Hi, What was the resolution? I have the exact question and would really appreciate any help you can provide. The business wants to answer the question: Which Marketing Channel(s) are traffic coming from (regardless of any type of conversion). Which is the correct metric to use??

Hey @Annelio - This dimension is visit-based, meaning that the value applies to every hit within the visit and doesn’t change. You should rather utilize the hit based metric - ‘Time spent on page’ dimension records the amount of time a visitor spent on the page. In addition to what everyone else has answered, it is very important for you to remember that Marketing Channels per hit. NOT per visit. That is a very common misunderstanding about Marketing Channels.Also, remember that AA's definition of visit is primarily time-based, i.e. where there are continuous hits without a break of more than 30 minutes.So the following is an entirely valid visit in AA, yet notice that the Marketing Channels will change mid-visit:12:00pm: Arrive at website from campaign...

Thank you for your response! I discovered that there was one letter missing in the rule for the query string so I have corrected this and will continue to follow the development to see if this was the only thing causing the problem or if there may be other factors. As you say, using more variables makes the rules more complex and increases the risk for errors.
