So I built my client tonight against AIR 2.7 (on OSX) but for some reason my mic isn't working. In another section of my application I was able to record audio using mic = Microphone.getEnhancedMicrophone(-1) and play it back so at least I know that part is working.I can connect to my older client and I can hear audio and see video coming from them but no audio coming from me. Maybe I've just fallen behind the times with LCCS.In debug I can see that my audioPub is using the enhanced mic, and has...

Does the latest LCCS swc support AEC in AIR 2.7? From reading the forums I'm getting the idea that AEC is just always turned on now and I all I would have to do is build my app against the latest swc and AIR 2.7. I just thought I'd ask before I started down a wrong path.Thank you,-Eric

I may be putting my foot in my mouth but I'd bet if you want AEC you have touse speex. I'm guessing the flash player AEC implementation is based on thespeex AEC unless they went out and licensed someone's AEC code for all flashplayer users. Anyone know if that's true?-Eric

Looks like it doesn't use the standard microphone You have to do a var enhancedMicrophone:Microphone = Microphone.getEnhancedMicrophone(); instead. So are you guys going to gift us with an updated LCCS library tomorrow -Eric

Ah now that is a completely different problem. That's a flash player /Firefox / Safari bug and we are plagued with it as well. In fact I thinkthis one has been around for a long time (a year or more?). Last time Igot an update it looked like flash was pointing the finger at the browsersand the browsers didn't care. I'd love to know how to get around this ifanyone knows. It's a real PITA especially if you develop on a mac.-Eric

Wasn't there a problem for a little while with the OSX 10.6.5 update, andflash recognizing i-sight cameras? I know I got bit by that during a systemdemo where my mac camera didn't work with LCCS. Here's one of many articlesabout it:http://www.unixweblog.com/2010/12/solutions-to-the-mac-isight-camera-problems-with-flash-applications/Just a thought. If I remember right a flash player upgrade to 10.2 fixedthe problem, but it was a few weeks ago.-Eric

Pretty sure he means that flash player itself does not support mp3 encoding. So you couldn't take audio into flash player, encode it to mp3 and thensend it somewhere to be decoded. We ran into this when we wanted to record mp3 messages for our application. We ended up use lame to do the encoding externally. Hope that helps.-Eric

They used to not recommend it but I think you can. I know my first one usedflex but it was just a hello world app, oh and it was a PITA to get going. I'd say objective-c would be a better choice... but I don't think LCCSallows for connections from anything other than flash/air. Although thatwould be nice if anyone is listening -Eric

Yeah flash does not have acoustic echo cancellation so withoutheadphones you will get feedback. That echo cancellation you see nowreally just turns down the mike gain. We've all been fighting thisfor years. There's a long standing bug with the flash player team about it. Thegood news is they announced in that bug the other day that AEC will bein the next beta release of 10.2 so cross your fingers -EricSent from my iPhone

Don't know if this helps but your message made me concerned so I loaded 10.2(not the debug version) and tested our LCCS application using firefox 3.6.12and Mac OSX 10.6 and it worked without throwing an error. Of course we'reprobably doing different things with LCCS than you -Eric

I'm about to, finally, convert my dev account to a live account. Are there any gotchas I need to know about? I was just going to put in my credit card info. Is there anything else I need to do? Hopefully I don't have to update all my clients with a new key...Thank you,-Eric

Did they change the account urls you can use? I see yours is: $host = "http://collaboration.adobelivecycle.com"; but we use:$accountURL = "https://connectnow.acrobat.com/esteimle"; I could just not be keeping up with the times, it looks like I'm using the much older version of the SDK than you are. Anyway I was looking at your code and ours and I see that we get and store the session and token info "before" we try to create the room where you do it after. Perhaps there is some cleanup that runs ...

I may be missing what you are asking for but I took a look at our php code again. It looks like we always get the connection-failed message whenever a room exists and that's how we know it exists already. I seem to remember someone at Adobe telling me that is how it is supposed to work. Anyway after that error we just connect to the room, the connection-failed error doesn't affect us.I feel like that probably doesn't answer your question though.-Eric

If I remember correctly you don't get a latency value in P2P mode. Fromthe spec "The amount of latency in milliseconds between the user and theserver." No server no latency Someone else may correct me though.-Eric

I wouldn't say it's "compatible" but we do a combination of xmpp andLCCS in our product. If your using air you could use your client tobridge the two networks. If your a swf I think you'd need to do thebridge with your own xmpp server just because of sandbox securityrestrictions on socket connections.-EricSent from phone

Dan, We do something pretty similar to what you are talking about. Westarted from Stratus with an XMPP backend and now we use LCCS as our videoservice. The main change was switching to rooms instead of passing IDs.So now if a user initiates a call the client connects to our server and usesthe server side apis to create a room and then we use XMPP to share the roomname. Then both parties join the room to meet up. We reuse our rooms butI suppose you don't have to.It is possible to disable failover...

They wrote to the whole world, no applications developed with the Adobepackager are allowed in the app store. From an article:Adobe is no longer investing in iPhone-based Flash development, Adobeprincipal product manager Mike Chambers wrote in a Tuesday blogpost. The move comes after Apple put out new draft of its iPhone developer programlicense, which banned private APIs and required apps to be written inObjective-C, C, C++, or JavaScript as executed by the iPhone OS WebKitengine.-Eric
