friendly part of it!

Re: combining e-mail submit function w document signature Luigi_247_365 - Adobe LiveCycle
To Combine Signature & other events after that:1) On your signature field, apply a PostSign Event to it.2) From there you can call your hidden email button or write jscript to email or do what you need, "post-ceding" the signature eventThats what i would try.

Not sure I understand 100%:"I have a drop down list, I would like to have a different subform populate with each value on the subform. "but... the quickest, not most efficient way, is:In the exit or change event of your drop down boxxfa.form.FORM1.dropDownList::exit - (JavaScript, client) if (this.rawValue == "1"){ xfa.form.FORM1.Subform1. ... = "what ever";}if (this.rawValue == "2"){ xfa.form.FORM1.Subform2. ... = "what ever2";}hope this helps...?

Most probablyPDFs "limited" javascript for designer doesn't allow access outside the PDF for security purposes.Work Around:Assuming your displaying your PDF on a website --> if you can, pass the IP address as a parameter to the PDF document.Example:http://localhost/yourPDF.pdf?ip=193.65.23.84In your PDF document javascript:event.target.URL// cut your URL parameters up to get what you needthen: fieldname.rawValue = ipExtractedFromURLAssociated methods that will be needed to help you out.decodeURI...
