Did you ever get a solution? I can’t modify our forms as they are externally supplied and mandatory for us to use. They are xfa forms. Would be so much easier on an iPad than making staff carry laptops for this task.

Here is some sampel script that does what I think you want. The StartDtae field woudl hold the current date when the form is opened, The Epoch field woudl be an invisible field that woudl be used to store the value of when the form was 1st opened, and the NumericField1 woudl be the field that woudl hold the number of times the form was opened. Note that this is FormCalc code (much easier to deal with Dates using FormCalc). Paul

Make sure you use JavaScript as script language. Also, you may have to use the resolveNode method to resolve the full path of the DDL.1. Enter the script into the layoutReady:event of the subform and place the text cursor at the position with the x. (x does not belong to the script)this.presence = x.rawValue === "Engine1"? "hidden":"visible";2. Now press and hold down ctrl + shift and move the mouse cursor over the DDL until a down arrow ˅ will appear, then click the left mouse button.Designer wi...

I havent used Acrobat in over a year. Once upon a time I used text fields, but can't find them in latest Acrobat Pro. I used text boxes but they seem to have less attributes. How can I lock down the position of the text box on my .pdf but still make them typeable?

I assume that you are using the same template for import and export.Have a look at the data file created and see if there is data in the file for the fields that are missing data. If it is not there I suspect that the binding for those fields is set to none meaning you do not want the data in teh data file.Paul

Hi,I really like Stephen's solution here: Re: Password protect subforms It is simple, effective and does not involve a lot of scripting or getting caught in trusted function. I would recommend it. Niall

Hi,In the example, the updateNotice is a listbox. You could include a button which would clear the listbox. For example in the click event of this new button:updateNotice.rawValue = null; updateNotice.clearItems(); You would need to have a note, recommending that the list be cleared before amendments. Maybe the updateNotice object and button would only become visible after submission. Just a few thoughts,Niall

If you want to reset only sme fields in the entire form you need to pass the field name to the resetData method. But if you can have some thing common for all those 50 fields which you can use to go in a loop then that would be an option. Means, having the same name so you can loop through the name of the field and use index while passing the field name to resetData method. Or if they are all in one single section, group them together inside a subform and loop through the subform nodes.. etc..Hop...

The feature I mentioned earlier about ctrl + clicking a field is really handy, if you get that down at least you'll always know you have the correct path reference to the field.Glad you got it working

You can put in a link to another form but it would be very tough to do unless the attached form was posted on the internet somewhere. Where is the form you want to link to located?

Link this dropdown to the xml tag with the proper values. So that Option A has the associated cost as the value for this option and so on. In the exit event of the dropdown set the text box value with the selected value from Dropdown.TextBox1.rawValue = DropDown1.rawValue;ThanksSrini

The password field just masks user input with "****"s. If you're trying to password protect the form, you can do that under File >> Form Properties >> PDF Security.

When you add the custom control Page n of m, you can see in the heirarchy 3 fields are added. Two TextFields "CurrentPage", "PageCount" and one Text Object "Pages"..You need to write the below code in the Layout Ready event of the CurrentPage control to hide the "Pages" control.clientDetails.MasterPages.Page1.CurrentPage::ready:layout - (JavaScript, client)this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page(this);if(this.rawValue == 1){Pages.presence= "hidden";}ThanksSrini
