Re: Simple? Allow page breaks, but don't break a captioned text field to begin with.

If I understand this correctly then it should be pretty easy. On the subform you want to uncheck the box that says: Allow Page Breaks Within Content. this can be found within the Object Subform dialog box What should happen is that when you get to the bottom of the page that subform will push to the next page however it should flow over pages if it goes the full length of the page. Let me know if that works for you

Hi there,I'm struggling with an issue of usability.I have a complex form which increases in size when the user enters more text - many pages where there are info boxes of text that are hidden when printing - this has a knock on effect that page numbers on screen don't match page numbers when printing.I got help from Radzmar (thank you!) who gave me the code for a print button that prints a section rather than a page number span; so when the user clicks the button:var vObj = xfa.resolveNode("form...

I think that is how most of us learn on here. There is a way it can be done. When you get back to it let me know and I will see if I can help you out.

Re: Livecycle Designer - print pages from expanding sections

Okay, so after some research I can see that the reason why it's not working is because the functions are working asynchronously ... so irrespective of the order, they all work pretty much at the same time. Problem is, I'm not sure about how to go about splitting them into two sections (hide the info panels FOLLOWED BY printing the section). I think I may need a set time out or a callback function. Can anyone help?

Many many thanks Bruce - this seems to work well. The remove buttons in each table are independent so they don't need to link. I need to reincorporate it into the real document, but can't see there being a problem. Thanks for all your help!Sunil

I'm still struggling with this, but have revamped the question and almost got it to work. I've started a new thread with a more succinct question here: always fill out the very last row of a table (which can expand)

Your second 2 in the messageBox method means show Yes and No buttons, a 1 would show Ok and Cancel, so the values returned can be;1 (OK)2 (Cancel)3 (No)4 (Yes)More info here, Adobe LiveCycle ES3 * messageBox

Okay guys, sorry for bumping this but I'm at a loss as what to do here - is it simply something that is too tricky or does anyone else have any ideas.Radzmar's code in point 6 works a treat until the page number increases/decreases and then the text field disappears throughout. I think what I'm looking for is a couple of checks that go if the page number increases run the code again AND also when sending to print check again. Not getting this at the moment and I've been at it for several days. Of...

ah, no, it didn't quite work - it's working on some master pages but not on others. As I've said this is the correct answer I'll post another question.

sorted it - thought I would post it here so someone else can use if they need to.The correct code is:form1.Review.reviewsub.reviewtable._planrow.count = form1.plan.plansub.plantable._planrow.count; var vCol1 = this.resolveNodes("form1.plan.plansub.plantable.planrow[*].better"); var vCol2 = this.resolveNodes("form1.Review.reviewsub.reviewtable.planrow[*].better");var vCol3 = this.resolveNodes("form1.plan.plansub.plantable.planrow[*].wb"); var vCol4 = this.resolveNodes("form1.Review.reviewsub.revi...

sorted this one out by copying all the word doc text into a basic text editor and removing all the formatting. I can then paste this text into LC and hey presto, changing styles works!

Hi there - didn't have to use any coding at all - just gave the text field the exact same name as the radio button set.As soon as the user clicks on one of the radio buttons the text field changes to 0 or 1. However, the next step is to go back to the radio buttons and in the object palette - binding tab change the values (double click on each one) from 0 to left and 1 to right.I get the feeling this is a bit of an ugly way to do it, and I do really need to learn how to do it with scripting.

I like Jono's solutuon but need it to be modified as such: For a simple explanation, lets say Yes/No radio buttons are added to the rows in Table 1 to serve as determining factors whether or not to add that row to Table 2. How would this script be modified? Also, please note that I will not be using an Add row button. The total row count in Table 1 will be known/ preset, however, Table 2 will have no rows to start. So, instead of matching the same table count (apples to apples), the form would on...

That's odd. If you are indeed opening in Adode Reader on Mac then it "shouldn't" be an issue.

In the end I gave up and manually added each section of my form bit by bit from a back -up. I found the offending table - however, even when deleting it from the file that didn't work it would still bring up the aforementioned error.Anyway, it's back working again.
