Re: Is there a task role that equates to project owner? - Workfront 04-04-2019
This would be a great feature request if it's not built-in. For the most part in our environment, the project manager who converts a request to a project is the "Project Manager" that should be used for those tasks assigned to that role. Would save the PM (or the resource manager) time if this was automatic! Kevin Quosig

Re: enabling default text for paragraph text fields - Workfront 04-04-2019
I used to do this with Word-based fields and forms all the time and miss it in Workfront. Implement this not just for Paragraph fields, but for single-line text fields as well.

Re: Ability to deactivate fields - Workfront 04-04-2019
I love this idea; we're still in implementation and I can see where this is going to be a need down the road.

Re: To Charge or Not to Charge? - Workfront 01-04-2019
We have an inhouse agency and have been doing cross-charging for over 20 years. So yes, our clients "pay" (some by the job, and new to us is doing some on an agency-style retainer). We don't operate as a profit center, we merely aim to work at-cost including overhead, personnel, equipment, supplies, etc. In doing so, we have created a premier full-service inhouse agency of over 175 people including FTE and contingent workers: design, production, separations, comps, experiential, multimedia, trad...

Re: PTO Enhancements needed - Workfront 25-03-2019
Ugh, we're still doing implementation now and I'll have to keep this one in mind alongside managing overtime... Kevin Quosig

Re: Visibility of Global Navigation Bar and Project Header when scrolling - Workfront 21-03-2019
Upvoting, but with the caveat stated by David Cornwell...keep a "reduced vertically" form of the header when scrolling.

Re: Remove the Overtime box - Workfront 20-03-2019
Another reason to remove this box: because it just confuses the user and is not task-based for accountability for that overtime. Some project has to pay for that overtime, it should always be tied to a task.

Re: Provide an overtime calculation on the timesheet instead of just a meaningless overtime box - Workfront 20-03-2019
Upvoting. This should include 1.5x (overtime) and 2.0x (holiday) pay distinctions as well as the ability to include overtime-by-day (anything over 8 hours) and overtime-by-week (anything over 40 hours) distinctions. The "overtime" box on the timesheet is pretty much useless since we need to know OT at the task level (which task, and thus which project, is going to absorb the extra cost for overtime) for accountability and project costs. Our implementation specialist gave us a workaround (glad we...

Re: Idea Exchange Promotion - Workfront 15-03-2019
"Shameless plug" discussion; I'm good with that. HR Admin vs. SysAdmin "https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360028785333-HR-Admin">https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360028785333-HR-Admin I'm told via a member of our Workfront implementation team that this has been a headache for more than just us, and that their development team is giving this (or something like it) serious consideration. The basic gist is that Workfront straddles a line between Project Ma...

Re: Locked Proofs - Workfront 13-03-2019
In our process we don't have Creatives working directly with clients/reviewers in this circumstance, so it looks more like this: Project Manager uses PDF from creatives to start a proof routing Reviewers make comments (creatives do not participate in proof routings) Project Manager looks at comments PM creates work order for additional creative work or otherwise relays changes to creatives If creatives have questions, they ask the PM (not the reviewers) I will assume that off-process there may b...
