OK, here we go: https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/track?uri=urn:aaid:scds:US:0b9769f5-5a7c-489f-99fa-9de489d4a89bThe structure of the data is vital for success here. See if you can adapt your data accordingly. Check also the Binding tab under Object.I hope that helps - it is only a quick sample - you may have to adapt to your data and real form....

What do you mean with displayed together? In your description it sounded as if you have a simple table with the members, one row for each member and that is followed on the document by a number of individual skill tables. Reorganizing your data will make the skill tables be filled, otherwise you get what you have now. They are still in the same document? Maybe you can explain a bit more what that should look like.

There is a reason for that 🙂You have created a hierarchical data structure and want to consume the data in more than one dynamic subform/table construct. That does not work because the data is gone through once (your member table) and then there is no "Reset" so your skills table are out of data. For that to work you could restructure your XML data like so: 1 Name 1 2 Name 2 1 if required in the skill table Skill 1 Skill 2 Skill 3 2 if required in the skill table Skill 1 Skill 2 ...

Theoretically it works the same BUT when you have 0 Row1 instances it makes a difference because the instanceManager has no object link when there are 0 Row1s and causes an error:GeneralError: Operation failed.XFAObject.Row1:3:XFA:form1[0]:#subform[0]:initializeInvalid property get operation; instanceManager doesn't have property 'Row1'_Row1 on the other hand points "directly" to the Row1 definition and therefore there is no exception. Why that is I cannot explain - just that it is like that 🙂

got it and I see now that you made those 2 fields read-only - we need to think about how to solve this little conundrum. 🙂I was confused about the locked thing. I will see if we can solve this.

when I do this with my form the fields are open and I can overwrite the date that was put in. Can you pass me your pdf so that I can have a look? Something is different between our two forms.

Have you added logic that blocks those fields right from the start? Or what kind of PDF are you saving in Designer?

no not edit the form. You open the non-RE PDF and get your fields pre-filled with the current date. Go into those fields with the mouse and empty them by deleting the currently pre-filled date/time. Having the script in the initialize prevents the form from overwriting it again as soon as you leave the field. When all your fields are empty then save as RE PDF and that always starts with empty fields to be pre-filled by your scripts instead of locked fields.

I am not sure that this will solve your problem. XFA based PDFs require a XFA render engine in the client when they are interactive and dynamic and on the server if they are rendered as server-based PDF. XFA Scripting only works in these contexts. The alternative is that you flatten/convert the XFA PDF to a "print"-PDF finalizing the content. Then the field content is not a field data any more but digits as part of the overall content. This should not change no matter where you open it.But I gue...

This age old message never contained the information needed to help this guy. There are many reasons why it did not work on the server, starting with where the script is allowed to run (Client, Server, Client+Server) or which events, as not all of them can execute on the server. Click, Enter, Exit, Change etc only work with interactive forms inside Adobe Reader/Acrobat. Also, how did he save the form/render the form. If you create a static print PDF then event execution is different to what it i...

Looking at your screenshots I think that the fact that you have this in the initialize event of the button may be the reason for it to fail. Initialize only triggers at the beginning or after re-layout and some other things but not when you click on a button. Add this to the click event where you have the logic for move. If you also need to run it on forms initialization then create a script object, add a function like buttonVisibility() and call that in the initialize as well as the click event...

Hello, I hope you don't mind me saying that this must be one of the most complicated XFA forms I have ever seen - and I have seen a lot of them in my time. I opened your PDF with the Designer but a lot of your app. 50! script objects seem to come from external fragments and were not available for me to see. Judging by what I was able to see I think that you have scripted basically EVERY aspect of forms activities in a hierarchy of functions. That includes the visibility of whole pages.Based on m...

ok, here is how this will work:1) check if the prefill logic for your fields are in the ready:layout or initialize event. If they are in the layout:ready they must be moved to initialize or the fields cannot be made empty (they immediately fill themselves again after clearing them).2) Open the original PDF in Acrobat and make sure you emptied the content of all fields which should be filled later (Date...)3) Save with RE after you have cleared the fields That worked here.

Hi,this is a bit of hen and egg. The field fills in a date/time when the field as empty (null) initially. When you save it with REs you save the prefilled date which in turn locks the date field. 🙂 catch 22....I need to think about a way to prevent the field to be filled when applying REs with Acrobat Pro.

Not sure I understand your use case... An XML Schema Data Connection can be set to transform in- and out-going data via XSLT files. The saveXML() takes the currently active XML below the element you selected (here it is from the top level). It will NOT perform transformations - these happened either when the data connection loaded the data or will hapen when the form gets serialized (saved or submitted). Unless someone else on this forum knows more details, I would assume that this cannot be don...

As @Mayank_Gandhi says you cannot see this in a file because these are settings in the database (also due to security reasons) and before you ask - no I don't know where engineering has placed those. You must have that server up and running to make that change in the adminui. I take it those servers have independent databases? Your best option is to add the below mentioned option to the start file of your application server (or set the JVM options in WebSphere with the applications stopped).)

Generally, many of the LiveCycle/AEM Forms JEE APIs have not changed drastically but they have been recompiled with newer JDKs and libraries. The standard endpoints are still supported as before. If you can you should install an AEM Forms 6.5 JEE test server (DEV license is free) and test your external Java 7 application. REST and SOAP etc are still available and have principally not changed. Nevertheless, you should test this as a jump from 6.1 to 6.5 is huge and the official migration path is co...

That depends how you want the "end of row" to be handled. What will work is that at the end of the page width the table columns will "line-break" - what will not work is that it creates another page where that row will grow on "towards the right".
