Hi David, in general you're right. We usually differentiate the domains by the server variable, but in this case this isn't working properly due to some known reasons. That's why I'm asking if there is maybe a workaround.

Hi, in the mobile carrier report we have two items, one "Not distinctive" the other "unknown". What is the difference between the two and how are they generated?

I'm currently having the problem that we have two different domains that are tracked into one report suite. Usually we differentiate this based on one variable which tells us the domain name. This time though due to a mistake this information is the same for the two different domains and I have no variable with which I could distinguish the two, because they are basically identical pages, just under different domains. Unfortunately the domain information is cut off the page name and the page URL...

Hi,for analyzing direct traffic, would you suggest using a segment based on the referring domain report (referring domain does not exist) or using the referrer type report (referrer type equals typed/bookmarked)?What's the difference? In my understanding there shouldn't be any, but if I look at the numbers, the set up with "referring domain does not exist" gives me more hits, more visits and more visitors (about 10-15% higher figures). How come?

One simple question:Can I rearrange the dashboard structure in my own personal site navigation menu? I mean the one that pops up when clicking "View all reports". As me and my organization share quite a lot of dashboards this gets quickly confusing and time consuming when looking for a certain report. It would be good to create directories and naming them.In the Dashboard Manager I couldn't find anything similar. Is there any such feature? Thanks for your attention.

Hello everyone,I too have a question regarding this topic. I'd like to create a segment that excludes all traffic happening after a certain event. I created the segment "event exists". Now I'd like to look at all data before this event is set (like average time spent, visit depth, pages per visit and so on).I took a look at sequential segmentation and tried to exclude the specific traffic by setting up a segment based on "hit" level where "Event exists" then added a container that excludes "Page ...

Is this possible for child classifications too? I hv two classifications for trackers. A parent one and a child one which groups them. In the child classification I'd like to set the "Nones" to "direct". I tried to classify it with multiple classfication (as described here: https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/reference/c_classifications_example.html) setting Key value "*" and parent classification "~none~" as well as parent classification "None" (as it appears in the report). Thanks for explaining. Indeed, in this case I became aware that the website is not only acting as a search engine but also as a mail provider and a news site. Seems some traffic were some links.

When does a search engine count as such and not merely as a referring domain?I'm asking this question because if I look at our referring domains report it says that we have (for example) 159 Unique Visitors for the item "virgilio.it" (Referrer Type filter selected as "all"). But if I switch the Referrer Type to "Search Engines" I get only 70 Unique Visitors for the same item. How is that possible?(Same time period, no other segments applied...)

I did a test regstration and by applying an User Agent breakdown I can identify my user and my behaviour. And I found out that my registration is subsumed under "Unspecified", whereas the other actions are subsumed under the correct item in the line. How can that be?

When looking at the search engine reports for organic and paid traffic, if I apply a success event metric, e.g. registrations, what exactly does this figure tell me?How is it calculated? And what do the "Unspecified" line mean in this reports? As I understood it, it is similar to the "Nones" in other reports, which means that I should neglect it. But I did a test registration and I believe that it subsumed my registration under "unspecified" instead of the respective search engine. How's that po...

I read this article https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/mobile/android/metrics.html but I couldn't get the difference between very similar metrics as e.g. First Launches, Daily engages users, Monthly engaged users etc and First time visitor, Daily unique visitor, monthly unique visitor... Are they not the same? If I compare them in the Key metrics report, the numbers are totally different: On one day I have 3 times more Daily unique visitors than Daily engaged users. Or I have almos...

I know this would be best practice, but unfortunately the structure has grown as it is over time and it would need additional development efforts to change that. This would be a long term solution, maybe there's a short term solution to it. Changes via admin console would be handy.

Hi! In our Adobe Analytics' settings the IP range of the whole company is excluded, in order not to inflate the numbers in the reports. Is there any way for me to circumvent this exclusion, so I can see my behavior in Analytics reports? Maybe there is some tool? Where does Analytics get the information about my IP adress? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I know that if I apply a custom event in the Pages report, the success events are distributed in a linear way among the items. Therefore we copy the Page values to an eVar, for which we have selected "Most recent (last)" as allocation model, which means that no matter which custom event I apply, I will only get a figure if the event was fired in the same image request. Is that correct?I'm asking because if I apply a success event in that report it shows me some events happened on some pages,...

Hi! While investigating some user flows I found that on some of our pages we use 3rd party cookie tracking. When I look at paths that should lead from pages with 1st party cookie tracking to pages with 3rd party cookie tracking, I find that the user session seems to be ended. I have only exits, whereas if I look the other way round, if I look at the pages with 3rd party cookies where their traffic is coming from, I find only entries, which isn't true. So the user session seems to be interrupted ...

Hi,I'm a big fan of calendar events and make heavy use of them. But this can get quite annoying for reporting because all reports, no matter if the event concerns them or not, are marked with colorful lines and spots. I often get questions what do these lines mean, even though it doesn't concern the specific report but just the report suite. Is there a way to disable the calendar events for scheduled reports/dashboards?

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I did not mean the filter but the segment, as shown in the screenshot. The example in the screenshot shows that even if a segment is applied, the total number is completely different. Let's stick to the screenshot example: shouldn't the total be the same amount as the item?

While trying to filter direct traffic, I experienced that when applying the segment in the key metrics report the values for success events and traffic don't match when applied in the "Referring Domains" report. When appying the segment in the referring domains report the totals don't even match with the line item for direct traffic. Shouldn't they match?Pls see the screenshot attached for better understanding.

Hi!I'd like to measure the CTR of certain internal elements. Until now I know how they perform, I know how many clicks a banner, a link etc. gets, but I do not know the Click through rate, since the pure rendering is not being tracked. I hv some elements which are shown to only a limited user group and I'd like to track the rendering AND the clicks on it. Can I track the rendering of elements?

While segmenting traffic from paid searches on our website I discovered that in segment manager there are 2 dimensions that seem to relate to the same thing, but the numbers slightly differ when applied in a report. What is the difference between dimension "Paid Search" and "Search engine - Paid"?
