Actually - this is the one and only form I created just in that way. All my other forms are fine and I just forget about that one's genesis. Thanks so much for the reminder!

I was able to correct the issue. One of my tool tips (assume invalid character) was causing the form not to preview. Thanks for your response.

Re: How to get LiveCycle Designer 4? bethc80851580 - Adobe LiveCycle
I tried that download - it doesn't work for me as I cannot access my license for my old version of Acrobat - which I have had for at least 5 years. The program is located on my former laptop which has now been changed out for a Surface Pro - so upgrading that version doesn't work. According to the Adobe website, we are eligible to add the program, but without a key, the download link is useless.

Re: Page not aligned with margins, how can I move it? natalies3171885 - Adobe LiveCycle
In case others have this issue, what I ended up doing was creating a new blank form, then copying my whole page/subform (JHA), and pasting it into the new form. Everything aligned properly, but I had to rebuild all my actions.

Re: Subform Initial Occurence resets when occurence is zero _Bruce_Robertson - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi,I've never noticed this behaviour before but then have always had a yes/no choice wrapping around the repeat. I guess you could have a hidden field with the count and use that to set the instances when initialising the form?Bruce

Re: Does Adobe still release service Pack for LiveCycle Designer? jnicholas330 - Adobe LiveCycle
I believe this is because LiveCycle Designer follows the versioning of the LiveCycle suite, while AEM Designer follows the versioning of Adobe AEM (CQ).

Re: problems emailing PDF form FrankB2 - Adobe LiveCycle
Hi Hunter...I'm new to JavaScript and LiveCycle Designer ES4 myself but I've managed to figure out how to send an email of my form via a button. Although, now I'm trying to figure out how to change the attached form name it defaults to, the email still works with a field inserted into the subject and body. The button I created is simply a submit button but with the "Control Type" as regular. I've also added JavaScript to the button. This works with MS Outlook 2010. Hope this helps... var SbjtStr ...

Strange Behavior when using Edit Validation Pattern jnicholas330 - Adobe LiveCycle
I've noticed a strange interplay between edit patterns and binding data format (Numeric Field). If I set the Data Format to Integer (under Object -> Binding) I cannot enter a decimal at all (good), but if I add a numeric field edit pattern (e.g. num{zzzzzzzzzzzz9}), it will let me type anything I want, but then throws this error, which is not terribly user friendly:So two questions:1) Has anyone got numeric validation patterns to work? They don't seem to do anything.2) What is the best way to en...

Hey Radz and all:Did you ever get a response/find a solution regarding the custom _pagezerocontent disappearing from an XFA-based PDF once it was reader extended?Been messing around all day with it and not having any luck.Tried updating LC to Service Pack one - which does allow for the _pagezerocontent - but once reader extended, we're back to the "Please Wait..."Ugh. Thought I was rid of that damn confusing default language.B

Re: JSLint jnicholas330 - Adobe LiveCycle
Well I think I've isolated the issue, but I'm not sure of the solution. It appears that use of C style comments, i.e. /* Comment */ causes all lines following it to be ignored during JSLint. Since all my script variables started with these comments, they were not checked.

Surviving garbage collection jnicholas330 - Adobe LiveCycle
I have a number of forms that use functionality encapsulated in script variables. These script variables have state in them, that must survive between calls. However, SpiderMonkey's GC disagrees, causing issues when objects that are supposed to be initialized disappears. I know there are some workarounds for this, but I worry that none of them are documented by Adobe. Many of these forms are used by third parties and must continue to work from year to year and version to version of Reader. Does ...

I have solved my issue. It took some battling in javascript using xfa.resolveNode.I have 5 pages, each consisting of a series of 60 fields named Viol1Num, Viol2Num, Viol3Num .... bindItems and SOM jnicholas330 - Adobe LiveCycle
I am trying to bind a drop down list (choiceList) to a list of records in my data set. My original XML looked like this: But it returned no values. I played around and with alternative ways of getting my data, and settled on this: But what is weird is that within a scripting context:xfa.record.parent.resolveNodes("Ballot[*].BallotIdentifier.BallotName")Works just fine. Do SOM expressions not support the parent property in a bind context?
