Hi Flo,Yes, this would be a problem if your expiration settings are really set to "1 week" and "90 days". Those are probably not the settings that you currently have though. I would just check in the admin console to make sure the expiration timeframe on these two variables are similar. But in evaluating your screenshots in response to Arun, it looks like your problem is scenario 2. Your marketing channel processing rules are tagging traffic as "Affiliate Marketing" when there isn't a tracking co...

5-10 years ago there were plenty of reasons to use props (eVars didn't have pathing capabilities), but as Adobe Analytics has matured over time, most organizations are now reporting pretty exclusively using eVars instead of props. In fact, it used to be a best practice to duplicate all eVar variables into prop variables, but that is no longer recommended, as it creates 2 separate reports for each variable and generally just leads to more confusion.Because props don't persist, which limits their ...

Ah man... going for a breakdown and finding "unspecified" is always the worst, right? The first things I would check are...1. Are your variable expirations for tracking code and marketing channels the same? If your tracking code is set to expire after a week, but the marketing channel doesn't expire for 90 days, then 2 weeks after someone clicks through an affiliate campaign, the marketing channel would still be "Affiliate Marketing" but the tracking code would have expired by then. If this is t...

For scenario 1:Are you building the segment to contain HITS where tracking code contains "emaildd", or is it VISITS or VISITORS. I suspect that your segment was built to contain visitors with "emaildd", which means if a person came to your site at any point with the "emaildd" tracking campaign, their entire visitor history will be included in your segment, and you'll be showing any other tracking codes that they've also interacted with, both before and after the "emaildd" tracking code.Building ...

Visit and Visitor based segments can and should give you very different results. A visit based segment will only include the visit where the defined action takes place, where a visitor based segment will include every single visit for a visitor where the defined action takes place.(both before, during, and after the order)So if I am a visitor who orders on my 3rd visit, a segment that shows visits with orders will only show the interactions in my 3rd visit, but a segment that shows visitors with...

Additionally, it would be nice to add a toggle in the VRS settings that would give the option of "auto including new components created in the parent RS" or "auto excluding new components created in the parent RS".I would select "auto exclude" If I'm using this VRS to serve only a select few components to a specific set of users, but I would use "auto include" if I only wanted to exclude a few specific components, but I want all new components to be included in the VRS by default.

For us, we use VRS component customization purely for renaming components, and not for excluding/including specific components. So it would be nice to have a checkbox that auto-includes everything in the VRS.

In all the documentation, I don't ever see it mentioned that you can upload the country variable in a data source file. Has anyone tried including country in a data source file to see what happens (not as an eVar, but with "country" as the header)? I know that the country is based on IP address, so it makes sense why this might not work, but just thought I'd check.

DO NOT use s.visitorID for cross device tracking unless all of your visitors are authenticated throughout their entire experience. If someone comes to your site unauthenticated (MCID) and then you switch them to s.visitorID once they log in, they will appear as a new visitor at that point, which means any persistent variables that analytics had attached to those users will break at that point.Rather than using s.visitorID, take a look into the Adobe Device Co-op for linking cross-device - Overvi...

If you're reporting on "Unique Clicks" in DCM, this will only report one click per user, regardless of whether that person clicked multiple times. Where adobe will report a new visit each time that unique user clicks through on a campaign. This difference in reporting methodology ihas the potential to cause the inconsistency you're seeing. Especially if this is a retargeting campaign, and the same users will be seeing the same ads multiple times. Is DCM showing more unique clicks than Adobe is s...

It would look something like this. Make sure to select "after sequence" (highlighted in red circle). Also, this segment will only show the first time that the...

Go up to "Components", then "Date Ranges". Create one date range for Current MTD and another for Last Year MTD.For Current MTD, set the rolling dates to: START: start of current month END: end of current dayFor Last Year MTD, set the rolling dates to: START: start of current month minus 12 months END: end of current day minus 365 daysAnd now you have two dynamic date ranges that you can pull into any project for year over year MTD.

We've implemented an eVar that on each href click collects a concatenation of current URL + destination URL + link text/title/name, then we split those out into 3 classifications with the classification rule builder. So I can easily break down all links driving to and from any specific page on our site.

Unfortunately, I haven't come up with a segment that you can apply to any page and have it work without first specifically identifying that page in the segment. If you use your method of "page exists" that will only capture the first page of their first visit during your specified timeframe. So that segment will work if you're pulling unique visitors sitewide, but if you're pulling reports by page, and that first page view isn't on the specific page that you are looking at, then it won't show up ...

If the campaign has a vanity url or go-code that redirects before a page load occurs, then the referring domain will usually be lost at this stage, as the landing page will think it was the redirect that is the referrer, rather than the original referring domain.Similarly, if your banner/display ads are directing users to a redirect, the referrer will probably be "typed/bookmark" too unless your redirect is ...

If any tracking code/campaign exists, capture and use as the marketing channel (includes search, social, display, etc.. anything with a tracking code)2. If no tracking code, then collect search engine or referring domain and use as marketing channel3. If no tracking code, search engine, or display, ...

Welcome to the forum Max!Though this would seem like a pretty easy question... the solution isn't so much You need to build a segment that shows the first hit for that page for the selected time period, but excludes all sequential hits. This is what it will look like. Notice that the exclude segment only excludes after the sequence (red circle). And instead of "contains home" you'll probably want to do "equals (your page)".Once you have this segment in place, you should be able to break down uni...

Build a sequential segment that shows visitors who meet your criteria, and "then" meet your criteria again. Duplicate your criteria in the segment as many times as you would like to see that behavior. So the below would show visitors who have clicked the browse-hero-cta at least twice.

Building a segment that filters by hits with greater than 100 visits will show how many visitors who have been to the site 100+ times have seen each page, but what I think the OP is trying to do is see how many pages have received more than 100 visits. Because visits are attached to visitors and not pages, I don't know that there is a way to build a segment based on page behavior rather than visitor behavior. The only way to do this might be to pull a pages report and scroll down until the pages...

If you drag only specific values from the dimension into the freeform table, then the 'i' icon does not appear (as shown in the original screenshot above). Also, having the 'i' is great, but when so many reports get passed around as screenshots or in powerpoints, the ability to mouse over the 'i' isn't available in those situations.
