I dont know if there is an easier way, but I would just store the user data in global variables and just write switch code to copy to the new subforms.

Thanks Bruce.Yes, "on top of the other" referred to the hierarchy.Your point on sibling subforms was what I was missing.Scott.

This code pulls out the value perfectly on the first row, but does not work on the repeating rows. What am I missing? If(Table1.Row1.ddl[*] == "1" )then Sum(Table1.Row1.Cell9[*])else $ = 0endif

It gets stranger.Form was built with LC ES 4. Reader extentions applied with Acrobat Pro 11.The workflow of prompting with an Open dialog with Reader 11 only works after disabling "Enhanced Security" in Acrobat Pro and clearing LC rights management cache.Is this stuff documented anywhere?Thanks.

I would probably use numeric fields in a table rather stand alone fields.FormCalc is a little more effcient than javascript with this sort of thing. I've used this method:if (HasValue(ExpenseClaim.Page1.MiscExpenses.TableExpense.Row1.Cell6) $.rawValue = Sum(TableExpense.Row1[*].Cell6); else $.rawValue = null endif

Hi,We now use a webservice to submit the xml of the form (and any attachments). At one point we did submit the PDF byte stream to the webservice but now we just render it again with the XML form data. This has the added advantage of allowing us to do some server side checks, things like is the application round still open, does the user have the correct roles, etc.It also allows us to return a reference number to the form, so the user gets confirmation that the form was received.RegardsBruce

The order you see your fields in your hierarchy palette should be the order they come out in data unless you have them bound to a schema.Kyle

Hi,It's pretty hard going at times and sometimes includes things that haven't been implemented in Acrobat/Reader but remember to check out the XFA spec http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/xml/index_arch.htmlThis explains about the empty string value but also talks about user defined views (not just print / screen) which would be very handy way of hiding some fields under certain conditions so you could define a "summary" view for example ... but that bit hasn't been implemented.Bruce

Hi,I'm not sure what happened to the cookbooks I thought they were a great resource, and I did start using them like a FAQ of the questions that came up here.I did move my cookbooks to google, http://adobelivecycledesignercookbookbybr001.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/numbering-rows-in-livecycle-designer.html, and I probably have the samples from the others somewhere if you let me know what your are after.RegardsBruce

Yes, it was set to this. Funny thing, the script halts with a yellow arrow pointing at the "if" line of code, but no exception is reported.Oh well, it's working now. Now I need to move on to my next goal....making it work with multiple table rows.I see a bunch of "resolvenode" in my future....

Here's one method, but I'll be interested if there's a more elegant way.I provided an item made with a space character and this script:if (this.rawValue = " "){this.rawValue = null;}

This was really helpful to me today because I also wanted to be able to delete a page and kept trying to remove an instance of the page I was trying to delete. So thank you for asking this question and getting me the answer altho I think it didn't help you too much.I remeber when I was new and someone would answer my question and I had no idea what they were talking about. So I'm going to try and help.You can put your button to delete the page on any page. I put mine on each page of an inventory...
