i have recently been seeing an exception that happens intermittently when i try to sync to a room. it happens after i log in and start receiving nodes. i've pasted the stack trace below. what would be causing this? also, where can i place a try/catch block to catch this exception within my own application so that i can deal with it appropriately?Main Thread (Suspended: ArgumentError: Error #2129: Connection to G:01010103010c060e50696e677300 failed.)flash.net::NetGroup/ctor [no source]flash.net::...

this is happening to me on os x 10.7, LCCS 2.2 , firefox 8.0.1sometimes when initiating screen sharing, and *especially* when requesting remote control, the connectnow plugin dialog will appear behind other windows so it is essentially hidden. this is especially a problem when you are requesting to control another user's screen - the permission dialog pops open behind other windows so they never see it.this may not be an LCCS issue but i can't find anything to address this in ConnectNow forums. ...

thanks for resolving this raff. let me take this opportunity to vote for an error event to be made available to the client when this situation arises in the future. either way, thanks for the quick response and action.

Thanks for the above update Jeff! It is good to hear that Adobe isn't abandoning Flash completely, however, I must say that I agree with adam+k and BartoszMar. This is not going to sit well with many people, even if we have to move to an FMS solution on our own. Could it not be possible to keep LCCS up for the time being. The API is almost perfect and wouldn't need much support. Perhaps you could keep a couple of engineers around (Arun would be my first choice) to maintain the server and do smal...

As far as I can tell this can't be easily fixed. It's at artifact of the way the video was recorded. Since the webcam and audio publishers are separate, they end up in separate streams. Because of this fact, the streams can't be synchronized either live or during playback. From what I've looked at, it seems that the only fix is to make a combined audio/video publisher that would be the union of the webcam/audio publishers. I've started doing this with good results so far, but it's a long way fro...

from prior threads i've seen that the PiP mode in WebCamera was given up on, and i can only seem to set side by side layout mode anyway. is PiP mode going to be available in the spark version of LCCS? if not, can one the of developers let me know how i would go about subclassing WebCamera to ensure that the publisher's video is not added to the WebCamera layout? i've tried a few things, such as setting sbsSubscriber.webcamPublisher = null, and removing the publisher's video forcefully from the d...

i tried that setting, but p2p connections are still happening. the user descriptors show p2p = true, and watching the room console shows very little data usage. i also tried connecting 4 instances of the app and have four video streams going, but the room console is only showing trivial bandwidth. what am i doing wrong here? are there any other settings i should be aware of?

Hi Adam,There is bug at our end, but you still can change microphone device while publishing. There is some race condition happening which results in an exception that you posted. So the sequence causing the issue is,1) You stop mic A's stream2) You start mic B3) Mic A is still cached and mic B is not created , resulting in the exceptionTHe right sequence should be1) Stop mic A's stream2) Wait until the client confirms that A is cleaned up3) Start Mic B.So listen for StreamEvent.STREAM_DELETE eve...

so i would have to build a flex app to log into the room as OWNER, then set ConnectSession.RoomManager.knockingQueue.roleForManaging=50? i assume only the OWNER can set roleForManaging to something less than OWNER?that's not practical at all. i'm building an automated service with many rooms that are programatically generated. having to run and launch a flex app to configure the room just doesn't make sense.

i guessed this and so built my own ping mechanism. i created a CollectionNode and a Node to pass ping messages. in the NodeConfiguration, i set allowPrivateMessages=true and p2pDataMessaging=true.i'm also enforcing the room to be p2p only (i check for isRTMFP when sync completes). do the above steps ensure that the collectionNode.publishItem() calls are being passed via p2p and not through FMS?second question : setting MessageItem.recipientID is the way to send a private message from one user to...

Me too would love to see some built in prompt for this so that I can require users to open those ports.Kind of like the Windows firewall exception popup as explained here:http://oit.ncsu.edu/resnet/firewall-allowFlash can already prompt for access to user camera and user audio, why couldn't it prompt for opening ports?

i'm stumped, this could be simply a flex container behavior that i'm not understanding, but i can't see why this is happening. i have a WebcamSubscriber displaying my own webcam. it's "selfWebcamSubscriber" as seen below. when i log into LCCS directly, the WebcamSubscriber properly stretches to fill the entire width and height of its container.however, when i log in using external authentication first, the WebcamSubscriber seems to have an aspect ratio forced on it, looks like a 2/3rds ratio. it...

i have a problem with the SharedWhiteBoard when i'm typing really long text entries with the text tool. when i commit the text, the text area overruns the bounds of the whiteboard and is clipped on either side. i realize that the whiteboard component is still under development so perhaps this is a bug that hasn't been addressed yet. are there any properties to set on SharedWhiteBoard to ensure that the text area is sized to stay within the bounds of the whiteboard?i've attached a screenshot to i...

Hi,It did work for me. Can you share your code... I pasted the code I used to test...It would be undefined the first time you run. Click on the button to set some value. Close the app, and run the second time, and I see the sharedProperty value on just subscribing.ThanksArun import com.adobe.rtc.events.CollectionNodeEvent; import com.adobe.rtc.events.SharedPropertyEvent; import com.adobe.rtc.sharedModel.SharedProperty; import flashx.textLayout.tlf_internal; import mx.controls.Alert; import mx.events.FlexEvent; [Bindable] protected var _sharedProperty:SharedProperty ; protected function cSession_creationCompleteHandler(event:Event):void { if (cSession.isSynchronized) { _sharedProperty = new SharedProperty(); _sharedProperty.sharedID = "sProp" ; _sharedProperty.connectSession = cSession ; _sharedProperty.addEventListener(SharedPropertyEvent.CHANGE,onChange); _sharedProperty.addEventListener(CollectionNodeEvent.SYNCHRONIZATION_CHANGE, onSyncChange); _sharedProperty.subscribe(); } } protected function startBtn_clickHandler(event:Event):void { // TODO Auto-generated method stub Alert.show(sPText.text); trace("Settinga random value"); _sharedProperty.value = (Math.random()*1000).toString(); } protected function onChange(p_evt:SharedPropertyEvent):void { if (sPText) { sPText.text += p_evt.value; } } protected function onSyncChange(p_evt:CollectionNodeEvent):void { if (sPText) { sPText.text += _sharedProperty.value; } }

hey guys, you probably can't answer this but if i don't ask at all, you definitely can't answer, so here goes:i'm greatly interetested in the recording beta, i've signed up and am working with it. any ETA on when it might be ready for production? a few months? half a year? ask because i have a client who needs this service and i'm trying to give them a non comittal estimate for when they could possibly deploy.

Hi,From the error I see that your room is not even set up in the first place. (ie the all the required collection nodes are not initialized) . So before invoking an LCCS application you must login as an owner of the room and set up the room for other users.ThanksArun

i need to provide a live report of users' latency in a room.in UserManager i see the event "userPingDataChange" as well as the setPingData() function. i assume the event is dispatch when that function is called, but where do i get the p_latency and p_drops values? are these values relative to the FMS server only?in the case where users are connected via p2p, i obviously need to measure latency from each user to all other users. is there a built in function in the API for me to do this, or do i n...

There is a propert "suppressDebugTraces" in ConnectSession that you can set to false to disable LCCS traces. You can also specify a different "trace" function in com.rtc.util.DebugUtil.traceFunction if, for example, in AIR you want to save those messages in a file, or if you want to display them in a special debug window.

following up on this..is there anything in the AFCS API that allows me to get the total streamed kbytes in and out for the current ConnectSession? my intention is to poll this data every X seconds and record the total data usage for each user, so that i can keep track of individual usage and charge customers accordingly. i realize that i should first check if the users' connection is p2p or fms, and charge only for fms.this is a short term solution until i can directly query the AFCS server for ...

thanks for the response nigel. forgive me if i'm misunderstanding something, but in terms of bandwidth, what difference does it make if when a new user arrives you create a new stream out via p2p or via FMS? it's still a stream, only the protocol differs.
