I have exactly the same problem, could you make this work? It's strange, but after my first installation, everything was working just fine with Launchpad, but now it's failing after i hade to rerun configuration manager.
Found out that input folder is created (somehow) in teh installation folder of the LIfecycle ES2. So for example if LC is installed to:d:\Adobe\LC_ES2 the inout folder is created here:d:\Adobe\inputBut this seems not to be correct, right? or have i missed some configurations?
