Unable to deploy application on server. - Adobe LiveCycle 20-07-2006
Hi, I am seriously intrigued by the way flex applicationsbehaves. I have my flex-app successfully compiled in Flex Builder2. Now this creates a .swf file which can readily access theHTTPService calls made to URLs on the internet. However when Ideploy the same file[basically the HTML wrapper and .swf file] ontomy J2EE application server with FDS, I get the error :[RPC Fault faultString="Send failed"faultCode="Client.Error.MessageSend"faultDetail="Channel.Connect.Failed errorNetConnection.Call.Fai...

Re: Deploying flex application on a j2ee application server. - Adobe LiveCycle 13-07-2006
Is that not too much to ask for.[:(]. I seriously wonder ifthe whole web application deployment technology needs arestructuring to get rid of these cumbersome issues. I am perplexedif the same application can run from inside the flex builder , WTHit cannot from within the web server.>>Here's what I think you do:>>1) Deploy the flex.war file (this is the empty WARfile you use to start new FDS apps) onto your test/developmentserver.>>2) Modify configuration files, create and testassemblers, define...

Re: Deploying flex application on a j2ee application server. - Adobe LiveCycle 12-07-2006
Is .war file any different from an archive such as .zip ofall the project files associated with the application. That is tosay, can I zip all the contents and rename it to a .war extensionand give to my OC4J server which will deploy it.

hi, I know am pushing it a bit too far, but can you please let meknow where do I get these .war files from. As in, my installationof the flex builder doesn't contain the .war files for the sampleapplications which are there already. Also , if I wish to make a.war file for my application how do I do that.?thanks, shishir

I see, that's interesting. But right now the only concern Ihave is to deploy the application on the server. I did read the'Getting Started' and specifically the Deploying flex applicationpart of it, but the directory structures given in there have nosimilarity to what is available on OC4J.

Thanks for the links, but I still dont understand the role offlex data services in the process of deployment of a simple flexapplication on an app server. Why do I need to install the flexdata services application.?
