Generally with SNAPSHOT bundles you're not incrementing the build number and newer deploys won't get picked upSo for example the bundle from the 23rd that was picked up under :/apps/yyy/install/yyy-wcms.core-3.11.1-SNAPSHOT.jarWhat's the current build you're trying to deploy today on the 30th? Is it still 3.11.1 ?

Tastes like a "recipe" for disaster. Why automate it? How are you going to trust the results? What data points will define success at each stage?Jumping from 6.0 to 6.3 will involve a repository migration before you upgrade.Lastly, AEM 6.3 will be end-of-core-support in April 2020, 5-6 months from now. If you're going through the effort to migrate off AEM 6.0 why not jump to 6.5 and set yourself up for long-term success.I think automating the upgrade is a waste of time and is something that shoul...

AEM 6.3 is going to be end-of-core-support in April 2020 --- you really should upgrade to 6.5 from 6.1.It makes no sense to migrate to a version of AEM that won't be supported in 6 months from now. No comment in regards to your requirement though .. someone else may chime in there.

Don't let the bug title trip you up. The main thing is that it checks that the authorizable object is not null exactly where the log message you provided says it's having a null pointer exception.

Given that the NPE is happening here : Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: nullat com.adobe.cq.sites.ui.models.admin.security.permission.Permissions.initModel(Permissions. java:109)You're likely hitting CQ-4241823 - Properties page break in Page Properties if CUG member/group does not exist or is deleted(backported to 6.3 via NPR-24122 in 6.3.2.2+) There is a null check on the authorizable just before line 109.

debugClientlibs=trueno longer works post AEM 6.4 due to changes in where compiled things exist. In the past they were under /var in the repository, now it's under the outputcache in the filesystem. That flag no longer works as you'd expect.

Capture the SAML response in your web browser using the Network tab in the Developer tools. The SAMLResponse object will be in the POST to the Idp.Then you base-64 decode the SAML response back to readable XML.

Crank up the allocated Xmx -- I'm assuming you're doing this on your local machine? I've seen the same behavior trying to use 48 columns. The grid.less file is grinding away trying to compile when the client library rebuilds.I've found throwing at least 8gb at the java process helps, but if you start AEM from the quickstart.jar in a local dev environment it will likely bonk on GC overhead.Side note to changing the columns -- make sure you also change the number of columns in the Policy.

This build of the Uber Jar does though :https://repo.adobe.com/nexus/content/repositories/releases/com/adobe/aem/uber-jar/6.5.0.0/uber-jar-6.5.0.0-apis-with-dep… There are quite a few deprecations in the 6.5 UberJar. You can use this build as a stop-gap until you can refactor out the deprecated dependencies.

There were a ton of deprecations in the 6.5 uber jar. I suggest trying out this build : https://repo.adobe.com/nexus/content/repositories/releases/com/adobe/aem/uber-jar/6.5.0.0/uber-jar-6.5.0.0-apis-with-dep…

You need those FileDataStore configs in place from the first instantiation of AEM. You can't change it after-the-fact. Unpack the JARDrop your configs in the crx-quickstart/install folderStart AEM for the first time.

That 403 is because the asterisk is appended to the URL and Sling has no idea how to resolve it. It's a TouchUI thing when the user clicks on Add Component, it's been a known thing for a while. That 403 is a dead end.

Known issue - CQ-4278585This regression got introduced as AEM switched to a file system based outputcache. That flag no longer works as expected. The resolution for this has been deferred and is not currently in scope to be resolved. But feel free to log a Daycare ticket -- just be sure to fully justify the business impact this is having in a quantifiable way.

Careful using the word "deadlock" as that means something very specific. I haven't seen a true case of deadlock in aem in quite some time.

BLOCKED threads are symptoms of a problem not the problem itself. You need to look at the RUNNABLE threads over a series of thread dump captures to understand what's causing resource contention. Also use a better way to capture the thread dumps (like the Jstack series script @JaideepBrar suggested). Whenever you see the TID as 0xffffffff it implies you used the same JVM thats buggered to capture the thread dumps. You need to launch jstack using a separate jvm than the one running AEM.

ProTip : If you need to manually kill the java process . ENSURE that AEM is not writing to disk or you risk data corruption. So a quick way to do this is to check the segmentstore /crx-quickstart/repository/segmentstore and view the last modified timestamps on all the TAR files. Ensure that it hasn't written to disk in the last few minutes before you kill the process. Otherwise when you bring it back up you could have issues trying to mount the repository.Cheers.

Yes.SVG assets are not streamed by default as a security practice. The mimetype image/svg-xml is blacklisted in the DAM Safe Binary Filter. So you'd need to remove it from the blacklist. If it's still downloading you may need to disable the Apache Sling Content Disposition Filter -- but that's not recommended.

Follow what berliant outlined.Think of it as 3 main operations that need to be done in order:1) Unpack the 6.4 or 6.5 jar file over the CQ 5.6 instance. So place that alongside the cq5.6 jar and unpack.java -Xmx4096m -jar cq-quickstart-6.4.0.jar -unpack2) Perform repository / segmentstore migration -- this is where we make the jump from crx2 used in cq5.6 to oak-segment-tar used in aem 6.4 or 6.5.java -Xmx4096m -jar cq-quickstart-6.4.0.jar -v -x crx2oak -xargs -- --load-profile segment-fds3) Pe...

You'll need to leverage either the Image Transcoding Library, Camera RAW, ImageMagick, or PDF Rasterizer packages and make the necessary DAM Update Asset workflow model changes to process these file types.
