Hi all,Wonder if anyone can help please:On a text field within a table cell, I want to select "limit length to visible area". When I do, I get the error icon and the message says "This object may not work properly. Limit to visible area is ignored on fields set to expand to fit".. But, none of the fields are set to "expand to fit" (box below) so I don't know why I get this message. However, the table itself defaults to "auto fit" (box below) and that box is checked, but it's grayed-out so I can'...

(hope I have the right forum area since things have changed . . .)Hello everyone! I need a script that will populate a text field when a radio button (or check box) is clicked. The one I have been working with has not been successful and I'm not really good with javascript. Specifically, I have several glossary terms that I will use with the buttons or boxes (one for each term) and if the button/box is chosen, then I need the definition of that glossary term to populate a text field. I've got th...

Graham,This script has worked well for me in the past, but now I have a checkbox (hirebox) that when checked, pops up another field (hiredate) which must be filled before printing will be allowed. Here's the script I have applied to the Print button:form1.#subform[0].PrintButton1::click - (JavaScript, client)if((hirebox.rawValue == 1) & (startdate.rawValue == null)){ xfa.host.messageBox("Oh-sorry! You must enter a start date at the top of this form to be able to print.")} else{ PrintButton1.exec...

Hello all,I have 2 tables, one is above the other on the page. They are named "majtable" and "eductable", all the rows in both tables are named "row" and all the cells for the colums to add are all named "mhours".Here's my formula in formcalc (calculation event) sum(majtable.row[*].mhours[*] + eductable.row[*].mhours[*])It's is saved as dynamic and the preview is dynamic/interactive.It won't add the mhours cells for both tables together. I can get one table to calculate or the other, but not bot...

Well, I'm very sorry to put you through all that just to discover it doesn't like the version I was using. At any rate, I do thank you very much for your help and your time - I always learn something new in the process whether it's directly related to my question or not.If you do discover some secret about why it won't work in 10 or how to make it so, then please let me know.For now though - thanks again!

Well, I had version 10 but it didn't work when tested. So I got rid of that and downloaded 9.5 and it worked.What version did you use?Do you have any idea why it wouldn't work for 10? In form properties under Target Version, I created the form to work in Reader 8.1 or later. Do I need to change it to 9.0 or later (i.e. will it work with Reader 10 then)?

Thanks so much for taking a look . . .Sorry, the left is set as a radio button - I was testing to see if a radio button would work and obviously, it didn't. Yes, the right was set as a checkbox, but it doesn't work either (for me anyway). At any rate, I did change it to a checkbox but no luck - it still won't uncheck for me.** Did the right checkbox uncheck for you?

Removing from the Initialize event didn't work - now the information just shows all the time whether or not the box is checked.Here's the script: if (litstudiesckkbox.rawValue==1) {subform1.presence = "visible"}else {subform1.presence = "hidden"}

I using the same script for a checkbox but it's not working properly. When I check the box, other information becomes visible - that works fine. But it won't uncheck so that the information then disappears and this is very problematic. I've got the script on the Initialize and the Change events, Perserve Scripting Changes is set to Automatically. Render Format is for Dynamic and it is saved as such also.Any guidance you can give?Thanks!

Despite getting some very valuable help in this forum with a javascript code, I still cannot get the checkbox to uncheck. The goal is to check a checkbox (or radio button) and doing so will make boxes/information underneath visible. The code given to me was:if (litstudiesckkbox.rawValue==1) {subform1.presence="visible"}else {subform1.presence="hidden"}I was advised to put it on the "initialize" and and the "change" events. It works beautifully except for 1 major flaw, I can't now uncheck the box...

I didn't see the form attached but no matter . . . I also changed the box back to a checkbox and I changed the form property you indicated, and I viewed in Acrobat Pro to no avail. It will will not uncheck for me. This seems like such a straightforward thing, I can't imagine why it won't work . . .

I’ve been through so many trials with this and I forgot to tell you - so sorry. It was a check box initially but I changed it to a radio button to see if that would work. Neither checkbox nor radio button worked. Such a little thing and so frustrating.

It works! OK - One more question: now the check box won't let me uncheck it. There may be a senario where I'll need to do this.Any thought on this?

Hello All,I've found a lot of people asking similar questions but I'm not finding what works for me. On my form, I have a checkbox and underneath the checkbox are numerical fields (with global settings which populate from other places) - a (rough) screen capture is shown below. I only want the numerical fields to show if the checkbox (example: Concentration: Literary Studies checklist) is checked. Do I make all the numerical fields a subform or indicate them all separately in the javascript? Wha...

I think I've got the script correct (preferences are set to Formcalc and dynamic, formcalc is selected in the scripting area of the form) TopmostSubform.Page1.PrintButton1::click - (FormCalc, client)xfa.host.print(1, "0", (xfa.host.numPages -1).toString(), 0, 0, 0, 0, 0);if (DropDownList1.rawValue == null) thenxfa.host.messageBox("You must choose an academic area to be able to print this form")elsePrintButton1.execEvent("click")endi...

Thanks for your help - this problem seems obstinate . . .I had already done steps 1-3. Step 4 cleared a bunch of font warnings, but didn't fix the preview problem. I'm not sure I understand step 5 but at any rate,Ctrl+J doesn't do anything from design view or PDF preview.I noticed that it previews in Adobe Pro rather than reader, but it did that before and preview always worked. Should it preview in Pro, or Reader or does it matter either way?

Hey Niall -First, my LC is v 8.2.1.3144.1.471865. Right at first, I didn't pay much attention to the strange happenings but tried to work around them so, sadly, I can't tell you much about them. However, the trouble I'm having now is that when I click on the PDF Preview tab, the page is blank gray and there is a pop-up ( or dialogue) box which has nothing but a question mark in it. That was earlier today. As I'm typing this message to you, I try again so that I can describe it correctly. This ti...

I've searched and searched for answers to my questions to no avail so I'm asking yall. Recently, I was updated to Windows 7 Professional (service pack 1) and have had various and sundry problems with Adobe acrobat products and with creating/viewing forms in Livecycle.Cutting to the chase: I have Acrobat Pro 9. If I purchase the newest version of Pro (and Livecycle) will problems be fixed, or is debugging still in progress?Thanks!
