Re: Script Syntax Error 30008 and Multiple If(x and y and...)s - Adobe LiveCycle 03-10-2013
Oh, my goodness!!! You are beyond exceptional!!! That will definitely give me the flashlight to shine on my (MANY) issues. That is also some of the best, clear explanation I have seen as I look (constantly!) for help that reads simply for me as a non-coder/ non-tech imagination person. Thank you for that, and thank you for your help and guidance!I appreciate you SO very much! L-E

Re: Script Syntax Error 30008 and Multiple If(x and y and...)s - Adobe LiveCycle 02-10-2013
Oof! Don't I know it! However... I apologize in advance! I've posted 2 versions. One is the form that DOES work -- but doesn't provide for a partial year:https://files.acrobat.com/preview/807a07e3-1e43-44a0-aec8-4e60c062acccThe other is where I am totally stalled out and erroring my syntax. I am obviously in beginning stages with this one, but it includes where I was trying to solve my problem by having a 2-step workaround, and I added the 'secret boxes' numerical fields for yrs 2 and 3 (just to...

Script Syntax Error 30008 and Multiple If(x and y and...)s - Adobe LiveCycle 01-10-2013
I am trying to modify an existing form (that was working well) to allow calculation of a set of values in the event there is a partial year included in the term being analyzed. It is all kinds of a headache as the 'logic' and 'execution' to get there are not as simple as an Excel calculation. In trying out some possible solutions, I have begun having calculation-stopper Script Syntax Errors, and I can NOT figure out the source of the problem. In my Report palette warning tab, I get repeated warni...

Re: Why can't I view my 2nd page when I save the PDF? - Adobe LiveCycle 24-06-2013
Niall,I am frequently grateful for your information and guidance as I am awash in my ignorance as I try to have my forms 'do' what I imagine their doing. In your help for Tomchook, I feel dangerously close in grasping this ... but I don't because I don't understand why things aren't working out. First, I wasn't sure what, of the hierarchy, is the root node that I should right click. I made an assumption that it was the (Master Pages) since that let me insert a new page rather than insert a new m...

Re: Script Error "missing or illegal parameters" - Adobe LiveCycle 16-05-2013
Hi, Did you ever get any help with this or figure it out? I'm going nuts with the present value formula. I got some help in figuring out I had things in the wrong order, but now my problem is that the amount value (in my case a rent value) multiplies exponentially larger rather than growing smaller. In the Excel formula I was working from, it used a negative amount value -- which I can't do with this formula. If you have cracked the code on this (literally!) I would be most grateful to learn fro...

Re: FormCalc script language for calculating PV - Adobe LiveCycle 29-03-2013
FinEng, Thank you SO MUCH!I'm going to take the time to really absorb this and try to make it work. I really appreciate your clear explanation of it all -- and wish I were as smart as you! 🙂I will wave if/when I figure out how to make this work in my form, and share what finally works.Appreciatively,Shu

Re: FormCalc script language for calculating PV - Adobe LiveCycle 27-03-2013
Oh, my, thank you so much! It is truly baffling to me. I’ve attached my efforts for what it’s worth. I try to explain more below.I was basing my ‘assumption’ on this ‘formcalc information’ – but obviously I couldn’t do anything with it as it is too cryptic for a beginner. Here is the Excel formula used in the current spreadsheet:= PV($B$22,B$26,,-C28Where B22 is the Discount rate (e.g. 5%)B26 is a number representing the year number of the prior year in the Term (e.g., the first year pulls a bla...
