I would restart if you change such a fundamental setting. Although it should not be necessary. Can you check the log to find the reason why this error is thrown?Jörg

Here's some details/solution:LDAP user’ password should not be changed in AEM. If such a change is done, then AEM stores the user’s password within AEM and from then on the user is validated against the password stored in AEM and not from LDAP.If such a change is done on AEM, the solution to reset the user is to Delete user from AEM and have them re-login using LDAP credentials. This allows AEM to register the user as an LDAP user.AEM also follows an order between the login methods. The configur...

I'd be interested to learn more on writing a custom RootMappingServlet. Can you send me a brief example? I did try to write a custom LogoutServlet, define a custom url instead of using "/system/sling/logout", and used Authenticator.logout(request, response). This method works but the problem is that the Response gets invalidated and we cannot use a custom Redirect url. Whatever is defined in the RootMappingServlet is picked to show. This works good if you have one site. But for multi-site this w...

I was working on the same issue and found these solutions:On AEM 6.1, Open the page in Classic Mode (will not work in TouchUI on AEM 6.1),Add a Form component, then within this Form component (also this feature will not work if the dropdowns are not within a form component)..Add the dropdown component, right-click, select EDIT, say the 1st one is Country, enter the values/items as US = USA, CA = CanadaAdd the 2nd dropdown component, say it to be "State".. On this component, right-click, select S...

Yes i agree.. using the OSGI/java alidation route would be simple. But our requirement was to do this on the form/client-side. I was looking into Adaptive Forms and the "GuideDropdownList" component. Will udpdate the post if i can solve this using adaptive forms.

Yes.. so i define the "readService" in OSGI (Apache Sling User Mapper) and a user name who can access the service. In 6.1 "admin" does not have default access, you will have to create a "system user". I have more details on how i did this here:http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31350548/resourceresolverfactory-getserviceresourceresolver-throws-exception-in-aem-6-1/31394583#31394583

Thanks. I will try using the OSGI route. I tried doing another route of creating a new customer property at site level and reading that in my code. But i like the OSGI route better than using the "content".

Thanks it worked. To summarize what i did:1. Define an xml file for each OSGI config under ..package-folders..\src\content\jcr_root\apps\abccommons\configSample:2. Saved it as classname-servicename.xml3. Did a maven build and deploy4. Open CRX/DE and go to your /apps/package-name/config . We can see all the configs with the filesnames as defined in Step 2 above.

HiI've had the same problem recently. I could solve like this:1) in CRX create a node with property 'jcr:primaryType' = 'sling:Folder' (let's call it 'xy-lookup-list')2) add a multi string property containing the key-value-pairs to the newly created node. The property name (let's call it 'xy-lookup-values') will be part of the loading path. A key-value pair looks like this 'keyXY=valueXY'.3) specify the crx path as loading path in the dialog of the widget that shall use the lookup value. The loa...

With Scott's inputs, my solution with code snippets.1. From the UI, submit the action to Sling Servlet 2.
