Hi, Fang.I know that it works, but I was wondering if you or anyone had created pre-built "tiles" for Mosaic that encapsulated the various LCCS pods and their functionality. Thanks,Rick

Are there any limitations (storage space, number of items, time period) for retention of chat history on the LCCS server(s)?Also, any suggestions on the optimal API to access chat history so that it can be easily crawled/used by a custom search engine? Thanks,Rick

We're about to move some of our code base to Flex 4, and I wanted to check in advance if there would be any issues with ALCS using Flex 4 Beta 2 and Flash Builder Beta 2.Thanks,Rick

It's on, but definitely a bit "sluggish" in terms of loading pages...A curious question: The new forums are powered by Jive Clearspace - with the advent of Jive SBS, aren't they sorta a direct competitor to AFCS? Or an interesting acquisition...? 😉

Hi, Hironmay. I pretty much copied your code exactly. Theonly difference is that I am also changing the sharedID as I switchfrom room to room.

Hi, Hironmay. No, that approach doesn't work, unfortunately. While it doesreconnect to the new room URL, the history pane in the chat pod iscleared but never updated with the history from the new room. Asyou may recall from the last discussion, I created a workaroundthat involved subclassing SimpleChat, and adding an "unsubscribe"method, using the attached code.Rick

As you well know, there is already a proliferation ofoccasionally convergent, but generally divergent, collaborationtechnologies, applications, platforms, and providers out theretoday. In an "always connected" world, the typical actor will findhis/herself needing to jump between/across their multiple"communities" using, quite often, different modalities and devices(voice, video, text, e-mail, blog entry, activity stream via phone, netbook, handset, etc.). To "find someone" and to initiatereal-tim...

Just a heads up that historyFontSize has no effect on theappearance of the SimpleChat pod, either when provided in the MXMLtag or explicitly set in actionscript.

I originally raised the issue (and a fix) in http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=759&threadid=1413563.I think it was intended to be fixed in the most recent build, butlooks like it was not. It seems that the key missing piece is toassign _model = null in the pod's close() method.

The easy way, I suppose, would just to embed SparkWeb as a"side-by-side" pod, with some type of real or faked single sign onscheme, but it sure would be nice to have support for a nativeXMPP/Jabber-based IM client in AFCS...or XMPP/RTMPinteroperability.Can anyone at Adobe speak to concrete plans on this front? We're looking at Jive SBS right now for some of these reasons, plussupport for VOIP integration via Asterisk, Red5, and others. To that end, any plans for SIP/VOIP integration in AFCS(beyond...

A few things could help:1) A persistent list of user "friends", so that within anaccount, individual user(s) could have these list(s) saved andcould be used for "roomless collaboration" (basically, enablingAFCS to act as a generic IM client). Only "room-based" chats andcollaborations would be persisted.2) A "generic room" or "lobby"3) A live list of who is connected and live in any and allrooms, including the lobby (with the ability for a user to cloakthemselves if the account/room is configured...

Hi, Raff. That's what I had already tried, but the pods don't re-synchto the new room. In looking at the source for the chat pod, itlooks like the model doesn't get set to null on close/disconnect,and this seems to be causing issues.Unfortunately, the _model member is read-only (only providesa getter) so I couldn't force it to null to see if that was theissue.Rick

Rumor has it that there is an internal build floating aboutwith screen sharing capability... 😉Do you plan interim code drops on a frequent basis or 3-6month beta cycles?

I'll poke around in the code and see what I can come upwith...I don't think there's such a thing as an FXG "parser" yet(even in Gumbo, other than in the compiler) so I might have tocreate something to read in arbitrary FXG and add it to the UImodel/render it dynamically. Might be useful for Gumbo also.

Hmm. It seems that if I log in as guest now, I get fullcontrol. Is there some type of authentication caching (e.g.cookie/session not expiring) occurring?

Thanks for the info. In that case, the bug is actually theopposite - the "Save Selected File" button in the FileShare podshould be enabled when a guest is logged in, but it is not. 😉

In the FileShare pod, which logged in as a guest, the uploadand save file buttons are correctly disabled, however, doubleclicking on a file still allows the "guest" user to downloadit.

Hi, Cocomo team. At the same time I've been working with theCocomo SDK, I've also been experimenting with the Flex 4 SDK/Gumbo.A logical intersection of the two would be in leveraging FXG as theformat for the whiteboard application in Cocomo. This would providea very simple way to serialize/save the whiteboard state in aneasily consumable way. The elements currently supported in thewhiteboard can all be reproduced/rendered in their FXG analog quiteeasily.Just a thought...

Hi, Nigel.I did have it at 9.X.X, but when attempting to change it to10.0.0 (using Flex SDK 3.1), it could no longer compile since itcouldn't find the playerglobal.swc for flash viewer 10. I switchedover to Flex SDK 4.0 and it compiled and ran flawlessly. Thanks!RickRick
