Re: Where to purchase LiveCycle / AEM Forms Designer? joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Well yes, and I’ve been continuing to use Livecycle for a few years now. Here’s my problem though. My copy of Adobe Pro & Livecycle came bundled with Adobe Design & Web Premium CS6 which includes a lot of the Adobe graphics applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc) that I use on a daily basis. However, due to it being older software now, I often get graphics files that I cannot open because of versioning issues. I thought it would be a simple matter of installing the newer Creative Cl...

Re: Where to purchase LiveCycle / AEM Forms Designer? joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Thanks for that insight. So what then are small businesses who rely on XFA forms typically doing now? I‘m curious to know what the replacement is. We purchased Livecycle years ago for a fraction of what the cost is now for AEM Forms Designer. I’m happy to move on to the latest and greatest, but I have yet to figure out what that is.

Re: Where to purchase LiveCycle / AEM Forms Designer? joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
charlesp65418926 I am in the same boat. I have been trying since Oct 1 to purchase a standalone copy of AEM Forms Designer. I have been pushed back and forth from Adobe to 4Point (their 3rd party retailer) more times that I can count. I sat on hold with Adobe one day for literally 2 HOURS and no one ever picked up the line. I finally got an email from Adobe yesterday telling me that they no longer sell single user licenses for AEM Forms Designer, and that my only option was to purchase a 10-pac...

Re: Switch statement default setting joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
I've tried that, but it isn't working. My code is:switch (this.rawValue){//all the casesdefault: portal.presence = "visible"; break; }The "portal" text field is visible by default, but when you select one of the few options that has it set to hidden, it does disappear, but if you then go back and select any other option that does NOT have its presence specified, it doesn't become visible again. Am I missing anything?

Switch statement default setting joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
I have a dropdown with a switch statement in the exit event with about 80 "cases". There are only 3 of them though that if they are selected, the presence of a text field needs to change to "hidden". Without having to put a "presence" statement on every single case, is there a more efficient way to change the presence of the text field if one of the 3 are selected, and then defaulting back to a "visible" presence if anything else is selected? Thanks!

Looping through subforms to hide subforms containing an unchecked Checkbox joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi all! I am stuck and would love a little help. I have a form with about 5 levels of subforms. I'm trying run a script with a button click that loops through each subform and hides any subforms that contain an unchecked Checkbox. Here is my hierarchy:So far, I've created a script object called "hide" that has this:function ToggleRows(reset){ var Rows = form1.page1.middle.ADDITIONS.EMR.Checkboxes.cb.all; var curRow; for (var i=0; i

Unable to Add Custom Object to Library Group?? joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
I recently upgraded computer and reinstalled Livecycle on my new computer. On the new computer, in Livecycle, when trying to add a custom object to the Object Library, I get the following message box:"Unable to add object 'name' to library group."I've checked and made sure that under Group Properties, all of the "Allow objects..." items are checked. The location of the libraries are in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Designer 9.0\EN\Objects\ folder. Any idea what's going on? This is...

I'm trying to script a form which would include a user-defined dropdown list.So in my form, I have a simple single-column dynamic table in which the user can add and delete rows. In the same form, I have a dropdown list. I want to build an array from the table, and then populate the dropdown list from that array. Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks!Jo

Re: Dynamic Form is painfully slow to open and edit joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi Bruce. Yes, unfortunately, the patient did not make it! On my computer, it also still runs slowly. I can see a slight improvement, but I'm sure the users of the form will still not be satisfied with the delays.I think I would like to proceed with your suggestion of making the calls to the script with a calculate button. I will work on this over the next couple of days and see if I can get that to work. I think the users would be ok with the totals not updating immediately as long as they are ...

Re: Dynamic Form is painfully slow to open and edit joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Thanks Bruce! That actually fixes the issue and makes the form fully functional.I appreciate your help tremendously. Unfortunately, the only issue now is that the form just doesn't really seem any faster than before, once there is a lot of data entered. I am attaching the revised form, into which I have imported actual XML data from last month. If you check it out, you can see that when you add a line, it take several seconds, selecting a client name takes even longer, and tabbing to the quantit...

Re: Dynamic Form is painfully slow to open and edit joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Thank you! My console got turned off at some point and I never could figure out how to turn it back on! I figured it would be a simple error like that!I've updated that, and it's working better. But the problem I'm having now is that the repTotals aren't zeroing out if you change the selected client. For example, if you select any team at the top. Then select a client in the rep section, and put a number in one of the columns. That works...but if you go back and change the client to a different ...

Re: Dynamic Form is painfully slow to open and edit joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Bruce, thank you so much for your help. Your form worked great.I've updated the rep subform to include all the other columns going by your example, but for some reason, in MY form, my repTotals subform only calculates for the first client selected in the list. For example, in my form, if you select the first Team at the top (ACES/SGEMA/SHI/VECM), and then in the first rep subform, if you select any client other than the first one, the totals do not populate in the repTotals subform (although the...

Re: Dynamic Form is painfully slow to open and edit joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Dragging up from the dead one of my own old posts...The following Shared File (Shared Files - Acrobat.com) has served me well over the last couple of years, but as the list of clients has grown, so has the data entered, and once again, the form is becoming painfully slow by the time 20 or more pages have been added. What I would like to do is remove all automatic calculations from the "clientTotals" section, and only have that section calculate totals when "button3" ("Update Totals) is clicked. ...

Beautiful! Works perfectly! And, I very much prefer that shorter code you have used! I am not familiar with that, but it makes sense, and I think I'll adopt using this for conditional dropdowns! Thank you so much!!Jo

Having trouble with flowed form joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Maybe this is a referencing problem, but I am pulling my hair out because I just don't see what the error is.The 2 page dynamic form in the link below...https://files.acrobat.com/preview/8c174446-6064-46b6-9e39-7c99bcf08918...works fine, UNTIL the first page flows into a 2nd page. THEN, the script in the dropdown list that WAS on the 2nd page (but which is now the 3rd) no longer makes visible the hidden fields. I know you pros out there will know right away what the problem is, and if you can he...

Date/Time Calculations joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Date/Time Calculating in Livecycle is one skill that I have yet to master! I have developed a time sheet with punch in/out buttons, and I think the calculations are working correctly, but the trouble I am forseeing is that the calculations are based on times only, not on dates AND times. Consequently, if someone punches IN on Jan 1 2014 at 08:00AM and punches OUT at 09:00AM on Jan 2 2014, it calculates 1 hour, instead of correctly calculating 25 hours. This would, in essence, create a way for an...

How to ensure Digital Signatures are not faked? joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
We are currently using some fairly archaic processes, whereby dynamic forms are completed digitally, printed, signed by hand, and then rescanned as static PDFs back onto our shared server. We are considering ways of streamlining this process, and one consideration is to use Digital Signatures. The one worry I have however is in how simple it appears to me to fake a digital signature of someone else. For example, a shared folder on the network contains PDF forms that must be approved by being sig...

Allowing user to create link to a network file joflo723 - Adobe LiveCycle
Is there a way to allow the user of a form to enter the path to a local network file (such as a Word document), so that when others click it, it will take them to the file?In a thread in another forum, someone posted the following method of create a button containing the following code that converts text entered into a text field into a hyperlink:if (xfa.host.name != "XFAPresentationAgent") { var oURI = xfa.resolveNode("form1.page1.header.TextField2").rawValue; var oLink = "" + oURI + ""; xfa.re...

Reviving this because I was wondering...how would you link to a folder on a network drive? The example posted by maestrodog1 is very helpful, but it provides a button that when clicked, links to an internet URL.if (xfa.host.name != "XFAPresentationAgent") { var oURI = xfa.resolveNode("form1.page1.header.TextField2").rawValue; var oLink = "" + oURI + ""; xfa.resolveNode("form1.page1.header.TextField2").value.exData.loadXML(oLink, false, true); }When I enter a local or network path (for example "Y:...
