Re: pre-populate PDF from XML data - Adobe LiveCycle 28-11-2010
Hi Matt, yes, this workflow is perfectly feasible, not really with solely a standard HTTP server though. There are a variety of options. The issue is that the process of populating the form can usually not be done without any server-side application of logic.- You could use LiveCycle Forms to achieve that. That'd also allow you to use other LC components later on easily , such as Reader Extensions, Process Management or DRM for your documents.- You could use Adobe ColdFusion for pre-populating the...

Re: How to change text in pdf? - Adobe LiveCycle 08-11-2010
What type of a PDF is it?Is it an XFA form or a static PDF? If you just want to change some txt in a static PDF most likely Adobe Acrobat would be the appropriate tool for it.

Re: Form complete, but need to add a simple text page - Adobe LiveCycle 02-11-2010
How's your form structured? Is its content flowing from top to bottom? Normally you'd have a page subform and a master page so that you can easily extend your form to a second or third etc. page. Can you post it on acrobat.com?CheersKai

Re: Which is the best Database to use in LiveCycle ? - Adobe LiveCycle 02-11-2010
The issues with SQL Server are installation issues where an install of SQL Server _can_ create a .dll conflict with a shared .dll LC Designer uses. There's an Adobe tech note on this that describes how to easily fix this.I don't know of any other issues.CheersKai

Re: Weird Problem in LiveCycle - Adobe LiveCycle 27-10-2010
A client of mine had this issue for the first time today, on LC Designer ES 2 as well. Your suggestion with launching Acrobat Pro before Designer fits the bill in so far as they have only Reader installed on that machine.

Re: LiveCycle is getting hanged frequently - Adobe LiveCycle 27-10-2010
Hmm, yeah - that's what I though, Designer is crashing on you. That's hard to debug - can you in some way consistently reproduce it with your form?CheersKai

Re: Pre-populating a text field with editable text - Adobe LiveCycle 26-10-2010
My understanding of the OP's question was that he just wants to pre-populate a multiline text field with some data when the form opens.@usuggestaname - is that what you wanted to know? If yes, that's possible in a few different ways, can you specify your use case a bit further.

Re: LiveCycle is getting hanged frequently - Adobe LiveCycle 25-10-2010
Just to make that clear - 7 pages are not a large form. When I'm speaking of large forms, I'm rather talking about 50-100+ pages.I think to have any option on further help you'd def. need to provide more than:"The error comes sometimes as Microsoft Visual C/C++ error or something like that" CheersKai

Re: LiveCycle is getting hanged frequently - Adobe LiveCycle 25-10-2010
In general, LC Designer crashes occasionally. You'll find it happening more often if you work with huge forms, I myself tend to save a lot when I deal with large forms in Designer.Re your Microsoft Visual Error - that's prob. just the error message of the Designer process dying on your Windows machine. Can you post it here? Also -- have you recently installed any new software on your machine? It can sometimes happen that a change to shared libraries causes weird things to happen. There's for ins...
