This seems to be Ubuntu only and occurs on other Flash sites. From Windows it's fine, which is a bit of a pain as my app will be running on Linux.

I have a WebcamPublisher and a WebcamSubscriber with associated plumbing. However, I can only get the WebcamPublisher to start publishing (after calling .publish) if I previously go to the Adobe Flash web settings page and allow my site access to my camera. Then the two connect and I can see myself in the WebcamSubscriber. If I don't previously use the Adobe Flash settings page to allow my site access to my webcam, I don't get any permissions dialog display to prompt the user within the app whethe...

also...- I can check streamManager.isP2P instead of checking it on every user?- If the user is an OWNER, I can ask for multicast (supports many streams but may increase latency for conversations)? Thanks

Hi Nigel-Let me check I understand clearly:- RTMFP can do peer-to-peer or hub-and-spoke- requireRTMFP=true just says don't use RTMPS- StreamManager.maxP2PStreamPublish controls after how many P2P connections the client switches to using hub-and-spoke. So setting this higher prevents the switch (although other things may cause the switch). However, setting it too high may mean problems (uplink saturation, Flash player internals can't handle it)- userDescriptor.isPeer on ConnectSession.synchroniza...

Hi-I think you have a bug in lccs.py, line 559: items.append(item(name, desc, created)) This line is at the wrong ident - it needs to be two characters to the left. As it is at the moment, you end up with three entries in items for every node (room) - two of which will have None for the created time. Regards- David

Hi-My question is about the requireRTMFP property on AdobeHSAuthenticator. If I set requireRTMFP="true", where is the enforcement done? I'm guessing it's the client which enforces no fallback to hub-and-spoke?If so, is there a property I can add to a room instead to stop hub-and-spoke for media streams belonging to the room? The reason I ask is I will be creating rooms and using external authentication to let users in. I'm not sure that relying on them not to have their own clients which don't set...

Hi Hironmay-Thanks for your reply. That's a real shame as I need to be certain of my costs. I want to be sure all connections are P2P so I don't incur the costs of relaying A/V traffic. I'm happy to tell my users to configure their firewalls so P2P works.Regards-David

Thanks for your reply.I want to stop users from being able to enter a room they have entered before. So having a pool of rooms and recycling them would not work. I may have re-used a room for a new meeting with new participants. At the moment, when a new meeting is required, I am creating a new room with a random name and joining the new participants to that. Old expired rooms are deleted once in a while. Is there a different way of doing this with a pool of rooms? Once I've given out an authentic...

Hi-Currently createRoom and getSession each involve a separate HTTP request using the server integration libraries.Would it be possible to combine these calls into a single HTTP request? On Google App Engine, not only do I pay for each outbound HTTP but it seems the requests can take some time.Thanks-David

Hi-I've done external auth for my room, and it seems to be working fine (from a network trace, the ticket it gets has the correct display name and user name). However, when AFCS then tries to get a FMS ticket, I get the following error:AFCS Beta Build # : 1.02requestInfo http://connectnow.acrobat.com/[removed but it contains the room name, exx=some base 64 string, mode=xml and x=0.56...]Warning: Ignoring 'secure' attribute in policy file from http://connectnow.acrobat.com/crossdomain.xml. ... just to add something about the nature of my application.Only I as the app developer have an Adobe account. My users don't. I need them to be able to connect to my rooms without authenticating. However, there are discrete groups of users, and different groups shouldn't be able to see each other (they will be holding meetings with each other).I had intended to create rooms with random, unguessable, names - to which users will join as guests (my web app will hand out the room names). Is this a g...

Nigel-I have a web app, out on the net (actually it's in Python, and will be on App Engine).Using the AFCS server integration library (I guess I should be calling it ALCS now), I want to create rooms in this web app.In order to create a room, I need an account manager object. The account manager needs to be logged in (the login() method). This requires my Adobe account password. Is there an alternative way of creating a room from my Python web app without passing in my Adobe account credentials?R...

Hi Raff-Fair enough, I'll delete the rooms from a db store myself (easy on app engine). Can you confirm that if I use the REST API (server integration) to delete a room, anyone in it gets chucked out?I'll keep an eye out for the developer/application keys and switch when you get round to it.Thanks for the quick response.David

Hi-First, it's great to have AFCS - makes it real easy to build collaborative apps.I have a couple of suggestions though:1. Having to have your Adobe user name and password stored in your web app to do the server integration stuff is real bad (password antipattern). You guys should implement OAuth (or similar) so if someone steals the secret in my web app, they don't get access to my whole Adobe account. Really there should be a secret I can use to authentication to the AFCS server integration p...
