This has been rough - especially when converting classic RTE plugins to Touch UI RTEs.Companies have spent a lot of time creating customized RTE functionality and the ability to not quickly convert say, 3 types of blockquotes added to the previous styles in Classic, but converting them to Touch means I have to recreate the entire styles as a span and then move the styles. It seems that being able to define a Block Level element and a class(es) along with it would be straight forward and standard ...

Thanks for the responses. I know its open source and if time allows I will look into making the necessary changes for it to play with 6.4 better and submit a pull request.I was just more curious if anyone had similar experiences with it in 6.4.

It doesn't appear the dialog conversion tool works in AEM 6.4.I convert a dialog, it created the cq-dialog node (but its created in Coral UI 2, not 3) and it isn't removed from the list.I am using a fresh install of AEM 6.4 and I built from the latest source of the Dialog Conversion Tool.Anyone have success with the DCT (dialog conversion tool) in 6.4?

You can use the type property of the DatePicker Touch UI component to "time" to only use hours and minutes.DatePicker — Granite UI 1.0 documentation But, depending on what your goal you might run into issues - as this stores the property as a date and not a string, as the timefield does. This could cause issues if your trying to use both dialogs while moving authors over to touch ui. Then you would need to follow Scott's advice and create a custom Touch UI Granite Component.

Can someone explain to me when you would actually use the component in a dialog? Is this strictly for semantics?Layout — Granite UI 1.0 documentation I've done experimenting, and it doesn't matter if I add the node as a subresource to a container-like component or not. Did this change from 6.1 to 6.3? I know that in 6.1 Coral was v2 and in 6.3 it was v3.In 6.1 I used tabs all the time, and it required the node to work. In 6.3, it doesn't seem to be necessary, as its a container-like component...

Right, I actually looked at that implementation many times when trying to debug this to see if I was doing anything different.I'm not.I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the context of where my code is being called.Within my class, as i am implementing a transformer, I have the following method:@Overridepublic void startElement(String uri, String localName, String qName, Attributes atts) throws SAXException { log.error("Inside of Start Element - local name of = " + localName); BuildUrl()...

Hi.Maybe I need to break down my service into a few services, but here is whats going on.I am needing to modify certain links generated inside of AEM. To do this, I am working with SAX and the Transformer and TransformerFactory interfaces.Within my service's activate method, everything works fine. I have access to the referenced ResourceResolverFactory:@Referenceprivate ResourceResolverFactory resolverFactory;@Activateprotected void activate(Map properties) { log.error("[[[ Inside of Activate ]]...

My question is more about what is happening behind these methods I suppose. Why does one fail on publish and on does not.The resolve() method will work on publish instances when not logged in, and the getResource() will not. I am more curious on why that is? How is the algorithm on how these two methods get the resource different? Does one use the user session and one does not?

When developing we've come across the permissions/dispatcher issue of the getResource() method breaking page. These forums suggested that we needed to use resolve() method instead of the getResource() method and that does work, but I am more interested in why that works.I understand that it has to do with not having the appropriate permissions, because you might be trying to get a resource that an anonymous user does not have access to.But in the end, they both return a Resource. Can anyone explai...

I also find it very helpful to use the Ternary Operator in conjunction with the size/length to optionally add classes to an element. Just another front-end tip.

I'd suggest getting back to the state of the bundles installing and showing that dependencies cannot be resolved, and checking those against the depfinder of that particular instance of AEM: /system/console/depfinder

Curious if anyone has a good strategy for handling the following scenario:Have a maven based project that builds two artifacts - ui.apps and ui.content - if you are familiar with the AEM archetype. Now, we have created a component that looks for a particular property on a specific resource, for this lets say the node exists here:/content/project/admin-page/speedbump/settings/jcr:content/main/settingsNow there are two hypothetical situations:1 - The settings page (/content/project/admin-page/speed...

I have never used an RTE in a dialog. Typically your RTEs are inline text and have their own 'dialog' field. When using multiple RTEs, have you tried nesting them directly into your components markup? For example, say i have the following 'cool-component'.cool-component.html ${properties.heading} When doing it this way, I would also create a 'cq:template' node for this particular component that defines some properties of 'primarytext' and 'secondarytext'. Let me know if you need an examp...

I can't tell what is causing this error in my AEM 6.1 instances.I hate asking for help in cases where there is no clear way to recreate the problem, because half the time I load the page, it doesn't error out, but the other half of the time it does.I am really looking for any advice to help DEBUG the issue. I have googled it and it appears I am not the only one having the issue, but that it mainly has to do with the multifield.Anyone out there seeing this javascript error and/op found a solution...

I found the problem and am posting it here in case anyone else comes across this issue. If you are trying to minify a clientlib of embedded clientlibs and one of the embedded clientlibs fails to resolve, then it will not minify and throw a 404 when calling on that minified clientlib.A tool I used to help was the clientlibs validation which will show unresolvable clientlibs in red:http://localhost:4502/libs/granite/ui/content/dumplibs.validate.html-Tyler

I have a clientlib that I call an 'aggregator' clientlib. It's sole purpose is to collect all of our front end component cllientlibs and send them in 1 request. For some reason, the minification that works with other clientlibs doesn't work on these types of clientlibs where there are no real javascript files. I've even gone in and created a javascript file to see if that would fix the issue by at least having a single javascript file in the clietnlib, but it does not.Has anyone had this problem?...

We still get this from time to time. Is there an updated version of Content-Package-Maven-Plugin that resolves this? It looks like we are on .0.0.24 and version 0.5.21 is available... Does anyone know if that successfully resolves the issue? https://repo.adobe.com/nexus/content/groups/public/com/day/jcr/vault/content-package-maven-plugin/

Incredible that I posted this nearly 1 1/2 years ago.I have learned a LOT since this post. I should honestly blog more to get the information I have learned to share with the development community.I implemented an angular app inside of AEM, it feels a bit wonky because the APP for for authors, not front end users, but needs to run in Author to update nodes in the backend. (kind of a mistake in retrosepect, but there isn't a great way to mass-edit resources with built in AEM Touch UI components)A...

This is certainly what I have experienced when playing with these different modes.Thank you for showing me the underlying jackrabbit documentation for this functionality. In regards to fixing the documentation, does anyone know if there is a way to submit fixes for the documentation or what the process is?I would also like to know if it is possible to set these options when creating the packages in package manager. Thanks again.

Hello AEM Friends,I have a question regarding the different import Mode's in the Content-Package-Maven-Plugin.According to the documentation there are 3 modes:Merge: Content in the package that is not already in the repository is added. Content that is in both the package and the repository is unchanged. No content is removed from the repository. Replace: Content in the package that is not in the repository is added to the repository. Content in the repository is replaced with matching content i...

From what I know, and please anyone correct me if I am wrong, there is no overlaying of clientlibs.Clientlibs are registered globally via a 'Category Name'.Categorys are then called on to be placed into a page.If you create a custom javascript, and add it to a category that already exists, say 'cq.authoring.dialog' then when that clientlib is called, that code gets called as well. If you create a file that already exists in the clientlib, it doesn't replace that file during clientlib resolution,...

Interesting. The parsys wasn't made with this in mind because the idea is to give the Authors the flexibility to move around the resources inside via a visual GUI.The need sounds like you are creating pages and or other resources that you want displayed in a list. I can think of like blog posts or something like that.I would suggest creating a component that has some back end functionality that will build out a list of the resources you are trying to display and then feed them in whatever shape o...

None of the the custom components we have built out are allowed to have annotations added to them. They are built using Sightly/HTLI have researched the documentation and these forums and found no information on enabling annotations for components. We are hoping to use these in our workflow to provide feedback. Can anyone point me to documentation or any reference that explains the developers role in enabling annotations for components?Cheers,-Tyler

After playing around, here is the approach I use now involves using cq:template to prefill the resource with a checked value. Just make sure the name of the value you are saving, and the value that is set when checked are present in the cq:template.Component:cq:dialog: cq:template checkbox.html${properties.myValue}
