Yes it is possible, but what you really want to do is use a Text object (not a Text Field) and add a floating field to the text.To do this, add a Text object with text, select the text you want, and right click > Insert floating field..

I'm just wondering if this is a Process Management question? If yes, there are a few things that could be wrong. The first would be to check that the variable that you use to capture the Data is updated in the output section of the Assign Task.If you aren't using Process Management (its not clear), then how are you submitting the form? The form submission should contain any user edits...

Firstly, I'm assuming that you have a Forms ES Server if you are rendering a Guide. This could be either version ES1, ES2/2.5 or ES3/ADEPIf you submit the form back to the server, you can populate a second (PDF/XDP) form with the data bound to the same schema/Data Model using Forms ES. You referred to the next user in the chain - If you are using Process Management, this is very easy, as you define what form is used to render the data in the "Presentation & Data" section of the Assign Task activ...

Thanks Paul, just to confirm you mean a new Application Version, not a new Process Revision.I can see that if I update a process revision, then the existing process instances will start to use the new revision.A new Application version seems to close out the old processesPlease confirm .. thanks

Hi Everybody,Jasmin Charbonneau conducted an excellent online seminar A Technical introduction to Adobe LiveCycle BAM ES2 which covers lots of details on BAM - creating dashboards, thresholds, alerts, BAM Wizard, creating datasources. It really is good. If you don't have 90 minutes free to watch it in one go, I've deconstructed it into a number of blog posts - I try to capture all the points, and provide reference to all the core points.http://www.btes.com.au/a-technical-introduction-to-adobe-li...

Thanks, but I don't think that's quite correct.e.g. there is no ability in PDF Gen I can see to List objects, create layers, convert to CMYK only (with all the relevant options), grayscale or downsample etcI appreciate they are separate products, even though PDF Gen relies on a server copy of Acrobat Pro Extended. It would be good if this feature was available I think

Hi FlohIt's pretty easy - Download the MySQL Client GUI Tools, and connect to the MySQL instance installed by the Turnkey installation. The connection settings are in the *.ds.xml within the Jboss deploy folder. Login as root - you should have the password that you used with the Livecycle installlAs root, you can create a new instance (actually you are creating a new schema).Make sure you update the connection settings in the JBoss deploy folder for the new instance. Thanks

Hi All,I solved this issue for a client today when running configuration Manager during installation. After asking for the language it gives the error: ALC-LCM-000-020 "Failed to launch Configuration Manager".The Configuration Manager log file contains the stack trace below. It was very similar to this issue (reported in Cold Fusion): http://forums.adobe.com/thread/228722I discovered the installation was running from a domain administrator account, which had Windows Explorer Shell paths locked ou...

Hi,We have a Rights Management server running, and all secured documents display and print with a small watermark in the top left hand corner.Occiasionly, a user reports that the Watermark shows with an Extreme size, which makes reading the document nearly impossible.See here for an example:https://acrobat.com/#d=sqHTwbHFSXIXAVX9gDiMmANote: This is a very intermittant problem, but it's not clear what might cause it.Thanks

Thanks Niall and Radzmer,Let me just summarise the last few posts: (Please correct me if I am wrong)The Windows printer defaults for Duplex will not be overridden by the PDF Print Options for Simplex. Only the Acrobat Page settings for printing will be overwritten.Sorry - it sounds like Radzmer was able to reproduce the problem, but Niall couldn't.

Thanks RadzmarCan you please have a look at the attached file:https://acrobat.com/#d=8zQHjj7zcLfrAt5RHa5XFAI have tested this on Windows 7 (64 bit) and Windows XP - both printing to a Printer which the windows preferences are set to be Manual Duplex by default. The file should default to Simplex, but in each case, it tries to print to Manual Duplex.Do you see the same thing?

Hi Niall,Sorry to bring this up after such a long time.I am actually just testing this exact same issue with Simplex/Duplex.My windows printer default is set to Duplex (albeit manual Duplex). I have a form which is set to default to Simplex (using the form properties)When printing the form, it is always going to Duplex (This is occurring on several different printers).I know you said:I have tested it here and if the printer defaults is simplex and the form is set for duplex; then the form settin...

Yes there is another way - you can use the "ExecDialog" method from the Javascript APIThe javascript API is here http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/js_api_reference.pdfThere is also a really useful util for creating dialogs at Windjack.com, which will give you a WYSIWYG tool for creating the dialogs here: http://www.windjack.com/product/acrodialogs/

This is a pretty good start. You need to create an ODBC connection to your excel file:http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/designerHelp/index.htm?content=000553.htmlFailing that - could you save your Excel as CSV and import it?

Yes, I think when the fillColor property is set, then it may make the default fill edge visible (which has a default colour and width)It sounds like you were also experiencing different behaviour with different objects - you could possibly create Custom Objects with particular fill/edge settings so that the fields act consistently

Hi JennyIf you want to get rid of the border, you can just set it's thickness to 0. Another option is that you could set the edge colour to white:if (TakeTAKSAcc.rawValue==1){TAKSAccSubjects.presence="visible";TAKSAccSubjects.fillColor="238,238,238";TAKSAccSubjects.border.edge.thickness = "0.0pt";}else{TAKSAccSubjects.presence="hidden";TAKSAccSubjects.fillColor="255,255,255";TAKSAccSubjects.border.edge.thickness = "0.0pt";}Thanks,Tim

Thanks Niall - but my observation is that the amount of extra space used by the fonts is different if saved by Designer running on XP or Windows 7.On XP - approx 700 MBOn Win7 - 1.4 MBIt's something to be aware of. I will investigate whether we can skip embedding.

OK - my idea "kind of" worked. Here is the full solution:So now the structure is:> Header (with a border at the bottom)> Subform (with only a border at the bottom> > Subform bound to datasource with repeating rows, with border on Left and rightThe overflow leader has a line at the base of the subform (a border did not work - it got "lost")So now the "Table" has a border, and if it overflows, it looks like a new table on the next page. Great!

Hi,I have a form with the following hierarchy> Header> Subform [With border]> > Subform bound to datasource with repeating rowsI also have another subform, which I use as an Overflow Leader, if a Page break occursThis works fine, except if there is a page break, on the new page this displays as:> Subform [With border]> Over flow Header> > Subform bound to datasource with repeating rowsi.e. the overflow header is inside the border, when I want it to be outside the border, so it looks like a heade...
