Build a date - Adobe LiveCycle 10-02-2012
This is an offshoot of the thread on the date bug. Since it is a different topic, I thought it deserved its own thread.I want to build a date, but I don't see any constructor in FormCalc to do that. Is this just my missing it or doesn't it exist.Using Date2Num I can extract the pieces of a date (month, day, year). Because of the date bug I can't do the simple of adding one to a date without tons of scripting behind it. Each of the date delimiters has multiple options (mm,dd,yy or m,dd,yy or mm,d...

Re: Date bug? - Adobe LiveCycle 08-02-2012
Here is a script that mostly works:var monAsNum = Date2Num($.rawValue, "YYYY-MM-DD");// works with 2 digit yearvar monAsNum2 = Date2Num($.rawValue, "MM/DD/YYYY");// works with 4 digit yearvar monAsNum3 = Date2Num($.rawValue, "M/DD/YYYY" );var monAsNum4 = Date2Num($.rawValue, "MM/D/YYYY" );var monAsNum5 = Date2Num($.rawValue, "M/D/YYYY" );//xfa.host.messageBox(Concat("Testing **Raw Source: ", $.rawValue, " Fomatted Source: ", $.formattedValue, " Raw as number: ", monAsNum));//xfa.host.messageBox(...

Re: Date bug? - Adobe LiveCycle 07-02-2012
Srini, I have two issues. One is why LiveCycle treats 1/1/12 as one date with one behavior and 1/1/2012 as a completely different date with different behaviors. The second is when I use this as the edit and validation pattern, date{M/D/YY}, you are allowed to enter 1/2/2012 which breaks the form as the math for 1/2/2012 is completely different than the math for 1/2/12. I was hoping to extract the various pieces of the date to get around this bug, but I’m not sophisticated enough to do it. I woul...

Re: Date bug? - Adobe LiveCycle 03-02-2012
I tried reworking it, but it still doesn't work. This code:var startAsNumber = Date2Num($.rawValue, "MM/DD/YY");xfa.host.messageBox($.rawValue,"Raw value");xfa.host.messageBox($.formattedValue,"Form value");var startAsNumber2 = Date2Num($.formattedValue);xfa.host.messageBox(startAsNumber2, "num formatted");form1.TimeEntry.EmployeeTime.OperatingDate.MondayDate.rawValue = Num2Date(startAsNumber2+0,"YYYY-MM-DD");form1.TimeEntry.EmployeeTime.OperatingDate.TuesdayDate.rawValue = Num2Date(startAsNumbe...

Date bug? - Adobe LiveCycle 31-01-2012
I have a PDF that seems to have a date problem. I have a date picker or the user can enter the date manually. I take the date and use it to populate column headers for a week. If you enter 1/1/12 then Monday becomes 1/1, Tuesday 1/2, etc. This works if you use the calendar. This works if you use mm/dd/yy. It doesn't work if you enter mm/dd/yyyy. I can't imagine why a full year won't work when a 'yy' format will work.Here is the code from my PDF:form1.TimeEntry.EmployeeTime.OperatingDate.MondayDa...

Re: javascript in form - copying a value - Adobe LiveCycle 07-09-2011
I don't think they will allow it, but I will ask. I know I can't give the data even if I could think of an easy way to transport a database system.

Re: javascript in form - copying a value - Adobe LiveCycle 06-09-2011
There may be many scripts within the 27 pages of this PDF. On that specific field (page 3, subform2, coreHours10), there is only one event, a calculate one.Here is that event-script:Comment #1: I force a value because the data is too hard to manipulate.Comment #2: this alert box displays expected "60"The original working version only included the stuff between "//CU6" and "// override" below it. I don't understand some of that, specifically the "else" on the radiobuttons, but I didn't write it a...

javascript in form - copying a value - Adobe LiveCycle 06-09-2011
I have a form with one field that I want to have a different field's value. This is done in a claculate event (the only event with any scripts on this field).I have an "alert" popup that shows the proper value is being assigned to the field, but when the form displays, numeric "1" comes up instead of the expected numeric "60".1) is there any way to check that this field isn't being changed somewhere else? There are 27 pages in this form and a lot of fields on each so I don't want to have to go f...

Re: How do I get "&" in xml data in LiveCycle - Adobe LiveCycle 12-04-2011
Yes. We ended up encapsulating the data field inside of a [CDATA[ block to isolate the special character and potentially other special characters.tempData = "\" + (model.dpCASENOTES[i] as CaseNotesVO).notes.toString() + "]]\>";xmlHold += "<Notes>" + tempData + "</Notes>";
