Another forum was able to provide me with the answer to this question. Thanks to formman!But in case someone else needs this information from THIS forum, the answer is:Add the following script to the radio button GROUP. It allows the user to click around the different radion button selections but the moment they click into another field they cannot make a change to the radio button group. this.access = "readOnly";

I have a form that contains 4 radio buttons. Each button displays its own unique hidden subform when clicked.Is there a way to show the hidden subform AND lock the selection on the click? The form owner does not want a user to be able to change their selection once made.

I have developed some forms using LiveCycle 8.05.2073.1.374024 - part of Adobe Design Standard CS3. When I went to apply reader rights using LiveCycle Reader Extensions 7.0 I received the following message: Error 442: Selected file failed to open as a PDF 'com.adobe.document.pdf.PDFOperationFailure: IDL:com/adobe/document/pdf/PDFOperationFailure:1.0'.What can I do to resolve this issue?

I found out why the Preview PDF wasn't working! And fortunately it's nothing serious that requires reinstalling.It's a simple setting in LiveCycle. Open your form and go to the menu item 'File/Form Properties'.In the Form Properties window, select the 'Defaults tab'. In this window under Preview/Preview Type, change the default from Print Form to Interactive Form.Voilà. That's it.Now you'll have to do this for each individual form unless someone out there knows how to change the default setting ...

I added the following JS to a button and it works perfectly. Almost! I'm still getting the automatic text "Warning: JavaScript Window-" showing in the title bar. Is there a way to clear this and only show my custom text?app.alert ("List specific services and service levels that are legislated (reference applicable legislation).\n\n" + "For example, one long term care bed in rented facility.", 3, 0, "Legislated Mandatory Service Requirements");

Can someone PLEASE help on this? It is getting really frustrating and time-consuming. DEVELOPED in LiveCycle 8.05: We have 4 text fields and 4 drop-down fields that all populate from a web service which is activated from a 9th field (network login name). The 4 ddl fields populate with the employee's specific information from the data base as well as a list of all other names (in case a correction is required).TESTED in Acrobat Pro 8.1.2: All but 1 of the 8 fields successfully return the employee...

LiveCycle Designer 8.05WHY we want to do this. In the past Ive hard coded JS arrays* to display and bind the Department and Division fields. This has worked well and has become extremely popular with the user groups. A large number of forms already carry this coding. However Im concerned that if something changes in any of the values it will be necessary to manually update ALL the forms. So Im attempting to be pro-active and develop a web service that can be accessed from each form instead!This ...

Just starting this week, the Preview PDF displays the layout of the form but I cannot test the field values. I can only 'click' into field values that have a default value, or into a field's caption. This is only happening with NEW forms. Forms created last week and before are functioning perfectly in Preview PDF.I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat/LC Designer 8 and the problem still exists. Could this somehow have been caused by the new Daylight Saving Time change on Sunday? It'...

Is anyone else experiencing the following problem? After an object is created, the OBJECT Field Type disappears if I click to the LAYOUT or BORDER tabs, and then back again.To get it to display again I have to re-select; or close and re-open the file.Since I only have a couple of Designer forms in development, I don't know what or if there's an impact to the user.(I'm running on MS Windows XP Version 2002 SP2.)

Every item is on its own line and consists of a section number, reference number, item description, a set of radio buttons (Yes, No, N/A); and a small comment section which remains hidden until it is requested then it appears on its own line directly below the item.I've tried a couple of different methods but nothing seems to work (at least without a horrendous amount of work). I'm trying to remove the highlighting feature on a regular button but so far I've been unable. I thought it would be easy -- just change the highlighting option on button's object field to None. This isn't doing it. Is there another place to make this change? Or is this a bug??

Thanks Jared. I've never used variables so I'll have to do some more learning!I did have the objects in the custom object palette but it is necessary to change the field name in each of the 4 scripts for every field I add to a form. A major pain, and time consuming... and I'm always looking for a faster way of doing everything !

THANKS so much for the effort Chris... it was appreciated. Unfortunately the script didn't work. I didn't get any error messages but the date didn't display either.Oh well, I'll advise my users auto dates are not available (since I cannot break our corporate data standard format). I'll certainly be adding this to the wish list for the next version (hopeful I know)!

Is there a way of calculating numeric averages? For instance, I have 10 numeric fields, that I need to average and put the result in an 11th field. Now the twist (you knew this was coming right??) -- if a field does not contain a numeric value or the value equals 0.0 then it should not reflect in the average.Am I asking the impossible?
