Re: Mailto vs. servlets - Adobe LiveCycle 31-08-2009
I have LiveCycle Designer ES. I think I'm looking for a simple file upload servlet ... although, I'm not well versed at my other options for getting the data from the form.

Mailto vs. servlets - Adobe LiveCycle 28-08-2009
I've distributed a handful of forms, mostly for interoffice use where mailto works just fine as a collection device. However, I'm starting to develop more extensive forms for our customer base and, from what I've read, mailto is an awful option. What are my best options for collecting the forms. When the end user clicks SUBMIT, I want there information to just be dumped into a database. If the best answer is Servlets, does someone know of a good resource for helping me develop one?

Required Fields - Adobe LiveCycle 13-07-2009
I'd like three functions to occur on the click event of a button. First, verify all required fields are complete. If yes, submit the form by email and then open a URL.Can someone help with the script on this?

Re: Redirect with required fields - Adobe LiveCycle 13-07-2009
I am using the preset Submit By Email button and I've attached this script to the postSubmit event:app.launchURL(http://www.arboroaks.com/heatcontroller/looplogixinstall.exe);They the user fails to complete the required fields, they get a message stating such, the email will not be sent, but the URL is launched. Is there a better script?

Redirect with required fields - Adobe LiveCycle 10-07-2009
I've attached a javascript redirect (which launches a download) at the click event of my "submit by email" button on a form. However, I also have required fields for this form. Should a user not complete those required fields, but still click "submit by email", the redirect will occur (launching the download), but it'll prompt them to complete the required fields before it'll submit the form by email. Is there a way to fix this or do I just need to scrap the whole required fields function?

Download Button - Adobe LiveCycle 10-07-2009
My company developed a program available by download. However, before someone downloads the program, we want to collect some basic information from them. In LiveCycle I created a form asking the basic questions (name, company, address, etc.). I want to place two buttons on that form, one to submit there information and a second to start the download. The download is at www.arboroaks.com/heatcontroller/LoopLogixInstall.exe, so I really just want to redirect them to that url.Is this something simp...

Re: Uploading a PDF form to the internet - Adobe LiveCycle 09-07-2009
I might be making this harder than it needs to be. I can direct users to my form. However, is there a way to give the Submit button two tasks (first, submit the results on the form and two, redirect the user to the download)?

Initial View - Adobe LiveCycle 23-06-2009
I've created a form in LiveCyle 8.2, but when I open it in Acrobat 9.0, I'm not given the option to set the initial view. How can I set the initial view in LiveCycle? Keep in mind I'm a novice with scripts ... OK with some formcalc.Thanks.
