Jasmin, Jayan, Paul, Anyone? Having some problems. We had been built a process with Workbench ES2 while connected to a 32 bit LiveCycle ES2 server. Everything worked fine with the process there. I could record and playback process instances. I exported the process and imported to a 64 bit LiveCycle ES2 server. Now, when I connect via workbench to the 64 bit server, and try to do anything with this process, I run out of memory. My desktop is 32 bit OS. I changed the Xmx setting to 1024 but it sti...

Well, found the answer. Seems that under the "Workspace user Interface" settings, I need to select "Default" and not "Approval Container".

I should clarify that I DO see the tab when the form is first submitted. Regardless of whether I enter any comments or not on this task, the subsequent approval steps DO NOT see the attachments tab. This worked fine in ES. Is this broken in ES2?

When I open a task, I can see the old tabs (from ES) show for just an instant and then they disappear. At the bottom of the approval container, I see buttons for Actions on the left and icons on the right for "info", "View Stat" and comments. But, the attachments tab is nowhere to be found.I have enabled attachments for each "assign task" activity in my process. I also created a list variable of document subtypes for the input and output for the attachments throughout the entire process. Still n...

This should be simple, right? I have a PDF form that is submitted. At a certain step in the process, I need to modify the value of one field from within the process. I am using a PDF document in the default formData document variable. To do this, I am using the exportData operation from the FormDataIntegration service to get XML. I then use the setValue service to modify one node of the XML. Finally, I use the importData operation from the FormDataIntegration service to import the modified data ...

We have deployed Workspace ES2. Our new desktops have acrobat 9 installed, but not Reader. Workspace has operated without any issues for over 2 months for our limited number of users. Yesterday, I opened a PDF form outside of workbench inside acrobat. I then edited the form and it launched designer for me to view the edit layout of the form. I did not change the form. I then closed the form and exited Acrobat. That form remained on my desktop and was NOT imported into workbench or any applicatio...

I have a form that after submitted should be locked down. It goes through about 5 levels of approval before completing. No one in the workflow should be able to modify any data in the form except for the first level approver. If the last approver needs something changed, he/she must send back to first approver for an edit request. How do I lock down the form to prevent anyone from making changes? At each step in the process, we capture a "signature" (certificate based) and that must be preserved...

Hey Jasmin, Jayan, et al,I have a custom render where I need to query a couple different datasources, then combine that xml and merge with the pdf to display. Basically I need to pre-populate from two different sources. I'm having a brain freeze here and not sure of the best way to merge the XML back into one xml variable to merge with the form. Should I use XSL transform? I know how to reference xml files in xsl transforms, but how do I reference the xml variables I use for the results from the...

This may be a really silly question, but I need some help. I imported an LCA from ES to ES2 by importing into a new application. I applied access controls to it and allowed a particular developer to open the process. When he attempts to open the process, he cannot. No error messages at all, he just can't open the process. Any thoughts?

Got about halfway done with the tutorial and realized that it requires LiveCycle Output ES2. That is an optional component that we don't have. I would assume many others don't as well. Did anyone catch this fact before now? It is not documented in the document as required, but the services you have to configure do indeed require it. Thoughts?http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_lc_firstApplication_9

Hi Jasmine et al,I have an xdp and created a data connection to a web service. I have one input parameter and 4 output. I have done the bindings for the input and output. I put a default value in the input field and then invoked the web service in javascript from the initialize event of an unrelated field. I would like to invoke from the input field anytime the user mouses out or changes the value, but cannot get any of those events to work. I also added the "invoke" button to the form but that ...

Hi Paul,Brian and I work together on this project. Thanks for your help with Brian thus far. I do have a broader question directly related to this. Many of our forms will be rendered in Workspace and most will be pre-populated from an Enterprise database. To make this easier, especially with the 'query to XML' service, we want our forms to have a 3 level xml structure. To ease the pre-population and the data extraction, we decided to create xml schemas for all our forms and bind to xml schema. S...

I have a process that requires 10 people to review and approve a form before it can move on. It does not need to be sequential and time is of the essence, so I have used a gateway and created 10 different branches. The issue is that if any one of the 10 people deny the request, all the others should receive an email notification and the process should end. I could put 3 routes out of each review step with the names "approve", "deny" and "cancel". Then, if one denies, an email notification would ...

Hi Jasmin or Jayan or anyone else that can answer.I have a requirement to use Digital Signatures. Because of that, the forms must be static PDFs and the form variables will be “document form”. I want to pre-populate the form via an SQL query and custom render process and render it as PDF so that the submitter can apply a digital signature when he/she is done and ready to submit for approvalSubsequent approvers will also digitally sign the form. I know that I will specify the custom render to ren...

I put the datasource in a separate datasource file and I now see the following error: Exception: HCSO not bound. Cause: HCSO not bound. So, that did not help.

I have set up a development environment to develop some processes for the HCSO client and have a question. I have a turnkey install on my laptop with MYSQL. The liveCycle databases are in MYSQL. I have also installed SQL Server Express on this machine and created a table to query that will control workflow. I added a datasource configuration in the adobe-ds.xml configuration file. That configuration is: HCSO jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=DBName com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServ...

Hi Jasmin et al,I have a question about installing LiveCycle on VMWare with 64 bit OS, JDK etc on windows. Can I use the Adobe pre-configured version of JBoss in a 64 bit environment, or does it need to be an advanced manual install of JBoss? The documentation about "Preparing to install LiveCycle ES (single server)" is not clear. It looks as if you merely need to modify the run.bat file and that you can use the preconfigured JBoss that is included in the download. Can someone confirm?ThanksEric

Hi Jasmin et al,I have a need for "observers" to see the current state of business processes that are running. They are not part of a business process at all. We want them to be able to just view the current step of the process and who has approved up until the current step. Somewhat of an auditing role. I do not see any native way to handle this. It seems that I will need to write a JSP or FLEX application that will query for the logged in user, then query LiveCycle Process Management for relev...

Hi, this is a silly question I am sure, but I would love to see the possible values for strFormat in the function format-dateTime-withFormat. The format for the call in the XPath developer is format-dateTime-withFormat(strDateTime, strFormat, (language, country, variant, timezone)?) The documentation does not list this function and I cannot find anything about strFormat. Any ideas?

Jasmin,For workspace, I add the process fields which includes the submit button. That submit button is then rendered as a "Complete" button in workspace. I assume that I can add my script to that submit button, correct? Thanks!Go Habs!

I have terminated several process instances, but the individual tasks remain in my to do list. When I open up the tasks and look at the details, I see that the process status is terminated. Why don't the tasks go away?
