Hello!I have taken old code of mine from several forms and tried to wire it into my current form with little success. I'm having several issues that I'll describe below. Also, I'm happy to share the form but didn't see a way to upload a file. How is that usually handled?- I have simple math A+B=C in my dynamic table. The calcuate event works in FormCalc but not in JavaScript- I need to also perform a grand total on this table but I can't get it to work. Like I said, I borrowed this code from ano...

Hello,I searched the forum but wasn't able to find an answer to my question so I'm hoping someone can please help me. I have a drop down list called "type". The options are either "supply" or "service". (I guess this could be a radio button rather than a drop down if that's cleaner.) If "supply" is selected, the "poc" text field label should be "Supply POC" and the "acceptor" text field label should be "wide area workflow acceptor". If "services" is selected, the "poc" text field label should be...

Hey Kyle,Thanks for all your help. I'm hoping you don't mind if I bother you with one more question. I don't have a lot of coding experience so I'm probably overlooking something very simple here. I'm having issues with the "Reset fields in this row" functionality. It works, but it only resets the "Manufacturer Part #" field. I was looking everywhere in the code for this function (someone gave me the general code) but I can't find it anywhere! Can you please tell me where to look? If you don't h...

Thank you so much, Kyle! I posted just the table and the table within the form. I'm sure it's a big mess since it's beyond jury rigged.

Hello!I'm hoping that someone can please help me troubleshoot an issue I'm having with a table in my form. It has a menu associated with each row that allows you to add, delete, reset, etc. rows. The name of the table on the form is the Purchase Items table. It's the first table on the form. Here are the steps to recreate the issue:1. Create 3 rows in the table2. Click the menu ("X") button associated with the first row. 3. Select "Delete this row". Nothing happens.4. Click the menu ("X") button...

Thank again, Mandy. I changed all instances of "Other" to all start with an uppercase "O" but I still can't get it to work! I'm not getting an error, but nothing happens. Thanks in advance! if (xfa.eventnewText == "Other"){ //OR app.alert("You must fill out field B!");//OR xfa.host.messageBox("You must fill out field B!", PLEASE READ", 1,0);xfa.host.messageBox("You must fill out field B!");Other.mandatory = "error";}else{}Other.mandatory = "disabled";

Thanks, Mandy. Should this be on the change event? I'm having trouble getting it to work for some reason. I'm pretty inexperienced so I'm sure I'm overlooking something trivial. This is what I put on the change event: if (xfa.eventnewText == "Other") { //OR app.alert("You must fill out field B!"); //OR xfa.host.messageBox("You must fill out field B!", PLEASE READ", 1,0);xfa.host.messageBox("You must fill out field B!");other.mandatory = "error";}else{other.mandatory = "disabled";}

Thanks a lot! If instead of field A being a text box, I change it to a drop down and it is the option "Other" that requires a entry in Field B, would the code be as follows: if (this.rawValue == "Other") { xfa.host.messageBox("You must fill out field B!"); TextField3.mandatory="error";}else TextField3.mandatory="disabled";

Thanks, Kyle! Your way makes much more sense. I implemented it and now there is a red border around field B when field B is left blank but data is entered into field A. Can you please tell me how to implement a pop up so it's clear to the user that if there is data in field A that field B is required?

Good afternoon,I'm trying to implement a requirement such that if data is entered in text field A then text field B is required. From the research I've done on the forum, I believe I need to use the change event. But the only related entries I've seen involve drop downs or radio buttons and I'm not sure how to translate that into whether or not data is entered into a text field. Thanks in advance!

I have three variables: subA, subB, and subC. Originally I had the math such that (subC=subA/subB) and then I implemented a pattern so subC showed up as a percentage. That resulted in the possibility of subC being > 100%, which the client did not like. They asked if subC > 100%, that N/A appear. So I wrote the following script, which I'm sure is wrong because I don't have a lot of scripting experience and I got a syntax error. Thank you in advance for your assistance. form1.#subform[9].subC::cal...

Good afternoon,I have been working on a form with a client and previous to this revision, my calculations worked just fine. I made a bunch of updates to the form (modifying a collection, renaming fields not involved with my calculations) and then when I tried to render it, I got a FormCalc error on all my calculate events. So I changed all the instances of FormCalc to JavaScript but none of my calculations work anymore - they aren't complicated-just addition and division. I tried getting rid of ...

As always, thank you for your help. I took a stab at the JavaScript but I'm sure I didn't do it right. The fields in Page2Subform are no longer protected when the check box is enabled. And when I initially click the check box, the "x" is grey but when I click it again, it is black. If I click a third time, it goes away. I kept the change event on the check box in CheckBoxSubform. Then I added the following: form1.page2.CheckBoxSubform.notApp::change - (JavaScript, client)if(this.rawValue == '1')...

I demonstrated this functionality to the client and realized that once I enable the check box, that I cannot "unprotect" the page. So I guess I need an "else if" statement to go with this. What I'm worried about is that someone will select the "Not Applicable" check box and then change their mind. I looked for something that would be the opposite of "protect" but couldn't find anything. Any help is appreciated! Saskia

Good morning,I know what I want to do is very simple but I can't seem to figure it out. I have a form with multiple pages. On page 2, I have included a "not applicable" check box. If this check box is enabled, I would like all fields on page two to be disabled. All items (including the "not applicable" check box) on page 2 are wrapped in a subform called "page2". Thank you in advance fo ryour help.Saskia

I am unable to highlight the text in the Value to apply paragraph properties to only a specific part of the text. Am I incorrectly in using Object > Value > Default to enter this text?

Hello,I've received a customer request to put default text into the Value section of a text field. They're requesting that the default text include line breaks, bullets, etc. I added a Text Field object and added the default text to the Object tab > Value tab Default field but can't figure out how to add line breaks, etc.Thanks in advance,Saskia

Scott,Thanks again for your help. I checked that the variable value is hidden and I removed one of the check boxes and used the original change event you provided and I still can't get it to work. The background image still shows up no matter what. Do you think I should try using the radio button list? I don't really need to and it seems unnecessarily complicated to use that instead of one check box. Any ideas on how I should proceed from here?Thanks again,Saskia

Scott,Thanks again for your help. I do have the file saved as a dynamic xml pdf. I'm not super new to forms development, I just don't have a whole lot of scripting experience. The background image still appears no matter if I enable to disable either the Yes or No check box. By default, I do not want the image to appear but it still shows up even though I've set the form variable BackgroundVisiability to hidden. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. I've checked and rechecked my work against ...

Scott,Thank you so much for your help. Your instructions were easy to follow and I think I implemented them as stated above, but I still can't get the functionality to work. I swapped out the radio buttons for check boxes that look like radio buttons and set the form variable BackgroundVisability to hidden, but the image still shows up no matter if I enable or disable the check box/radio button. What's the best way to troubleshoot this kind of issue?Thanks again,Saskia

I'm trying to figure out how to use a radio button to enable a banner/background image so I guess my question is two fold:1. How do I create a background image?2. How do I use a radio button such that when it = Yes, the background image appears.Thanks!

Good morning,I have a two part question. I have a radio button on my form that I would like to behave as follows: if it is set to "Yes", a background image should appear on the form.1. What is the best way to insert a background image into my form?2. How do I enable the behavior such that if the Yes radio button is selected, the background image appears but if the No radio button is selected then it doesn't appear. Thank you in advance for your help.
