I don't think it's coming through the dispatcher. There are some head requests in the disp, but at a much lower interval and with a different user agent signature Monitoring the publisher, a few requests comes every 30stail -f /mnt/crx/publish/crx-quickstart/logs/access.log | grep --line-buffered HEAD"HEAD / HTTP/1.1" 200 - "-" "Apache-HttpClient/4.5.4 (Java/1.8.0_251)" Monitor the dispatcher logs shows a different HEAD request; interval about ~130stail -f /mnt/var/log/httpd/access_log | grep --...

Thanks for the comments. On AEM publishers access.log, the IP is the same as the publisher instance internal IP (10...)

It is something new I found in AEM 6.5.7 author and publisher instances. It's not present in our previous AEM 6.4.8.3 environments. The user agent mentioned in the HEAD request mentioned Apache-HttpClient/4.5.4 (Java/1.8.0_251), so I doubt that it is originating from the dispatcher. But at the same time, I do not see the same activity in localhost 6.5 instances.

AEM 6.5 seems to be making regular requests such as the one below; as found in access.log from a publish instance "HEAD / HTTP/1.1" 200 - "-" "Apache-HttpClient/4.5.4 (Java/1.8.0_251)" The polling fails constantly on author instances, and the error rate shows up in Java reporting such as New Relic. According to NR, the error is 401 on author instances. The errors reported in New Relic have identifiers (qtp631235405-15166) that match the log below. *INFO* [qtp631235405-15166] org.apache.sling.aut...

Nope. Never figured out how to do that. One work around is to design templates using a combination of parsys and responsivegrid containers. The parsys policy would allow components that don't support Layout.

The issue discussed is a useful feature where users were able to build links from the RTE Link window by dragging and dropping assets such as PDF docs from the Classic UI Content Finder. Adobe says that this is "not recommended" anymore. Seems it is not recommended because Touch UI lacks the feature.

Specifically, I want to disable component resize for certain components which look bad when squished using Layout. These are components with more complicated html and already have a responsive design strategy. Ideally there could be a property in cq:editConfig such as cq:layout = nolayouting

Hi Adobe Experience ManagerOur sites use AEM 6.4 with Layout Container and the Layout authoring mode. It works well enough in most cases. The doc used to configure Layouting is below...Configuring Layout Container and Layout Mode Is there some kind of component cq:editConfig (or something??) where layout could be configured at the component level? HelloMy client runs a photography and touch-up business. During the shoot, photographers place cards in the shot with the product identifier. It's sort of a pain point to have the touch-up people to read and transcribe the product codes. Its a manual and error prone step that they need to improve. I was thinking to change the DAM Update Workflow to include ORC (Optical Character Recognition) of the text within the image. So far I have tried two things:1. I updated the DAM Update Workflow adding ...

Thanks for posting about this problem. We are also facing this issue with workitems not having the routes object when preceding an OR Split. Actually pasting the script into the OR Split branch text editor did help in our case! but it needed to be added into the non default branch.

Is there a UI for adding, removing or changing CUG authorization policies? Documentation makes zero reference to rep:cugPolicy, https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/6-3/sites/administering/using/closed-user-groups.htmlIt does talk about Java code to manage the policies. Is that really how we're doing it now? Pushing code changes to manage CUG authorization policy. To be clear, I am not asking about the authentication requirement which has a UI in the pages advanced tab. It seems rep:cugPol...

Ok thanks for your input. It does seem odd that one cannot use the Granite Form (see attached docs) in a component dialog to set the data path target to the current page. Form — Granite UI 1.0 documentation

Yes that would definitely work if this were a brand new page. We are coming from Classic UI and have bunch of content which used page properties. I don't want to have to undergo a content migration to adopt the new interface just because Adobe decided to disconnect the page properties from the page.

Correct. It works great as a Component, and even saves from Page Properties. However, when used from the Page Properties it blows up the Java Exception listed above immediately after selecting a file.Since I can't really promote code that generates errors, I'm looking for another option. If I could write to Page Properties from a component dialog, then that's definitely what I would do. That would also help with the pages images (co-called thumbnail tab), since I could then make use of the in pl...

This seems like it might work.Ideally the existing file would be pre-populated, and it would execute cleanly without the Java exceptions. There are also JS errors in the console (500). The Java exceptionis shown below. But at least the POST operation appears to work. 16.02.2018 12:42:41.339 *ERROR* [0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1 [1518802961331] POST /mnt/overlay/wcm/core/content/sites/properties.html HTTP/1.1] org.apache.sling.servlets.post.impl.operations.ModifyOperation Exception during response processing....

OK. "convert" isn't really the right word. The point of writing the ticket here was to get help with the Granite fileUpload. I already had that link to the documentation but is not helping.

In the ClassUI we had very simple page property syntax providing a way for author to upload a file to the page. Like this.. Obviously we need to transition to the Touch UI at some point, so I have been working to implement this in the TouchUI. Most CQ widgets and xtypes are very easy to convert, but for whatever reason I cannot get the fileUpload to work. This is the documentation I am trying to useFileUpload — Granite UI 1.0 documentation Here is what I have It renders a button to upload a fil...

According to a response from Daycare, these log messages can be ignored. However, we believe that certain requests (http://localhost:4502/bin/security/authorizables.json ) generate many such messages. Therefore it is possible slow down or even crash AEM under heavy load of authorizables.json for example. Daycare suggested it is to be fixed in AEM 6.4. in the meantime turning off logging on com.adobe.granite.xss.impl.XSSFilterImpl was the only short term option,

Okay. So editing this filehttp://localhost:4502/crx/de/index.jsp#/libs/clientlibs/granite/coralui3/js/coral.jsby adding this file /apps/clientlibs/granite/coralui3/js/coral.js to my project did the trick. It would be much better if Adobe would engineer these features to be more easily customized. I don't like overlaying a js file that is over 71,000 lines to adjust 3 lines of code. Also the ratios seem to be backwards. It was strange that the ratios need to height over width to come out properly...

Hello. Thanks for the reply. I am familiar with these online documents. Unfortunately, they are not relevant to my question. Here are the steps to take;1. start with /assets.html2. find and select an image. then the path should be /assetdetails.html/content/dam/......3. click the edit icon. then the path should be /mnt/overlay/dam/gui/content/assets/assetedit.html/content/dam/........4. I have the same question as posted on Stack Overflow. cq5 - AEM DAM apect ratio crop - Stack Overflow When editing an Asset from http://localhost:4502/mnt/overlay/dam/gui/content/assets/assetedit.html There are a certain number of crop aspect ratios. I happen to require 4:3 which is not there. How does one add a crop setting in 6.3?

Running 6.1 SP2 CFP7 our authors also face this from time to time. They may or may not have logged out, and then return to a few days later. The system prompts to login thru our SSO after which they can browse but not edit. The alert opens when any edit is attempted regardless of UI, page customization, and OOTB pages (e.g. /siteadmin). It definitely has something to go with the CSRF token and happens especially after restarting the author instance. I may have reproduced the problem recently. Si...
