I have a requirement to maintain different "versions" of my LiveCycle applications on a single server. I'm using "versions" in quotes because these will not be sequential numbered versions, but rather separate versions for our developement, evaluation, and production environments. I am limited to two LiveCycle servers, so one needs to host versions for theoretical dev, eval, prod environments, and the other will host versions for actual eval and prod environments (separation based on security li...

If I understand correctly, this can't really be done "dynamically." The presence property of my submit button has to be set each time the form is initialized (based on a hidden "form status" field), and changing the value of the hidden field through a LiveCycle process won't actually fire the change event, so I'd have to manually change the presence of the button for that instance of the form. Can properties such as presence be accessed through a LiveCycle process, or would I need to create a sc...

Thanks for the response.I was hoping to have a simpler solution. I added a preSubmit event to my button to set prescence property of the button to "hidden." This seems to work on the open instance of the form, but it doesn't affect the version that gets submitted and saved in my database. Are these types of properties not maintained? This is essential to my solution, because I'm storing the forms in a database, and they will later be accessed directly from the database outside of LiveCycle.I'm g...

I have a form that the user is going to submit outside of Workspace. I added a submit button on the form and hooked that to a LiveCycle process to handle the submitted form (in this case, saving the whole form in a database). However, once the form is submitted, it will be view-only elsewhere in the application, so I want to remove the submit button from the PDF. Is there a way to remove fields/buttons from a PDF in a LiveCycle process?

I've seen a number of examples about how to link forms to a database or extract form data to save the a database, but I need to save a complete PDF with a digital signature in my database. I'm trying to call an existing MS SQL Server stored procedure from a LiveCycle process, but I'm having troube mapping data types between LC and SQL - document to varbinary(max). There has to be a simple way to save a PDF from a LC process to a database. Has anyone done anything like this before?

I'm struggling to nail down a solution using Adobe LiveCycle to digitally sign a PDF (CAC certificate) via a web application (ASP.NET). I've researched a handful of options, and I seem to run into limitations with all of them. I would really appreciate it if anyone has done something like this and can give me a general description of the solution. I'm relatively new to this, and most of the information I find is either too detailed (misses the big picture), or too general with no specifics.Thing...

I'm trying to use the Digital Signature service to sign a PDF document using a CAC card from a .NET web application. At the moment, I'm just using a sample PDF that I created in LiveCycle Designer with a signature field. I'm retrieving the users CAC certificate and calling the service from my web application, but I'm getting errors related to alias and SPIName (I'm not even sure what this is).Does the signer's private key need to reside on (or provide direct access to) my LiveCycle server? I was...

I'm using XSLT Tranformation service to transform an incoming XML document to a different format. I've tested this successfully using a literal value for my XSL, but I'd like to store the XSL in a separate file rather than storing it as a literal string in the process properties. However, I don't see any way to reference an XSL file in the process properties. The only options are XPath expression, variable (string), literal value, and template.Alternatively, maybe there is a way to read the cont...
