Re: How to get page-to-page flow? natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
In your Hierarchy, make sure all of your subforms are included in the parent page 1 subform (by default this is named "(untitled Subform) (page 1)"). If the subforms you've built are within separate 'page' subforms, they will not flow upward how you want.Typically, I start building lengthy forms with everything 'positioned' and on as many separate pages as I need, then when I'm finished I set applicable subforms to 'flowed' and move them all up into the parent page 1 subform.

Signature Scribble Not Saving Image File natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
I have a fillable form for operations teams to sign-off on reviewing procedures, etc. The form has a table set up with a button to add new rows so multiple employees can sign, and a separate manager signature field at the bottom. All signatures are 'Signature Scribble' fields, as our legal department does not accept digital certificates/signatures as valid and binding. The problem is, if an employee inserts a .jpeg into the signature scribble field and then saves the file to send to the next empl...

Re: 2 signatures in a pdf form natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Select your 'user' signature field; in the Object panel, go to the Signature tab and uncheck the 'lock fields after signing' box.You can also choose to have the user signature lock only a selection of fields.

Re: Signature process natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi Casey,You may have already done this; check your Signature tab in the Object panel and ensure your fields do not have 'lock fields after signing' selected. It is selected by default when you add a signature field. You can use this tab to have each signature field lock a selection of fields, all fields, or no fields. Also, depending on your form, it may be worthwhile to save it as a 'Static' rather than 'Dynamic' form; in my experience, this seems to help multiple signature fields run smoothly, ...

Re: 'Sign' option greyed out in Adobe Reader DC (Dynamic Form created in Adobe LC) natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
My company is divided into separate units across North America that have varying levels of server access and different types of software. One particular unit had this exact problem. We tried everything we could think of, and the only solution we found was to save it as a 'Static' form, rather than 'Dynamic'. Unfortunately this approach limits the functionality of the form, but it got the job done. Also, our form has multiple digital signature fields, so I had to make sure only one of them (in thi...

Re: Disable fillable fields natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
You should be able to use the Action Builder to set this up for each field you need controlled. You would create a new action, 'When XXX is changed', select the result 'enable or disable a field' and choose the same field (XXX). You might also be able to set the action to disable an entire subform, if you have a bunch of fields you need locked at the same time (you might want to put in a button for this, rather than relying on a change in a given field).I haven't used this particular action resu...

Re: LiveCycle Inquiry natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Looks like you're covered, so just a note:I work for a company with roughly 2200 employees. There are only 3 of us who have Adobe LiveCycle installed directly on our individual computers (not through the company server). I build and edit fillable PDF forms with it, and general users open/fill them with Adobe Reader.LiveCycle has been a fabulous product for us!

Change visibility of a subform based on using/changing an image field in that subform natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hey Everyone,I have a dynamic form with a lot of dependencies and actions, etc., and am wondering if there is a way to change the visibility of a subform from "Visible (screen only)" to "Visible" when a user inserts an image in an image field contained in that subform?I'm not good at javascript, so I mostly use the Action Builder in LiveCycle to get what I want done, but I can't select the image field as a basis for an action in the builder, so it would have to be coded (probably in the 'change'...

Re: Page not aligned with margins, how can I move it? natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
In case others have this issue, what I ended up doing was creating a new blank form, then copying my whole page/subform (JHA), and pasting it into the new form. Everything aligned properly, but I had to rebuild all my actions.

Re: Page not aligned with margins, how can I move it? natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
My Master Page, Page 1, and Content Area all look fine. The fields are all aligned with the left edge of the overall subform/'page' called 'JHA', and are within the content area, but 'JHA' is not aligned with the left edge of the content area. The entire alignment toolbar is grayed out, and I can't grab and move 'JHA'. I can re-size it, but that only changes how far to the right it goes, doesn't move it left at all.

Re: Subform Initial Occurence resets when occurence is zero natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
So the user is saving their own copy of the form after they've removed all subforms, then reopening their copy and using it as a new form? Or just making edits to what they've already filled out?I'm not sure if it's possilbe, but my though would be to have an additional button to 'remove all future instances' (or whatever you want to call it), and have a click event scripted to change the initial count of that subform to 0. I'm no good at scripting, so no idea how you'd write that.

Scripting help please! natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi All,I have multiple repeatable subforms (with subforms within them, and so on), and I want to be able to set a field presence (and possibly a subform border) in the 'HazardControl' subform based on values entered being equal to values entered in the 'JobTask' subform. When filling in the form, the user can add multiple instances of 'JobTask', and multiple instances of 'Hazard' within 'JobTask', as well as multiple instances of 'HazardControl'.I have pretty much no scripting experience except ...

Page not aligned with margins, how can I move it? natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi All,My form has seen a lot of edits over the last few months, and at some point, the 'page' (JHA) moved outside the margins of the content area, and I can't figure out how to move it back. I'm using ES4, all software updates completed about a month ago. Here is a screenshot to show what I mean:The 'page' is not centered, and is outside the content area/margin on the right edge (and inside it on the left). Why? and How can I fix it?Thanks!!!!!

LiveCycle ES4 Save As Button to a specific location? natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi All,I'm wondering if there is a way to set up the Save As Button in LiveCycle to save to a specific location (on a SharePoint team site)?I have a handful of forms that the company wants to use in conjunction with an equipment maintenance software program (CMMS); each original fillable form would be kept within the CMMS database/files so all users can access it, but we'd like the users to be able to save the completed form directly to their team site, without having to navigate there. Yes, it's dynamic. The whole thing is fillable and flowed so the fields can grow, plus I have a lot of fields that are dependent on actions throughout. Here are a couple of screenshots:

Image markup in a LiveCycle ES4 form. natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi All,I built a form in LiveCycle ES4 that has an image in it (not an image field, just an image), and I'd like for users to be able to put in an arrow or X or something wherever they want on top of the image. The image is a body diagram, and the user is supposed to mark where an injury (or multiple injuries) is on the diagram. All I've been able to find are threads about using comments in Adobe Pro, but a) my users mostly only have Reader, and b) the form is Reader Extended, so commenting isn't...

How do I specify which fields/subforms are submitted with a button? natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi Folks,I have a form with a whole bunch of subforms with a lot of show/hide dependencies, wrapped into 2 main subforms. I have a submit button in each of the 2 main subforms, but they submit the entire form; how do I change the standard submit button code to gather only 1 of the main subforms (where the button is contained)? The code LiveCycle automatically put in for the buttons is: I'm assuming I need to change something in xdpContent? I have basically no coding experience, any help would b...

Hi All,Just wondering if there's a way to change the default event code for an email submit button to grab only a specified subform (for example, page 1) in LiveCycle ES4? If so, could someone please provide the extra bit of code I need to insert? Here is the existing code:event name="event_click" activity="click"submit format="pdf" textEncoding="UTF-16" target="mailto:.... I was using buttons before, but the users didn't like the look of having the buttons on the form. Personally I like it better that way too.Thank-you SO SO much for all your help; you're fantastic!

Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for. The code you sent works perfectly for adding rows, so I need another action to remove extra rows.

Re: New table rows skipped in tab order. Livecycle ES4 natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
This is awesome!!Could you add some code to remove the last instance of Row1 if it is empty/not changed? If we can do that, it will be perfect and I will use this code in a whole bunch of forms (hurray!!!).PS - do you have any recommendations on a good online coding tutorial? I think it would help me solve a lot of minor issues.

Yes, I am using ES4; if you could send me the code (and tell me where to put it) that would be amazing!!I tried setting the action to 'when 'fieldname' is changed...' but it added a new row for every character I typed in the field. Honestly, I have no idea why it works in one form (users have no issues with it, and I know they're not using the current version of Reader) and not the other, or why it doesn't work for you in either form. And also, thank-you thank-you thank-you!!!

I'm wondering if it was a problem with the link actually, since I ended up having a 2 hour call with IT yesterday to try and make my computer work...Try these links:Form where the actions/tab order works fine: Dropbox - FRM-AB-003-W-WW-Ops Summary Emerald Bay.pdfForm where the same thing doesn't work, and I'm probably missing something basic: Dropbox - FRM-AB-005-W-WW-Monthly Operations Report.pdf

hmmm...sorry my file didn't work.I've used this same action in other forms and it automatically changed the tab order correctly when adding the new row, so I know it works, I just don't know what's wrong with this particular form. Thanks for trying!!

Thanks for responding! The action is as follows (in the 'action builder'):Condition: When text field "fieldname" is not emptyResult: Add a new instance of "Row1"The result is dependent on exiting the condition field.Does that help? I'm not knowledgable in coding...Here is my form, so you can see what I'm working with: https://www.dropbox.com/l/s/P7JROAecSqDc9fqhYnrslp

New table rows skipped in tab order. Livecycle ES4 natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi,I've built a form that has a few tables (all in flowed subforms) that each have an action to add a new instance of the row if the last cell is not empty. I've done this before in other forms and had no issues, but for some reason in this form when I tab out of the cell and it adds a new row, it puts the cursor in the next field after the table, skipping the new row. My tab order is set to automatic, so I have no idea why it's not tabbing into the new row.I found some discussions about this ha...
