Re: Workbench ES2 crashes on x64 Vista and Windows 7 Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Ive had the same issue with MS Office 2010.For this to work, i uninstalled the whole office suite. Installed workbench and made sure the process view shows up and then re-installed MS office 2010 with just Outlook,Excel,Powerpoint enabled and now it works fine. This is the error you get when you have the clash.Faulting application name: javaw.exe, version: 6.0.70.6, time stamp: 0x484e4780Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16559, time stamp: 0x4ba9b29cException code: 0xc0000374Faul...

Re: FTP Put Component - How to create remote directory Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Ok. If the custom component works then its got something to do with the ftp component setup you are doing. Can you paste me the screenshot of the ftp component properties ?Also the error message would help isoloating the issue.

Re: Version PDF with date/time Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Try with the following options. It worked for me.you might want to make sure that the file you write is valid for.e.gconcat("c:\eForms\CD\CDPaymentMaint.pdf",add-days-to-date(/process_data/@strDate1, days)) make sure that the variables have values.strDate1 should be a valid value, and days should be a valid number.i tried and found the result.

Configure your component/Service to be a single process for all invocations.i.e goto admin UI and configure it.

Re: Version PDF with date/time Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Can you show how exactly are you appending the date time to the pdf using XPATH ?if it is a windows environment, the date time pattern includes ':' and might not let the OS write the file.

Prabhat,Can you verify how you created the jar files ?I have encountered issues when i used winzip or for that matter jar in a different way.If you are using Eclipse and creating jar then you will run into issue (where the jar files are compressed).try using command line jar command or ant command with the following option i.e disable compression. or ..jar -cvf 0 .

Couple of things you might want to check is 1) Does your username has the required permissions to create a new directory.2) Are you using the correct username/password combination.Make sure you paste the error you are getting.

Re: handling exception in custom components Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
I have faced this situation for a while and found solution.1.Create your custom Exception say (custom exception)2. Set the properties like errorcode, errormessage, and throwable (if u want to bubble up the exceptions).3. Create a custom object to hold the results (i.e like a java bean)4. In your custom component methods just return the custom object and set exception as a property.for e.g.public class CustomReturn { private String result; private CustomException exception;//getters & setters}publ...

Assemble PDF with attachments Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi All,I am planning to assemble a PDF document with attachments. Or as I see my requirement is to create a PDF and attach various files to it. The PDF would then be sent as an attachment to an email. The user should be able to open the emailed PDF and save the image/application attachments seperately. To achieve this I had generated the sample DDX and tried it in a process, but no luck. All the source objects are avaialble int he assembler map object of documents with the correct key value. Re: Generated PDF using assembler is junk Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
This was a simple issue of parameter type mismatch. I had a generic entry process (for re-use) which caters to different operations based on input type. One of the inputs happened to be inputDocumentMap. One subprocess expected the map to be of string subtype. Since i was re-using the same parameter for calling my assembler subprocess it was sending the map of documents as string and not as 'documents'. This resulted in the bytearray or stringified PDF content or you can call it us junk :-).This...

Ok I was able to resolve it after spending 2 days on it.I had to delete the set operation and recreate the set operation to make it work. Not sure why ? but is this set operation results cached somewhere ?

XML data from XDP/XFA Form Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi I have a xfa form referencing an XDP using fragments. The XDP has the schema embedded in it. The submit button submits the data using SUbmit as XDP data from the designer. In the workspace I render the same form using the custom/samples render PDF form method invocation. The form shows up fine with no errors. However when i submit the form, in my workflow, I have a set operation trying to get the count of a repeating node. For some reason the count is always '0'.We tried to debug and then found t...

Dynamic Webservice URL Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi,We have around 20 webservices deployed in a dev environment (dev1). We wanted to migrate that to a test environment and then to production. We figured that we would have to change all our form code base to point to the webservices deployed at test1 and then to prod1 if we have to migrate from dev1 server. Is there an easy way to do this ? we would like to read the webservices based on the machine we want at runtime and execute it ?any suggestions ?I know in other programming languages you read ...

Re: Blobs in xml Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi Paul,Thanks for the update, I did try the option and it always returned an empty xml indicating that it was unable to convert it to a base64 format.I am just trying to understand how to use the base64 encoding on the returned blob object from an underlying sql query. Is there anyway we can do it just on the blob object alone and not on every field ?

Re: Blobs in xml Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
I was able to solve this using a custom component and would be glad to know any alternative approaches.-Read the image as a blob-encode it into base64 using apache commons base64 (org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64) into a byte array (there is just 1 trick here , i think its specific to oracle db)-create a new string out of byte array and return the same. For decoding its the reverse process-Read the encoded string-decode it using Base64.decodeBase64(bytearray)-create a new blob or a file-ins...

Blobs in xml Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi, Has anyone handled BLOB/image types in process workflow. I have a scenario where I extract the data(blob) from database and return the same as an xml output to the caller. Do i have to handle the blob return type specially while trying to embed in the xml? I know we have to convert the blob to a binary stream. Has anyone done it before ? for .e.g my xml doesn't reflect the real value when retrieved from the database. Dummy Sketch oracle.sql.BLOB@ac7a58

Hi Howard,Thanks for the suggestions. I was planning to write a custom component which would perform the tricky multiple update inserts as the first option wouldnt really fit into the SOA paradigm.Looks like you already have one.

Re: JDBC error in workbench Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi Howard,Your example post is quite helpful. Infact I solved my issue by writing a simple query and just parametrizing instead of building the query string itself. However I would still love to see the log or trace enabled for the values and the queries being generated by the livecycle before it is pushed to the sql engine.

Re: JDBC error in workbench Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
HI Jasmin,Thanks for your reply, however playing with the quotes doesnt solve my problem, i.e. in my case folder Id is a int variable whereas packnum is a string , so either way it is failing as I had tried it earlier..i guess this whole query is somewhere parsed using xpath internally before given to the jdbc service and hence the xpath expressions mix with the normal SQL expressions and create this error.

JDBC error in workbench Sentah - Adobe LiveCycle
All,I have a requirement wherein i have to query based on two conditions. For some reason the queries don't get executed as the parameters are in xpath language. I have tried in Oracle and in SQLServer and I get the same error.I noticed that the queries work as long as there are no or 1 condition but not when there are more than two.I am pretty sure am missing something here to formulate the query, maybe escape sequence or quotations. my query is like this :select column_1 from table1 where fold...
