You might want to give databinding a shot.instead of this : groupPieChart.dataProvider =returnedReportTypes.result;You do something like this:myResult = returnedReportTypes.result;(MyResult is declared globally and Bindable)then in your pieChart you do something like this : Wild guess.....Ries

you need to create these by hand by 'looping' over your XMLsomething like var but:Button = new Button();but.foo = bar;but.bar = xxx;but.x = somevalue;but.y = somevalue;......somecanvas.addChild(but).That's how we do it...Ries

You need to realize that Flex does most of the asynchronous,that means that the functionremoteGetTables.getDBTables(connectionType, schemaName); willreturns immediately.So if you want to place an Alert somewhere, do it in yourresponse function where you currently show your Result 1.It's currently hard to understand what you really want to dowith your dataset. But further processing of real data needs to bedone in the function resultGetTables or other functions executedwhen the result comes back....

My advice is not to pass strings where you actually want topass a integer/float.So best is to pass this :{"n":"Zimbabwe","o":"63","m":"38","g":"1900"}Then use a item renderer to render the values as percentagevalues.RiesHere is my ProcentualRenfderer.mxml import mx.controls.listClasses.ListData; import mx.controls.dataGridClasses.DataGridListData; import mx.controls.listClasses.BaseListData; import mx.controls.dataGridClasses.DataGridItemRenderer import mx.events.FlexEvent; private var _listData:DataGridListData; // Implement the drawFocus() method for the VBox. override public function drawFocus(draw:Boolean):void { followUpCB.setFocus(); } [Bindable] private var _numDigits:Number = 2; [Bindable] override public function set data(value:Object):void{ super.data = value; followUpCB.text=Math.round(data[_listData.dataField] *(Math.pow(10,_numDigits)) ) / (Math.pow(10,_numDigits)) + '%'; } override public function get data():Object { return super.data; } public function get listData():BaseListData { return _listData; } public function set listData(value:BaseListData):void { _listData = DataGridListData(value); } public function set numDigits(value:Number):void { _numDigits = value; } public function get numDigits():Number { return _numDigits; }

If mdb is access then I don't think you can do that.AIR does support a SQLLite database natifly, may be you wantto look into that??The stuff you read on HTTPservice, Blaze-DS etc might beclient/server apps running in a web-browser.Ries

check if the parameters are correctly for getAssetDevicesif you send a string into getAssetDevices, and your functiondeclaration of getAssetDevices is set as a integer then it mightfail.public void getAssetDevices(int value) {....}and from AS you call it like this:remoteObject. getAssetDevices("10"); it might fail.it's hard to diagnose this with little information....Ries

Hoi Pieter,you can use this zip (http://www.vantwisk.nl/riesvantwisk/resource/blaze-ds.zip)file to kick of your project. It uses Blaze-DS, not LCDS but itsounds like you can get away with Blaze-DS.I use ant as my build tool and can compile and deploy inGlassFish JBoss and TOmcat. I prevere to use GlassFIsh.Teh zip contains a example with messaging and remoting inaction.Together with your current framework you can conenct the dotsand update your DB. Properly you need to create your own custom adapter (assumingyou use messaging) to store the last XX number of messagesThen when a user logs you setup a remote object to retrievethe last number of messages from the server, and continue asnormal.I am not sure if you can push a single message from a adapterto a single client only, that's why I was thinking doing that lastXX number of items with a remote object.Ries

it looks like that the backend cannot find your class. Didyou put the generated jar file in your lib directory?? Also, check your remoting-config.xml file if you did setupyour destination properly, specially your source. And check if yourservices-config.xml file has a include for remoting-config.xml.I made a blaze-ds (blaze-ds with remoting and messeging withant as the build tool) example which can be downloaded here: http://www.vantwisk.nl/riesvantwisk/entry/adobe_flex_and_blaze_dsRies
