I figured out the problem. You have to Export the release build for the project and use that version of the swf. I was using the version built by default when you work on the project. Don't quite know what the difference is, but it works now.

I have a flex application that is using the secure coldfusion channel in development, and it works fine. I checked it through firebug and it's definitely calling the https URL for the flexgateway. I am using the -services option in the compiler to use the services-config.xml.When I move the flex application to the production machine, for some reason it reverts to using the non secure channel with the http protocol. I tried a clean project build, but it still happens. Below I'm posting my service...

Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: NONEThanks for the reply. I think LiveCycle has a lot of potential, but a streamlined interface would really help.As to the Java API, some sort of helper classes for the Java classes would probably do. You could leave all the current classes as is and simply add a simplified layer that calls the current classes but would return simplified values.I noticed that there is a set of helper classes on riaforge, do those essentially try to accomplish this? One more ...

LiveCycle has tons of features and is very flexible. As a result the Workbench is very crowded, with tons of tabs, information, fields, etc. I find that with many of the properties I have no idea what they are for or what the repercussions of changing a value might do. There is simply too much information with names that don't mean anything such as "Application web root" or "Target URL" or "Content Root URI" or "XPath expressions". I've worked some in web applications with these concepts but I h...

I have two questions on this. I have created the entire "Your first application" the mortgage application. I am now trying to test it in the workspace. When I try testing it in the workspace nothing happens. In the JBoss server.log is the following error:"com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlDataTruncation: Data truncation: Out of range value adjusted for column 'loanamount' at row 1"Which I assume I could use small values for the loan amount and it might go through. The other question I have, is how does the us...

I think that was it. I updated the JDBC driver and made the changes in the adobe-ds.xml file. Since then it seems to be working better.Thanks.

I installed the turnkey JBoss installation of LiveCycle ES for trial on Windows Server 2003. For a while everything seemed to be ok. When I was attempting to connect to JBoss throuh Powerbuilder, which I couldn't get to work, I looked at the JBoss log files. I noticed the server.log files were around 80Mb each day. The error below was occuring every few seconds. I tried restarting the JBoss process, but it kept eating more and more memory, and after about 10 minutes it was at 1.3 Gb, so I stoppe...

Just an addition to #2 above. We have crystal reports that generate a report with grouping, calculations, sub reports, formatting, crosstabs, etc. from database data. We export some of them to be saved in the document server.Does LSES have the capability to create complex report easily, with select database tables, seting report parameters, creating sub reports, etc.? I didn't see such reporting capability in LiveCycle ES, but maybe I missed it.Thanks,Jim

We are currently evaluating LiveCycle ES for possible purchase. I downloaded the latest trial version and I am trying to see if we can make some basic calls to LiveCycle ES.1. What comes with the download? Does it come with Alfresco? Can we use content services out of the box?2. I found some documentation explaining how to set up AMP for Alfresco. Is this necessary?3. Where is the API documentation for content services API? I found some general documentation for Document management, which seemed...

We are currently evaluating LiveCycle ES and had some general questions on the capabilities of LS:1. Is the only way for desktop applications to interface with LiveCycle ES is through web services?2. Many of our PDF documents are generated by running a Crystal Report, then exporting to PDF. Is there any way for LiveCycle ES to run a Crystal Report and export the PDF, passing in parameters? Does anyone have a solution for this?3. Can LiveCycle ES server serve as a document repository library, sto...

I will attempt to be positive about this. For Native applications support for Micrsoft Office, LiveCycle PDF Generator installer requires the administrator account that installed Microsoft Office. I have many issues with this that I could use some help.1. How do you know for sure who installed Microsoft Office? We have three different administrators that install such software, anyone of them could have done it. They all belong to the Administrators group which is part of the OWNER group for the d...

Coldfusion is built on top of Java. Coldfusion is really JRun server which is built with Java, though I don't know if it has all the capabilities of an application server such as a servlet container or JSP.Jim

Ok, I am totally confused as to what workbench will work with or not. I downloaded and installed the trial version. It seems to want to use either JBoss, WebLogic, or Websphere. ColdFusion is not an option. Is that just the way it is, or is there a way to get it working with Coldfusion? We already have Coldfusion 8 and I would much rather not have to install and support another application server. It doesn't really make sense to me that it might not support Coldfusion, seeing as how it's an Adobe...
