Re: Trigger for On Hold status between Task and Issue. - Workfront 10-04-2020
I was setting up a process that would rely on tasks going on hold and temporarily disappearing from work logs. Was really disappointed to find tasks don't actually have an On Hold status.

Re: Does anyone have a workaround for utilizing a reviewer license for an ad hoc worker? - Workfront 10-04-2020
This workaround relies on setting up a project specifically for items that will be assigned to these users. To enable users with request and review licenses to assign and update the status of issues (i.e. work on them) it is important to configure sharing settings that will grant this access to them as new issues are created. In Project Actions > Sharing the [Team/Group/Users] is added and granted contribute access along with access to add issues, add tasks, make assignments, and share. In Edit ...

Kickstart template needed (Issues+Tasks) - Workfront 12-03-2020
I'm working to import a large volume of issues and connect them to resolving tasks in about three projects. Does someone have a template for that? I was trying to import just a single test issue, but I got an error about queueTopicGroupID which isn't a column in the Kickstart download. Thanks, Brian McKinley

Resource Planner Filters - Workfront 21-11-2019
Is there anyway to create resource planner with date filters on tasks, issues, etc that are dynamic so it can be saved and not need recreated once the specific dates have passed. In other words why can't we say "this week" or use the date wildcards? And is there some reference for how multiple filters are applied? Is it all AND or OR? Brian McKinley

Re: 2019.4 release: Is anyone else disappointed with the new typeahead field options in custom forms? - Workfront 21-11-2019
I was excited to try it out with projects. But then I discovered that the result is just text. I was expecting it to create a link to the object. So as is it's not really any more useful than a text field. Brian McKinley

Add schedule exceptions to a calendar - Workfront 21-11-2019
It would be great if schedule exceptions could be added to calendars in the same way as time off. This would eliminate one more manual process on our shared calendars.

Resource Planner filters - Workfront 28-08-2019
This may be a really simple question, but how do I create a resource planner filter that shows only the items that have planned hours in the time frame displayed such as the next four weeks? If I create a filter for planned hours > 0, then I think it's looking at every project which covers four months? I can simulate this by exporting the data and filtering in Excel, but it'd be nice to have as a Workfront filter. Brian McKinley IU Foundation

Re: Weekly tasks in a template - Workfront 19-02-2019
Thanks, that looks like the solution I'm going to go with. Explaining to delete the 5th Friday if it isn't needed is a lot simpler than explaining the editing of a recurring task. Brian McKinley IU Foundation Showalter House

Re: Weekly tasks in a template - Workfront 18-02-2019
That's how the model project was set up. I looked at the template. It looks like the recurring tasks covert to just a regular parent/child when that is saved as a template. They got constraint dates of 0, 5, 10, 15, 20. So when I made one for the following month 0 converted to April 1, a Monday the project start date. Weirdly the task turns back into a recurring task when the project is created, but the recurrence frequency hasn't changed, so the project creator would have to edit that and set t...

Weekly tasks in a template - Workfront 18-02-2019
I'm setting up a template to cover a group of tasks that are performed every month. Tasks A, B, C, ... Task B is "Do X every Friday." What is the best solution for configuring this in a template? Recurring task didn't work. It set up a recurring task but in the next month the due dates were on Mondays instead of Fridays. My main problem seems to be that there isn't a set number of Fridays in any given month. What's the least labor intensive solution?
