Hey Steven, there are GDPR features available with the Evidon and TrustArc extensions currently and we will be adding additional extensions with similar functionality over time. As the extension catalog expands, expect to see more options for opt-out in many varieties.

There will be options to deploy Launch asynchronously. Of course, should you choose that approach you also accept the limits in using the system imposed by the fact you're deploying Launch itself asynchronously. For example, testing and optimization tools that require synchronous deployment in the section of the document to facilitate content swapping would no longer be capable of producing the expected behavior.

Will the xyz extension include certain features that I want?The features available in any extension depend entirely on the extension developer – if they build a feature into the extension, then that feature becomes available in Launch through the extension. Adobe doesn’t “require” any specific functionality in third party extensions beyond conforming to the development guides and standards.

Ok, I thought you were creating the object in the Data Element.If you have an array like var items = ['foo', 'bar', {key: 'value'}] either in a data element or in the DOM (in the page), or in a custom script section in DTM, you could reference elements of the array in a few ways: items[2].key // returns 'value' from the above array _satellite.data.customVars.object_test[2].key // returns 'value' from a data element called object_test that contains the array _satellite.data.customVars.object_test...

Are you returning the object as the last line of the script for the data element?var myObject = { key = "value", foo = "bar" }; return myObject;With custom script data elements or conditions, the return statement is required.

Hey Chad, does your entire data layer populate after the load event on every page of your site?You can avoid double beacons with a return false;in the Adobe Analytics section of a Page Load Rule, in the Custom Code editor. This prevents Adobe Analytics from firing the page load beacon on that page. Then, in your JavaScript/3rd Party Tags section, you can add a call to _satellite.track(direct-call-rule-name);and in the body of the Direct Call Rule, make your variable assignments.Obviously, this a...

Chad, for Ajax sequences, you can include a call to _satellite.track('ruleID'); to trigger data collection at the precise point in your Ajax code when you know the request object will be complete. In other words, you'll pick up the data from the data layer when it's available, and set your Analytics variables in the Direct Call Rule.

When using Custom Script in a Rule Condition, you need to return (boolean) true when you want the Rule to fire. Try this:var myH1 = document.getElementsByClassName("hero-title")[0].innerHTML.toString(); if (myH1 == "The information you are trying to access has moved." ) { return true; }

Yes. Using AEM and DTM together is pretty straightforward. Just add the embed codes in your templates to get started. You can also use cq_analytics properties in DTM Data Elements for added data layer flexibility.

Hey David,When Dan sent this to you, it probably wasn't entirely clear what your requirements were. Many clients simply copy and paste the DoubleClick code they get from their agencies into the JavaScript/Third Party Tags section of a Page Load or Event Based rule, and they're done. It sounded like one of your requirements was to avoid inline HTML, and instead have the DoubleClick code added in a separate JS file?Might be better if you email me directly, so we can better understand what you're t...

Switching from S3 hosting to FTP won't impact your tracking.It also won't have any effect on historical data in SiteCatalyst - any data already collected and available in SiteCatalyst will still be there.

Hi Venkatesh,The workflow built-in to DTM is designed to leverage the separate Staging and Production library files. Your production site(s) should link to the production version of the Embed code, and your lower environments - dev, test, UAT, staging, etc. - should all link to the staging version of the Embed code - regardless of which hosting option you choose (external, FTP, or Library Download).1. Most DTM clients use one of the internal hosting options: either FTP or Library Download. There...

Hi Sameer,1. Either or both, whichever is easier for you. Data Elements can be used to hold values of DOM elements that already exist on your pages, or for values that you instantiate, manage, and manipulate entirely in DTM. If you already have metadata in meta tags, in custom data attributes, or elsewhere in your markup or the DOM, feel free to use Data Elements in DTM (with those values) as part of your overall data layer.2. In terms of 'where': specific values for different elements of your d...

Correct. If you want to avoid re-running your custom script on each access of the Data Element, on first run, you can assign the value(s) to a variable or object property and simply reference the variable or object property in subsequent uses.

Not sure I follow, but custom script contained in Data Elements should only be run when the DE is called. In other words, when you obtain the value of the Data Element that's returned by the custom code in the_satellite.getVar("dataElement"); or in the UI fields.

For your code that parses the URLs, are you looking for query string parameters, or other parts of the URL? If you use Data Elements for those URL values, you can set your Analytics variables in the user interface in the global Analytics settings, Pageviews & Content section.When you say you "entered the code into the Customize Page Code interface in the Analytics section of DTM", did you do that in a Page Load Rule, or on the Global Settings screen?For troubleshooting tips and training, check o...

Paul,Do you have an Adobe consultant you're working with to implement tracking in your app? Without knowing the context details of your app, I would think you could add an ID, or an ng-xxx, or other attribute to the "element clicks that do not result in a page load" and have one Event Based Rule that's triggered for all those clicks, with code that collects whatever attributes of the element you are interested in tracking?

If that datalayer object exists in your page, you can just point the DTM Data Element at it. When you set up your Data Element, you can use JS Object as the Type, and in the Path, you just type datalayer.productsYou don't have to use a Data Element here, but you can. When you set your products variable, you can just reference datalayer.products[0].sku or whatever.
