Thank you! This seems to work, per the other discussion thread. All fields are clearing except the one I entered in the script.Thanks again

Thank you for your response. Forgive my lack of knowledge, but what is somExpression? It sounds like you are saying that I would have to list all the fields I want to be reset. I have roughly 500 fields, so it would be better if there was some way to have the button reset all but one of them. is there a way that you know of to write the script to exclude one field? I hope that makes sense.Thanks

Does anyone know how I can exlude one of the fields on my form from being cleared when someone uses the 'reset button? I'm okay with all the fields clearing exept for one of them?

I'm not sure if this is what I'm trying to do. Basically, I am going to distribute the form to approx 400 people. I want livecycle to assign a number (1-400) to each form as it is distributed. THis way when person number 30 on the list of recipients submits their form it will have the number 30 in this particular text field. Also, it will show up as 30 every time they submit their form. I hope that makes sense.

I would like to program a unique ID number to each person that I distribute the form to. I know that I can manually change a read only field with the ID number I want, but then I have to save and distribute the form separately every time. Is there a way to have Livecycle assign a different number to each recipiant that will show up on the form when they submit it back.

I am trying to enter a Java Script for a set of yes/no radio buttons, where if you enter yes it will require you to enter text in a nearby numeric field. The script i'm using seems to work, but once the user enters yes just one time, it will not let them change their answer back to no without getting the error message saying that they need to enter text in the other field. Can anyone help me with what I'm doign wrong? Here is the script I'm using.'2' is the value for yes and comappNUM1 and comma...

That didn't seem to work. It is still giving me the error message if I click the "yes" button one time, even if I go back and change my answer to "no". If I originally click the "no" button, it will let me proceed. But if I click "yes" it gives me an error (which I want), but the problem is that it wont let you change your anawer back to "No". It is as if once the command is activated it doesnt recognize if you unclick the "yes" button. Does that make sense? Here is the new script I entered with...

I am trying to java script a yes/no set of radio buttons so that if someone marks the yes button a nearby numeric field becomes mandatory. The script I'm using seemed to work but once the person marks the yes button one time, even if they go back and change their answer to no it keeps giving them the mandatory field error message. Does anyone know what my script is missing? Here it isif(this.rawValue =='2'){comappNUM1.mandatory = "error";comappFC1.mandatory = "error";}else{ }
