ES2 best practice for how much stuff should be in one application? - Adobe LiveCycle 17-06-2010
I'm wondering if there is a best practice/recommended amount of the maximum amount of forms/processes/etc that you should have contained within one application in ES2? I have an application which has about 5 processes, and has over 300 xdp forms. When "deploying" the application it takes probably over 5 minutes or longer. It seems to be working fine but i'm curious if this will cause any problems and if there is a recommended threshold?

ES2 workspace startpoint - form intermittently not rendering - Adobe LiveCycle 09-06-2010
I have a fairly simple workbench process which is kicked off by at Workspace/Task Manager endpoint. When going to Start Process and opening the task in Workspace... sometimes it renders/opens properly... and sometimes it just stalls on the moving blue circle and never opens (I've left it sit for over 10 minutes with nothing happening). Without making any changes to the process, sometimes it opens and some times is does not. Is there any reason this would be happening??The asset i'm using is a ba...

Re: "Read Timed out" error after 10 minutes of a short-lived process running - Adobe LiveCycle 01-06-2010
No web service invocations, no database connection. Yes, there is some looping logic that goes through every sub-folder we have set up in contentspace (~130 folders), and loops through each piece of content in those folders. The loops are ended properly when all list are gone through, and this has been verified because with a smaller amount of forms stored in Contentspace, the process will complete in a few minutes. And no errors in the server log when I recieve the timeout error in workbench.

"Read Timed out" error after 10 minutes of a short-lived process running - Adobe LiveCycle 25-05-2010
I have a rather time consuming process that loops for quite a bit before completing. It is a short-lived process. In the process configuration I changed the Transaction Settings > Timeout to 18000 seconds (5 hrs) and it still times out after 10 minutes exactly. The error I get is "Read Timed Out" in Workbench. I left the Propagation as "Requires New" because I am not sure what that is. Do I need to change that? Is there something else that is causing the time out? Can a short-lived process only ...

Re: restrict access to task manager endpoint for certain users? - Adobe LiveCycle 26-02-2010
Jasmin -This solves my problem! So... I never thought to look to see if Contentspace User role had the Services Invoke permission, ugh!PS the ones in our AD also have both Workspace User and Contentspace User roles... so it was the same problem. I tested it out and now have the expected results. Thanks a lot for your help.

Re: restrict access to task manager endpoint for certain users? - Adobe LiveCycle 25-02-2010
Also...I also found that with the default/sample setup (with the sample users John Jacobs, Kara Bowman, etc) and without touching any of their roles and without our LDAP sync, users like John Jacobs can invoke my task manager endpoint without being in the Services User role or any Admin role.

Re: restrict access to task manager endpoint for certain users? - Adobe LiveCycle 24-02-2010
Thanks Jasmin... I in fact get the expected result when i created a new user with Workspace_User role and put them in a new group, they are unable to see my process. So this works in the DefaultDom... however, in my real world scenario I am still having issues:-we are doing LDAP sync to bring in the users and groups from a separate domain, and in this case, the users with only Workspace_User role can still invoke the task manager endpoint-the process was created in Workbench ES2I was hoping to fi...

Re: restrict access to task manager endpoint for certain users? - Adobe LiveCycle 23-02-2010
Thanks Jon, that was definitely helpful. I understand that this is how it works in ES1, however I am now using ES2 and am having trouble getting this same setup to work. Do you know if there is any difference with ES2?I have a user WITHOUT the 'invoke' permission, and for the service itself there is no principals listed under the Security tab of the Service in the admin UI. However, as this user i am still able to see the process and invoke it through the task manager endpoint.

restrict access to task manager endpoint for certain users? - Adobe LiveCycle 22-02-2010
Does anyone know if there is a way to limit/restrict the users that can access or submit a Task Manager endpoint in Workspace? In my scenario, we have a large group of users with the "LiveCycle Workspace User" role, however we only want a smaller subset of these users to be able to submit forms under the Start Processes in Workspace.I had thought if a user only has the "Workspace User" role and not the "Services User" role (which includes invoke permissions), that said user would not be able to ...
