I am glad to hear you got the value of authorizableId to work. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get their code to work right out of the box. I was able to get currentId, and CQ_Analytics.CustomStoreMgr.initialized to work by using this code in the customstore.js file:// Create the session store called "customstore" if (!CQ_Analytics.CustomStoreMgr ) { // Create the session store as a JSONStore CQ_Analytics.CustomStoreMgr = CQ_Analytics.JSONStore.registerNewInstance("customstore"); var curr...

AEM newbie wrote... The value of authorizableId is anonymous ... Did you try loading a profile into the client context? Once you load a profile into the client context, and refresh the page, you should get the value of the profile you loaded instead of anonymous.

You have included the client context correctly. Once you include that line of code, you can use the client context to view data. Are you following along with the tutorial, or did you install the full code at the very end? I tried doing this tutorial, and if you install the completed code, and try doing step 4, it will only return "Object {}", but if you replace the code inside "customstore.js" with the code from step 2, it will display the correct results in step 4. You need to make sure you hav...

Jason Tarry wrote... Is the reason for working with templateSlightly.jsp (extending foundation/components/page) to be able to use Sidekick in Classic UI? In other words does the side kick only appear if the page component is JSP?Hi Jason,The reason you use the super type is so it will inherit the main parts of the base page component, so you do not have to re-create these yourself. You do not have to work with a JSP in order to get the side kick to appear. This can be accomplished by making your...

I would expect that there are questions on sightly since it is important in AEM 6 and since it takes the place of JSP. I would review the documentation on sightly if you are not familiar with it, and go through articles links that are located on the experience delivers page. Here are some links: http://blogs.adobe.com/experiencedelivers/https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/develop/sightly.htmlAlso, on the Adobe Experience Manager Help site, there is a tutorial on creating a sighlty component. ...

They can be used to achieve the same result, however it would really depend on what you are trying to do. For example, the can do the same thing as the , but it has more parameters that you can use if you need them. You can read more about the attributes in the Sling documentation here: http://sling.apache.org/documentation/bundles/sling-scripting-jsp-taglib.html#include.I would recommend reading these two articles if you would like more information on and :http://dev.day.com/content/ddc/blog/...

Have you tried installing SP 2 to see if it resolves your issue? I know that the service pack added a lot of hot fixes. You can read more here: http://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/release-notes-sp2.html.

I am not sure if there is a function to get the directory. However, you can access the logs by just using the "crx-quickstart" when using the file path. For example: InputStream in = new FileInputStream(new File("crx-quickstart/logs/stdout.log"));Here is an example component you could use to display the log file:<%@include file="/libs/foundation/global.jsp"%> <%@page session="false" %> <%@ page import="java.util.*, java.io.*"%> <% InputStream in = new FileInputStream(new File("crx-quickstart/lo...

In order to check how long the the AEM author/publish instance has been up and running, you could use the stdout.txt log file that is located in your crx-quickstart folder under logs. This log file records what time your instance of AEM started and what time it shuts down, and is refreshed every time the instance is started. You can read more about the log files here: http://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/cq/5-6/howto/logsaudits.html.In order to achieve this through Java/jsp, you would need to read in th...

In the video, his error pages show the appropriate message because of the template he used when he created the pages. The template had the title component already on it, so when the page loads it will display the page title. If you use the same page template that you are using for the rest of your site, it will keep the same design are those pages. These pages work the same as another page in your site, so you can add a text component to them, and type any error message that you want displayed.T...

Hello All,I have been trying to install the newest version of the dispatcher on IIS 8. I was following along with how to install the dispatcher on a web server located here:http://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/dispatcher/disp-install.htmlOnce I finished this, I went ahead and configured the Dispatcher Flush on my Author instance, and tested the connection and it says that it was successful. The problem is when I go to activate content, it is not working with the dispatcher. I set up the custom log file...

Hello All,I am trying to get the current user that is logged in by using Jackrabbit, and based on that information have a page redirect to a new page. I was using this tutorial as a starting point http://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/developing-aem-osgi-bundles-jackrabbit.html.I was able to get the bundle to work, so I began to edit the code to get the current user that is logged in. However, it keeps returning that the admin user is logged in, even when I log out and log in with anot...
