I believe that would be value-added for a email marketing software to be "smart" enough to recognise opens, just like how mobile app tracking for click-throughs is defined as well. 😉

@jaredho no resolution. I submitted a support ticket back in June 30, and it's still outstanding. Support wasn't able to get me an answer, and it seems no-one internally from Adobe knows how it is meant to work.

Yes the mbox name can be whatever you choose. The key part is really just the profile parameter name and values because you'll be using those in the Audience definition. You don't really need to reference the mbox name so I tend to use something generic like 'dataCapture' in these cases.
