Hi, and welcome Yup, I’d have your PHP create a new room for each conversation on the fly, create authentication tokens for the 2 users, then send each user the authtoken and roomURL for connecting. (Use the third parameter of createRoom, $deleteOnExit, so that the room cleans itself up automatically afterwards). hope that helps nigel

A SharedProperty should do the trick here. You could wire it up like (warning, pseudocode) :protected var selectedViewIndex:SharedProperty = new SharedProperty();In some init function, you’d have to run this :selectedViewIndex.sharedID = “selectedViewIndex”; // or whatever you want to name itselectedViewIndex.subscribe();MXML code :And then your code on buttonclick would essentially be :selectedViewIndex.value = 3; // or whatever the selectedIndex you wanted is.Hope that helps nigel

Hi Jeff, I can tell it's not using an archiveID, because it's not in the traces - the "&playback=" variable (we discussed it a few posts back), for example, is missing. You sure that you're passing a non-null archiveID to the ConnectSession?

Sure, but you notice that you’re not passing an actual ID – you’re passing a string with the word “transactionId” in it. It looks a little like you’ve neglected to bind something properly, and are passing the property name rather than its value. nigel

Hi Jeff, I'm seeing something weird in the 2nd line of the traceout there : where it says "&playback=data.collab bundle.transactionId" - usually this should be where your archiveID is posted, but that doesn't seem like a valid archiveID. roomURL is included in order to namespace the recording, but the original room doesn't necessarily have to exist (a little confusing, I know, but we'd designed ourselves into a bit of a corner in requiring a roomURL earlier, and couldn't change it). hope that he...

Hi Tilak, A couple of suggestions : 1. Make sure you’re setting these BEFORE starting to publish the screen share. Unfortunately, because it needs to launch a plugin, this can’t be set after sharing has started. 2. Try setting bandwidth to 0. This will use as much bandwidth as required. As noted in the prior thread, we have a bug in the docs (it turns out there is ASDoc written for screensharepublisher, but they were placed on the setters rather than the getters, which results in the docs not bei...

Hi Siva, In general, if you want the highest quality, you should set fps to something quite high (24 is high), quality to 100 (no compression), and set bandwidth to 0 (meaning, use all available bandwidth). Looking over the screenshare publisher docs, they’re missing the detail needed... I’m adding this to the backlog. For now, just use the WebcamPublisher as a guide to these settings (they’re roughly the same for both). thanks nigel

I can't imagine that this had any impact on the error you were showing, or that the 2.0 SDK did anything related to either of these. Glad things are working for you though. nigel

Hi All,We just released LCCS 2.1.0 and wanted to share the love. As always, just open the SDK Navigator, and you'll get asked to unzip the latest SDK.Release Notes :Version 2.1.0 (Sept 15, 2011)This release is relatively more quiet - we're fixing bugs reported by the community, trying to make sure we keep up with quality goals. We did take some time to VASTLY improve webcampublisher, making it easier to set resolution to any custom value.Bugs Fixed ::: thanks to javram, figured out how to make o...

Hi there, Close, but I still can't tell which node was trying to publish.. It seemslike it's the roomManager, which should be fully subscribed and synched bythe time the SynchronizationChange event happens. Are you sure the sessionis actually in sync at the time? The event fires both when you sync up andwhen you go out of sync (reconnect or disconnect). You can test this withcSession.isSynchronized. nigel

HI Jeff, Which collection node is firing the error? You should be able to drill down in the error stack in Flash Builder's debug panel to find out. I suspect you're calling isRecording before the ConnectSession is synchronized, which might cause this. Make sure to wait for ConnectSession's "synchronizationChange" event before starting recording. hope that helps nigel

Hi there, It does create the recording after the session ends, but the sessiondoesn't end until 5 minutes after the last client leaves the room (this isso that we can make sure the room is really out-of-use rather than becauseof a reconnect, and avoid startup costs). You can control recording more granularly from your server by using theserver integration libs to stop the recording. nigel

Hi there, Your formula seems about right, although I think you might want to refineyour kbps rates by running a quick test app at the settings you intend touse, and then using the "logs" tab of the room console to watch bandwidthutilization. nigel

Hi Davis, One way to "slice" this (literally!) is that you could actually make asuccession of recordings for the same real-time event. At playback time, youcould drive through each recording in sequence - any given recording wouldbe a lot smaller. nigel

Hi Joe, Re-read my previous post - Once you stop using developer authentication inyour app (a no-no to begin with), and use external authentication, you cangenerate whatever userIDs you'd like. A developer has a fixed userID, whichyou can't control, so you're seeing this as a result. nigel

Hi Joe, Man, a bit of friendly advice on forums : I REALLY appreciate the effort you put into being as detailed as possible. BUT =), there comes a point when it's just too much too digest in one sitting. Any process of narrowing down what you perceive the problem to be would be very appreciated, because right now I feel I'm trying to drink from a firehose. Anyhow, as to your post with points 1-8 (!! - and then conclusion 1-2, and addenda 1-3, confusingly), all of 1-7 are expected behavior if you...

Hi Joe, Ok, if you could take this the next step I mentioned, it might help - each time you create a new session, also create a new Authenticator. You seem to be in some state where you're using cached credentials from old authenticators. So :plAuth = new AdobeHSAuthenticator()plAuth.userName = AUTH_USER_NAME;plAuth.password = AUTH_PASSWORD;plSession = new ConnectSession();plSession.authenticator = plAuth;plSession.roomURL = LCCS_ROOMURL+ROOM_PRELOBBY; let us know if this helps nigel

Hi Dan, Is this a technical limitation that can't be solved or just a featured thatmight be implemented in the future?Might be implemented in the future, but low in priority. So screen sharing will use multicast?Screensharing doesn't support multicast at this time.Do you plan to add netgroup support to whiteboard and chat in the future? As I say, you can set the nodeConfigs for your whiteboard or chat nodes touse p2p data messaging. nigel
